As proven before people don't sell Darks lightly... this is so much more than just a trade type coins.

Beside, it's just x2 rise to what is was in past, appreciation of value and future roadmap, serious pump would take it easily 20-30x.

There might be small corrections of price, but not a real dump, because RC2, final release and open source are the locomotive of this train.

I think people should stop comparing DRK and BC. 2 very different coins, nothing wrong about BC, but different coins. BC had one locomotive, the multipool, which was actually the one buying coins and pushing the price up, with DRK is people who are buying the coins because they want to setup masternodes.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

HOLY SHIT.

someone just splurged 23 btc on mintpal and wiped that 17btc sell wall at 450k satoshi

...aaaaand another exciting day in DRKland has begun Cool

Now seriously some of these BTCs can't be legit. Earlier the price was 0.0039 both Mint and Cryptsy... a guy comes along at Mintpal and throws like 20-30 BTC buy order at 0.0045. Why would anyone do that if they had actually acquired their BTC in legitimate ways? It's an insta-loss of 10%... He would still get his DRKs if he put the buy at 0.0041. I sold everything I had at Mintpal on him and rebought at 0.004 a few seconds later.

They could also just not care about a short term loss. There is no doubt this price will fly a lot higher after RC2 so in the long run their buy was completely reasonable.

No disagreement with the fundamentals but why go over 10% of the current orderbook? Doesn't make any sense / it's not rational buying behavior.

If he's interested in acquiring that number of DRK he may have had to in order to fill his order instantly instead of creating a buy wall.

As proven before people don't sell Darks lightly... this is so much more than just a trade type coins.
You also have incentive to keep 1000 drk for each masternode and earn fees.

Beside, it's just x2 rise to what is was in past, appreciation of value and future roadmap, serious pump would take it easily 20-30x.
how many people do you think hold 1000DRK?

A lot, the coin is very well distributed.
30 masternode so far, I expect 100+ shortly after RC2 is release, it's just too good opportunity to pass.

Beside, why would anyone except traders sell coin which can easily go to $50-100 this year, market for anynomous coin is huge, people value privacy.
it sounds like you wont get much payout with a masternode if there's lots of them, they are talking 3 years to make 1000 DRK

Yes but 1000 DRK over 3 years if the coin is at $100 per dark would mean $100,000 every 3 years. Darkcoin can easily make it to $100 per DRK too so we could be looking at even larger returns for a masternode

There are PoS coins that pay less for holding the coins compared to owning a DRK masternode (and actually providing a service).

i was under the impression that those 1000drk for the masternode would be gone.

as i understand it now the 1000drk are just held in the wallet as long as the node is running??

Yes, you keep the 1000 DRK, so any fee earned is a pure profit.

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-update-masternode-requirements-masternode-payments.225/

With 128 node we're talkiing 8 Darks per day. It's a lot, especially as the price rises.

thx for clearing that up

i don't think will occur now, maybe they are pushing slowly in order to hide their pump
It might happen. You know daily traders low the volatility in the price.

Has there been talk of pools to build masternodes and split the profits? Obviously it would need to be with someone you trust with your coins.

Since the talk about the prices have finally calmed down, let's get to work as Minotaur26 suggested some pages ago.

I think we should try to refocus, this is all very exciting, but lets get to work. As promised I am contacting merchants today about adding DRK. Some examples:

  • TheCryptoDepot
  • Bongocoin
  • Cryptosextoys.com

Will continue later today but I have to run some errands right now. Lets retake the marketing projects.  I have some English/Chinese fluent friends, what do we need to do in that front? Would love to get China into the game.

Had to click around a bit to find this, good time to repost with the price on the move

It should be noted that Evan took over the bounty fund as he stated in this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg6310530#msg6310530

Yes, and unfortunately we can't really translate the website site until it's re-written.  I'm not exactly sure what is holding that up, or if it's getting finished, just not announced yet.  But as soon as it is completed, there are several people who are ready to translate it for us.

I asked Evan if I could update the first post, and I did what I could remember wanting to do, but I know I had other ideas.  Unfortunately, I don't remember everything, but I know it'll come to me.  I've sent it back to him for review.

If you have ideas for the website, write 'em up!  I'll try to do the same.  It's late now here, so I'm getting tired, but yah, we can start writing content, explanations etc... and the web designer can choose that / modify it to his liking and integrate it with the site.  I'll try to do some tomorrow Smiley

Quite a lot of copy has been written for a new website (http://darkcoin.us/io). It's good stuff but perhaps a little wordy. I was thinking of having a go at editing/rewriting it this weekend. I'm the one who wrote the recent media release.

I read your media release a while back and was impressed. I think you'd do a great job rewording the website.
