As much as I appreciate people working on new logos and things, good on them!  But honesty, I love the current logo! It's awesome, and I don't think it would be a good move to change it.  If people want to work on designs and thigns, why not work on some cool graphics making use of the current one.

I saw some cool 3D / realistic and vector coins a few pages, love them!

I've seen this sentiment several times, but I'm not sure why.  Namely because I dont' think we have a proper logo.  If I'm mistaken about that, will someone please be so kind as to point me in the right direction?

It seems to me that a lot of people are confused, so please allow me to clarify...

This is a logo.  It is for use in multimedia branding and marketing.

This is not a logo.  It is not for use in multimedia branding and marketing.

We have tons of these on this thread, and few or none of these.

I don't think people understand the difference and the links you posted aren't working Smiley

It's because the url link feature thingy hates me.  I think they're fixed now.

Hey was there a problem with DarkGravityWave after all? I remember reading something?

Yeah, there's the possibility of a timewarp exploit (still) and a problem with 32bit. Working on the patch in this branch:

https://github.com/evan82/darkcoin/commits/dgw-fixes/src

Hi Evan, I just wanted to tell you that I will be using your X11 algorithm for a coin I'm creating. It definitely seems like the best solution out there right now. I'm currently using a KGW implementation with a time warp limitation but will be upgrading to your Dark Gravity Wave when it's completed - full credit given wherever I can . Although I won't be using your Darksend when it becomes open source, I believe that is yours to keep and have as a selling point for Darkcoin.

Thank you for all your contributions to the crypto community.

Help Test DGW!

I've got a new version of DGW and I've tested a few architectures, could some people jump on testnet and make sure it works for them?

Compile this branch:
https://github.com/evan82/darkcoin/commits/dgw-fixes/src

Add this to your config:
addnode=54.205.156.184
testnet=1

It's at block 11 right now. Let me know

doing compile. 32bit + 64bit
stratum will be up.

Sorry Evan, I simply don't know how.  Can't even figure out how to download, LOL (only know git clone, LOL)

Hate to ask, but if you could throw up a qt wallet, I'll put it on the Ubuntu for testing asap, just have to leave in 30 minutes!

Actually, does Evan want 32 bit systems?  I have NO idea how to compile for windows (and only an idea of how to compile for Ubuntu, ROFL)  If someone slaps 'em up on the forum soon, I'll put my 2 kid's windows xp to work?

Anybody here who can help with darkcoin and stratum-mining?

Iam not able to get any share accepted on the stratum-mining remote server.
So either something fundamentally wrong with the xcoin setup or my diff/daemon config is messed up.

https://github.com/alphaaurigae/stratum-mining/tree/xcoinhash

Would be awesome if anybody can help with that.

I noticed some pools were missing from the main post.
Which pools should we be mining on?
If using a dual hex core Xeon CPU, what miner should I use?
What about Radeon 280X?

For CPU use http://darkcoin.io/downloads/darkcoin-minerd-1.2c.zip this miner

for GPU use this miner https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475795.0

And the best thing would be to mine on P2P Pool http://drk.poolhash.org/

The difficulty moves every block, but yes, it is a little higher than it has been. I've also read that it is getting harder to find gold.

I really like this, but the logo looks backwards.  The bottom of the lock should be the other way around to create the D don't you think?

Not only the D.. the C is mirrored as well.. I guess this corresponds quite well to the 'Dark' theme..

Darkcoin has nothing to do with locks, unless we associate it with prison.  Undecided

It might look slick, but gives me a prison feeling instead of liberation and freedom.

I find it quite logical to have this lock.. anonimous->hidden->behind doors->behind locked doors

Postnote: I have no involvement to the logo creation whatsoever.. (I like it though..)
