IIRC 22 Feb '14 was around the time when Cryptsy introduced DASH (amidst the ccex hack aftermath chaos) so possibly a market player moving to the new, larger exchange (up to then it was ccex + poloniex). There wasn't any mixing capability back then, DarkSend came later (a few months).

Wow - It's certainly a good attempt at telling the truth. The only thing I can't compute is how you can keep a business running for 18 months after a 'theft' on such a scale... If it was $1m I could probably buy the story that they tried to earn their way out of the problem... But $10m+.... I can't see it. Either way, this is yet another confirmation that we really need to work on a decentralised exchange for crypto. I learned my lesson from Mintpal - I got lucky and withdrew my stash days before - and since then I've never kept a single duff on any exchange more than 24 hours. In fact, the last 2 masternodes I've bought I've gone direct to brokers and paid a small premium. Don't need to worry about it then. If I buy any more dash in the future I'm probably going to source it direct from brokers or community members, even if it costs a little more. Until there is a reliable decentralised exchange. Walter

By selling 400k dash and other alts, perhaps. Maybe that's why dash withdrawals were fragmented and coming in pieces. They had exhausted the dash supply to pay out btcs and ltcs.

I think it is a bit soon to give up on bitcoin. He's just too butthurt that his XT project failed...as it should have. Yes and stupid media wrote about him like a hero who lost his faith. Where is the fact that his Coup d'état is losing so he doesn't have any place in bitcoin community right now ?

@ 0.01 and BTC below $350.00 I'd be tempted to sell my DASH for BTC for a quick profit

"It's only money." and not even the real money at that. But at 1 US Dollar equals 13.40 Argentine Peso I'm tempted to go back there. Spent several insane months in Buenos Aires while ago when they had austral and it was taking an incredible plunge...

Hacked is not the correct word here, the network was attacked.

Hacked, Attacked, For sure, these are complete different things, sorry. (if we believe the story) cryptsy was hacked and private keys were stolen so the hacker could steal cryptocurrency Monero was attacked resulting in a fork. No currency was stolen, the network forked. that's a big difference Also, if you want to know the details: the attacker found a small bug in the new 0.9 release that made it possible to create v2 blocks before the network was scheduled to do the planned hardfork. If we compare this to how DASH handles hardforks: DASH has a system called "sporking" that enables Evan (or the full dev team, no idea?) to just fork the network. And everybody will switch automatically. So if Evan is hacked, it's possible that the DASH network hardforks. It's even possible that the attacker puts some malicious code on the network and is able to actually steal funds if he's clever. In that case we can say that DASH is hacked, not just attacked. So get your terminology straight. Monero can't be hacked, only attacked.
