Like I said, every now and then there is a bunch of rejects that lead to this rig being banned from drkpool.

The rejects is just cause you are submitting while worker being banned.. otherwise it is as normal 0.5% on 290s.

I had this problem and I had to lower -I to 19 on my 290s - solved it but with lower hash. Try fiddle with the TC and put shaders instead

I run my intensity at 20 on all my 280x cards and i only get about 0.1-0.2% rejects on some cards, not all.

yes, with the beta you do not need to use testnet for darksend.

the settings are probably not good though. I can get 1050 kH/s with a 7850. The 270's should get at least 1,3 MH/s

you are right i m playing it with settings so far reached 8MH
but have a feeling can go even better...

The master node is chosen based on a hash of the last block. A master node is just a regular DarkCoin client that was elected based on the hash.

Well, it was a mistake in calculating how long it would take to get to the chosen block before a hard fork.  Most everyone was notified, but some people are not on the mailing list I guess?  Can't say anything except sorry, which I know Evan is.

He implemented a fix for a vulnerability in KGW that was found.

What can we all say?  I'm sorry it happened as well, and hope all the pools will continue on despite the mistake.
