To have that material impact on price needs another few months - target is Dec 24, 2015, so interim would have to be around that time period.

Thats a bit of a disappointing timescale which may try my patience somewhat.

Could you make it a bit sooner ?

Having thought about it a little more, I've changed my mind a little on the timing.

Forget capital, Greek businesses can't get anything from their bank. Many businesses are now moribund.

-I was trying to buy something online (costing just 2-3$) with my greek visa, and the charge was getting rejected.
-Gas stations take only cash.
-Suppliers of stuff, take only cash as they are afraid of the consequences of accepting digital payments, and with that I include bank payments (they are afraid they will not be able to withdraw it, or their money could be bailed-in / converted to drachma etc etc).

There is in a sense a fungibility issue with the euro in Greece right now. Digital euros / bank euros "suck" as they are useless to transact. Cash euro is what counts for most people, even companies.

Times like these, you *realize*, not theoretically, but by living it, that you wouldn't trade your crypto for fiat and that crypto is immensely more useful (ie you can actually transact, when with digital cash / banks / cards etc you can't).

The sense of value increases in a way that is unexpected: I wouldn't trade a single BTC even if I was offered >1000 euro in the bank in these conditions. The euros in the bank are useless.

Does this mean that online merchants in Greece are effectively bankrupt?

Doing business online is supposed to save governments money. Making digital money worthless is just another nail in the economic coffin.

All these discussions about Greek debt make me think of issues you hear about pay-day lenders. The interest rates are far lower, but the issues are the same.

Something you did actually hear, here first:

Quote
In the midst of the ongoing financial crisis, Greece has stopped online payment transactions from going ahead using Greek debit or credit cards.

http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2015/06/30/online-payments-halted-in-greece-citizens-eye-bitcoin-to-protect-savings/

This is big news for Bitcoin / DASH if they can jump in and fill the gap quickly. No time to waste, just throw these people a lifeline and they will be with you forever.

That's not true.    Please refer to the USD price and not the BTC ratio.     We are still around $2.83.    BTC ratio goes down when BTC rises faster than DASH but in many cases when the ratio goes down,  the DASH USD price still creeps higher.

Well, since most of us bought DASH with BTC, we measure price in BTC...

That's silly.  How do you buy the BTC?    You shouldn't measure it with BTC but if you do, you'll probably feel quite a bit of hurt if you haven't already.  Good luck with that.

It's not silly. For example, I measure my funds only in BTC with no relation to USD, that's why I don't care DASH/USD rate, but only DASH/BTC.

I do agree with wastedLTC.
We should see at correlation of value fiat/dash instead btc/dash but as most of us buy dash for btc we still have the mentality to compare it to crypto-crypto.
If btc = 6000$ I'd be happy if dash=0.01 Wink
edit: I see different opinions on different people Smiley
btw. I've contacted two Polish Exchanges to adopt dash/pln pair...will see how it goes.

BE SMART, USE DASH ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

If you really want to be accurate...

$2.55 on May 25th

The original post was about having the lowest price since March.   We were lower in May.

I understand the BTC pair but its just not accurate.   When people ask "how much for a MN".   Today they respond around $3000.    I've never heard anyone say around 11.43 BTC.     Lets be real.    If I was new to DASH and wanted to buy in and I asked, how much is DASH at,  most would respond around $3.   Not .0109 BTC.   So if DASH went from $3->$30 tomorrow and BTC went from $260->$4000 tomorrow.  Are you saying that you would be complaining that DASH went down to its lowest price this year?

I think you guys are picking a very particular time frame, Dash has shown great stability at the base price for each stage of the project.

This is the 12h chart from Cryptsy taken today, if you look at it until February we were at 500K satoshis and that was the stable price for months. Now the stable price is around 0.011 BTC and it has been for a few weeks. This chart shows the big picture and it shows something we should be proud of, is rare to find this type of stability and health, we went through that rise earlier this year up from 500K and then the market consolidated and has been building a solid base.  Development continues aggressively we just need to continue executing our plans.

I agree.   The comment was about how we are at the LOWEST price,  and I didn't agree.   I feel we are doing well,  moving on.

Phew.

i doubt it, the proposal is too vague at the moment and too late. Germany will only start negotations
after the referendum and the troyka will likely hold onto the key-elements they consider vital themself
which still conflict with any greeks proposal so far.

i think Greece is heading straight to an IMF default .. i guess we hear more in a few hours after the EU
ministers of finance give a speech (most likely we hear more from Dutch chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem soon)
