is there any downloadable DDOS protection software or is all service provided? i'm interested in setting up a master node but I only have Windows boxes...

There's no software you can run that will help with a DDOS attack. You require enterprise level hardware in place at the hosting end.

Look into cloudflare

would the Free plan be sufficient?

I have cloudflare... Don't see how it could help.

It reverse proxy the domain, not the IP...

Blackcoin thread was also full of posts about "no pump" and "organic growth". Be carefull people, don't get burned.

Well BC did shoot up 200x..

Whoever bought in at that level deserves to be bagholders.

Dark is something much more innovative IMO, even though I support BC too.

There is one crucial difference between the 2 coins.

Blackcoin is just a trading instrument with a multipool.

Darkcoin is something else, innovative, anonymous coin with real use and masternodes on top of it...

I won't be surprised seeing $5-10 floor in the next several weeks.

Evan, will the next RC support Windows masternodes?

The current version does, you just need to use the debug window to start it up

- I created an empty wallet for the masternode, and encrypted it with "mypassword"
- sent 1000 DRK from another wallet to the masternode wallet's default address
- launched the masternode wallet
- went to debug window, typed: masternode start mypassword
- typed: masternode debug, and it says "Missing masternode input, try running masternode create"
- typed: masternode create, and it says "Not implemented yet"

Did I miss a step or should it work?  Huh

Lets cast the DRK shadow over Litecoin

Just ~$298m to go  Grin

next stop blackcoin

At the rate BlackCoin is going down and the rate Darkcoin is going up, I give it an hour.  Cheesy

Need to get out of the habit of scrolling down to find Darkcoin  Cheesy

Can someone list in order what they feel is the best exchange to use for Dark?  Maybe list the top 3 or 5.  I'm thinking of moving off Cryptsy and looking for a good safe one that has volume in Drk.

I'm using Mintpal, works much better than Cryptsy.

+1 for Mintpal. Previously used Poloniex which is also good, but too low volume there.

The market depth chart doesn't look good. Sell orders are huge, many want to cash out as quick as possible. If DRK can't break the 0.004 in next hours, there is a chance a dump will happen.

I guess there should be a correction somewhere around this level. Just wondering where exactly.

This IS the correction.

I meant major one, correcting this big wave. Kind of wave 2 in EW terms.

I think we should try to refocus, this is all very exciting, but lets get to work. As promised I am contacting merchants today about adding DRK. Some examples:

  • TheCryptoDepot
  • Bongocoin
  • Cryptosextoys.com

Will continue later today but I have to run some errands right now. Lets retake the marketing projects.  I have some English/Chinese fluent friends, what do we need to do in that front? Would love to get China into the game.

Maybe. I'll just keep holding, trading is too risky. The good thing about the pump is that more people notice the coin, even with a dump afterwards.
We are not even starting to see the possibilities of this coin yet.

I think Monero (XMR) is very interesting.

+1 on Mintpal, never liked Cryptsy since I first looked at it.

And RC2 is not even out yet. I welcome the whales.

Oh yea I did that too.. just forgot to add that in the post. Sad
Here are my updated steps:

- I created an empty wallet for the masternode, and encrypted it with "mypassword"
- sent 1000 DRK from another wallet to the masternode wallet's default address
- added line to darkcoin.conf: connect=23.23.186.131
- added line to darkcoin.conf: masternode=1
- launched the masternode wallet
- went to debug window, typed: masternode start mypassword
- typed: masternode debug, and it says "Missing masternode input, try running masternode create"
- typed: masternode create, and it says "Not implemented yet"

I started using Cryptsy for the volume. C-Cex has always been reliable for me, but too low volume. I was spiking the sells all by myself... I'm not a whale, it's just that C-Cex DRK volume is tiny and easy to throw out of whack.

Of all the crypto exchanges, C-Cex has been the fastest and most reliable for me. I'm sure to get flamed for saying that...

I wonder whats causing the BTC tank today? Seems everything based on it is tanking along with it... DRK is the only thing showing that it's not just another shitcoin, but a substancecoin. MAybe there are a few smart people left in the human race? Or, I'm about to be left holding the biggest bag ever... :-p
