Price retracted slightly and coins are getting gobbled up for masternodes - node count slowly increasing and back up to 3500 as of this moment.

The reason for this is imo, that Dash promised a lot and a lot of projects started, but one has the impression that none of those really found it's end.
For instance darkmixing. For how long now is this feature available now? A year? Recently i used it for the first time and was SO dissapointed. It took me 2 (!) days to mix 1000 coins. Unbelievable! Who do expect to use that stuff when everything takes so long? I know its a solvable issue. But ffs its been a year now! Same goes for masternode blinding etc.
You got to finish things first before moving ahead and open new projects.
Justmy2satoshis.
It's a possible chicken-egg problem. Darksend speed will only increase with more active usage (thus more users). The question is if it will attract more usage being horrendously slow (I think 2 days counts as horrendously).

It's a possible chicken-egg problem. Darksend speed will only increase with more active usage (thus more users). The question is if it will attract more usage being horrendously slow (I think 2 days counts as horrendously). Any system like Darksend that depends on contemporaneous volume for mixing is hopelessly vulnerable to attackers flooding the mix with their own coins, in order to flush out targets of surveillance. The more fake usage (and compromised masternodes), the more actual usage is degraded in terms of privacy/security. That's why ring sig approaches like Cryptonote are a quantum leap ahead, in that they depend on the total mass of (emitted) coins for camouflage, rather than just what's currently in the queue to be mixed. The former is a kludge, vainly struggling to emulate the actual (rather than "sort of, hopefully) unlinkability of the latter's zero-knowledge based approach. Dufffield used to say nice things about ring signatures and the desirability of using them to improve Dash's "bad crypto." But protecting the instamine was apparently more important than fixing the broken "privacy theater" of Darksend (aka broken, snake oil rip-off cargo cult version of CoinJoin).

Everyone keep an eye on the www.WhatIsDash.org project and www.DashRoundTable.org, we will be turning these websites into very useful learning & news platforms specifically designed to educate anyone and everyone about Dash.

Hi ,I have bought some DASH this day .And i register a count here .Hope the dash can be up in 2016 Do they accept Dash in MMM? MMM is a pyramid scheme, why are you asking about it? Oh wait.... this is the DASH thread where HYIP masternodes are sold. Now your question makes sense. Well, generally it's better to ignore trolls but I need to make a point here. Firstly, there's certainly IP but without HY if you know what I mean. Masternodes are payed but it's also great risk to hold such amounts of any crypto in long term, not only Dash. So the payments won't compensate your losses if the coin loses in value. It's for true believers and insiders, not for people trying to make a quick profit. Secondly, unlike HYIPs, masternodes are payed no matter what and even if no new investors arrive. Actually, it's the opposite of a HYIP here: less investors - bigger masternode payments. It was a joke about MMM. But actually I think it would be good in terms of adoption for them to start using Dash. They say it helped Bitcoin a bit

Author of that article could have done some article checking before hitting that send button, a sentence from Evan consisting of 5 lines is repeated no less then 3 times in that article. Since then, i have moved on to looking at some of the -- > superior infrastructure Edit : sorry wrong article, i was linked through and reading an older article : https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/dash-increases-its-block-size/Two topics in there were interesting to read though as it informed us a bit about what the dev-team is focussing on currently (with update v12.1) What are the concerns, if any, facing Dash right now?
The only concern currently is revamping the existing software to provide a better level of service for some complaints our users have with the instant transaction implementation, that it isn’t accessible enough via the API command line. Also, we have received feedback that our privacy service is a bit slow and could be improved upon. We plan on taking some time soon to take a fresh look at these services and add the functionality our users require.
What are Dash’s immediate short-term goals?
In the short-term we will be taking a break from Dash Evolution development, which is a user-friendly addition to our product and focusing on v12.1 and improving existing features. After we have this release complete we will move back to Evolution, to continue working on it. You can read more about Dash Evolution at dash.org/evolution.
also i read somewhere that one group currently focus on update v12.1 and another on Evolution, so both parts are getting attention right now.

Just like the Bitcoin obituary, we should create a stats graph on how many times trolls say "instamine"

A few things:
Darksend
Definitely horrendously slow if you need to use it "right away." Speed should certainly be a priority. At the same time, it's *intended* to be an ahead-of-time mixing process. In theory, the time it takes shouldn't matter too much, because the vast majority of your purchases (anything that you purchase more than two days from now) can be done instantly.
Development Roadmap
I would love to see one of Evan's extremely good "Dash Roadmap" posts. We have a sizable team--I was staggered to learn that Budget v2 and Evolution will be worked on concurrently due to having so many developers. That's amazing--I didn't realize it was possible! It would be awesome to get a comprehensive roadmap, with who is working on what, expected completion date, next steps, etc. At the same time this is risky, because development priorities may need to pivot (for instance, I don't think revamping the budget system was on anybody's mind until two weeks ago), and timeframes almost always get overshot (Ethereum ended up being many months late...instead of "Q4 2014" it was July 28, 2015. Depending on how you read "Q4" that's between 8 - 10 months overdue.)
