Darkcoin going up; Bitcoin going down

Darkcoin and Bitcoin are currently diametrically opposed.

Better keep buying DRK and saving up for those masternodes.

All publicity is good publicity. Smiley If nothing else, the price jump is going to have 100x more people talking about DRK.

It will have lasting effect. Same thing happened to Quark when I was invested in that and then a few weeks ago with BlackCoin. Quark is still 12th in market cap and Black is 9th, even after their dumps.

Quark I frankly know nothing about, but BC is pure tulips. Anyone still holding or mining it because they think they'll get a free KNC doorstop needs a psychiatric evaluation.

Hey guys, I just installed a fresh wallet on my windows PC, and also on to unix.

Both are having problems finding any live nodes.  I'm wondering if the node seed server is pointing to a bunch that are down?  They all look to be in the 192.99 area and also 162.252 area. Also ALL have been down for 114.3 or 114.6 Hrs.  Looks like they might be the official nodes? Or alteast where the seed node points people.

I fixed it on my windows PC by using my peers file from my main windows PC.  I'll probably fix my unix one by doing similar.

BUT thinking about all the newbies out there who are new to DRK and getting their clients installed, without it finding any connections.

Maybe Evan or InternetApe can take a look? Cheers

Update: Yup, replacing the peers.dat worked a charm, connections right away.

Main nodes which the seed node points too must ALL be down, nearly 5 days.

New all time high.

Props to the Jan and Feb early adopters.

We haven't reached it yet. All time high is 0.008 (0.00799).

That one shouldn't count in my opinion, it was of the dude who had cheated himself 100 btc and bought every dark he could on c-cex.

IIRC the hacker bought up to 0.0075 and then I got it up to 0.00795 or 0.00799 by mistake*. So the absolute top price was legit, even if it was a few DRKs. The pump wasn't legit** though.

* Thought I was seeing an extra zero (0.000799) and clicked too fast.

** Then again, do we even know where the BTCs that are buying DRK now come from? They may as well be MtGox BTCs that are finding their way to altcoins.

Wuzamarine.  I think everyone's wallet works except yours.  Save your wallet.dat out again on a usb drive and verify that you saved it out and then really delete everything.  Then reboot your machine.  Then download the latest qt file and run it.  Then close it.  Then copy your USB wallet.dat file on top of the new, empty one in the roaming folder.  Then run it again and wait and see if it fully syncs.

If this is bad advice then someone please post because I am far from a bitcoin wallet expert and I make no claims I know what the heck I am talking about.

I even starte darkcoin as admin, creating a full new profile and a new wallet, freezes at the exact same place.

Fiat? People seeing the light and dumping crapcoins?

Any AWOL Mt GOX BTC probably got laundered long ago.

I actually think the coming demand for DRK will significantly drive up the price of BTC so people can buy DRK with it.

just delete all files in appdata besides wallet.dat and restart.

No one is dumping because whales look like little sardines compared to real investors in the darksend mainframe !!

Yeah I think the whales who are used to toying with piddly altcoins are about to find out the ocean is deeper than they think.

Pumping and dumping gone wrong. We are watching it happen. Smiley

LOL, someone killed the wall at 0.0042, price went to 0.0035 and it's back to 0.004 ... I hope this wasn't any of you thinking that you could dump and rebuy cheaper Tongue

MUST READ

For all new players and old peeps lacking the fundamentals and are clueless of what to make of the current situation.

DRK is the only contender and successor of BTC/LTC.

You shall not look at DRK as any other coin or think it will follow the pattern of other coins history trend. Sure there are people day trading to get profit which will give its influence and sure there are people who already made unbelievable profits and want to cash out some percentage. The truth of the matter is that the people who has been around believed in this coin for the long run and this puny rise that you call a pump is nothing we even consider cashing out on (even if it is hella' tempting).

You call this a pump when it is just a preparation of a pre-prerelease. Consider what will happen when RC2 is out and then when Darksend is live and opensourced. Hail DRK mother of x11.

We also know that the longer we hold the higher the value and as long we keep these mental price range a reality, it will surely get there. In addition, this small sell offs even benefits the future of Darkcoin.

But be wary thinking you can get in cheaper.

The Darksend feature is not "stable" yet which means the bigger money operations is not yet here. What will happen then? Do I really need to spell it out for you?
