72% of Cryptocurrency Holders Plan to Buy More, Dash Masternode Counts Rise

The vast majority of cryptocurrency investors plan on buying more this year, as Dash masternode counts continue to rise.

According to a survey conducted by SharesPoint in July, a polled group of over 3,000 investors responded on their willingness to invest more in cryptocurrency this year. 72% of respondents indicated that they planned to increase their cryptocurrency holdings this year, despite the sharp decline in price, which in some cases has amounted to over 90%. Respondents also indicated that they believed cryptocurrency would reach wide adoption by 2025.

Dash Leverages Innovative Capabilities to Revolutionize Quorum Technology

Dash has announced the introduction of Long Living Masternode Quorums (LLMQs), which is currently under development and will influence both Evolution and non-Evolution features of Dash.

Alexander Block, a Dash Core Group developer, started off by recalling his last blog post about quorums and how despite their revolutionary offerings, they do not scale very well. Whereas LLMQs “only increase the required resources (CPU, RAM, network) on the members of such quorums, instead of increasing the load on the whole network”. Also different from regular quorums, LLMQs are built beforehand and reused for a fixed period of time rather than created on demand.

According to a new report on a survey of 141 financial industry executives conducted by the Greenwich Associates consulting firm, the vast majority, 80%, believed in the long-term existence of the cryptocurrency asset class, with 70% believing in a strong future (38% believe regulations will allow growth and 32% believe that a few coins will survive and thrive). Only 17% believed that cryptocurrency had no future, with 10% forecasting death by regulatory crackdown and 7% seeing most, if not all, coins losing all value. A very small minority, 2% of those polled, believed that cryptocurrency would grow to disrupt traditional finance.

Interesting statistical data that you presented here. If the data that they provided is true, it is quite good that 80% of those "financial industry executives" think that cryptocurrency will stay here longer as what others are saying. But what caught my eye is that we only have 2% of these participants think that this will disrupt traditional finance. They still believe that fiat will still be vastly used worldwide in the future and I disagree with this. Well, we wouldn't know what will happen but I'm really hoping that fiat will go away and we'll just use cryptocurrencies in our daily lives.

It is also worth mentioning that the MN count for Dash is slowly climbing again after a sudden decrease in its numbers. People are slowly getting back to Dash and slowly setting up their MNs which is a good sign. It is most likely that those who sold their MNs few days ago are coming back again due to lower price.

Dash Experiences Increasing Global POS Integrations

Coinify, which provides a point-of-sales platform for merchants to accept cryptocurrencies, recently integrated Dash into their platform.

Coinify’s website claims that they are the “#1 virtual currency payment service provider in Europe” with over 30,000 merchants spread throughout 70 plus countries. Coinify allows merchants to accept up to 15 different cryptocurrencies and pays out amounts in government fiat.

Coinify is one of many cryptocurrency POS systems that exist today because of increasing consumer demand for merchants to accept cryptocurrency. One of the first POS systems was BitPay, which significantly helped Bitcoin adoption in the early years of Bitcoin’s life. However, some of their consumers have been inconvenienced with failed transaction sends because of BitPay’s usage of BIP-70. They are implementing a solution, but it nevertheless highlights how relatively new and underdeveloped the cryptocurrency-for-commerce space is and the importance of competition to give consumers and merchant more and better options.
