Don't fee the troll. --- So, Hiro is doing well because they are marketing the coin properly, but I think it helps DarkCoin by making X11 more popular. Originally X11 was just planned as a different hash, Evan never thought that it would consume less and generate less heat (could be interesting to know if a nVidia GPU miner has the same characteristic), but this should be a very important selling point right now, to miners it matters a lot, specially with summer coming soon, I think a new thread called "Summer is coming..." could be awesome

Public service announcement:
Feeding the trolls only makes them dependent on you for sustenance and encourages them to troll again in the future. Their lives are clearly sad enough without you contributing to their loss of self sufficiency. Please enjoy looking and laughing quietly to yourselves, but do not feed the trolls.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a bounty for it, but no miner so far.

Bitcoin got to 10bn marketcap with no bling bling though I think if you do well what you ought to do, then recognition and adoption is inevitable. If you hype yourself beyond what you can deliver (that's what all altcoins do) the situation can only crash due to disillusionment. Darkcoins survival, for me at least, is not dependent on whether doge goes to the moon or vert tries to chew the ltc market. Do they have anything to offer? I mean for real? I say no. We'll see in time if I'm right or not. I also believe our "survival" is guaranteed through the anonymity characteristics because it's an enormous market cap right there - but it'll have to be constantly patched for issues and developed further (IP obfuscation should be next after DarkSend - otherwise coins with DarkSend + IP obfuscation will overtake Darkcoin as a more complete package). BTC was the only game in town for quite some time . You're absolutely right about over-hyping, but I don't think anyone is suggesting that DRK do that. Personally, I don't even think DRK needs to do a whole lot - if anything - in the way of overt advertisement. Subtlety is the name of the game here. The coin is good enough to stand on its own merits, assuming it delivers on all it has promised. However, when people do come upon Darkcoin, does it enhance or detract from their experience to find that every detail (or as many as possible) has been given obvious careful consideration?

Electricity is quite expensive here in Belgium so if i can get about the same profit as LTC would give me I stay at Darkcoin. At the moment my p2p mining seems to start delivering,... not there yet, but now i get at lease 0.4 DRK per block while at the start this was 0.006. If I achieve between 20 and 25 DRK the next 24 hous I'll leave my systems here for a while. Mining Darkcoin is like letting your mining rigs going on a payed holiday

Profit on it while you can - if you want. Make no mistake, this is just a copy coin in large, it's in a different league.
Copied --> Boomed --> Pumped --> Dumped --> Forgotten
Copycoin devs just piggy back on real devs effort, zero innovation, always step or 2 behind.
Smart ones know the difference and put the money where it'll grow.
Just to be clear, Hirocoin is forked from Litecoin, not DarkCoin. I used X11 because it is a great solution but could end up being ad hoc and over looked. I am working to make X11 the next standard of hashing solution which is going to put both DarkCoin and Hirocoin at the top of the next tier. DarkCoin is going to have unique features that Hirocoin will not like DarkSend and as DarkCoin used X11 first it is always going to win the innovation crown. If anyone thinks Hirocoin invented X11 I will make sure to put them right and give credit to Evan where it is due. Hirocoin is a long term project and has been thoroughly coded, it is an excellent start to X11 to have two high quality coins. X11 gives miners a real option and it will not be long before the shortcoming of adaptive N coins will be shown. Let's not fall into the trap of segregation that many coins fall into.

Help Test DGW v2! I've got a new version of DGW and I've tested a few architectures, could some people jump on testnet and make sure it works for them? Compile this branch: https://github.com/evan82/darkcoin/commits/dgw-fixes/srcAdd this to your config: addnode= 54.198.142.12 <----This is different than it was yesterday testnet=1 Thanks!

Yah, he already posted in this thread. His marketing manager recently called Darkcoin "shady" and Hirocoin as being an "innovative" coin without the shadiness. Lulz Anyone know Hiro's linkedin profile ? I think all clone/shit devs are pretty rude and adamant. HiroS is one smooth criminal on the other hand

People always seem to want to resort to tribalism, even when it's silly and unwarranted. These boards are no different - maybe even worse, as it's semi-anonymous. I don't see how another coin adopting something like X11 or DGW is anything other than flattering to Evan and the Darkcoin team. His marketing manager recently called Darkcoin "shady" and Hirocoin as being an "innovative" coin without the shadiness. This sort of thing, on the other hand, is just ridiculous and I'd like to know what HiroS plans to do about it (if anything).

Few questions:
- Is the coin profitable? I'm see it's gaining value.
- What's the typical hashrate and coin/day you could get from a single 280x?
- Where can I download the latest mining tool for AMD, and Nvidia (for my 750ti).
Cheers!

You should be mining ~20 DRK/day, try normal pool instead of p2p. it does take 24 hours to ramp up, you're already almost there, so give it a bit more time. I tried P2pool, and didn't know that, so I gave up, then had payments coming in for another 24 hours and wondered what the heck? I'm not mining there anymore, LOL!

Lotterymining is under attack, apparently i pissed of someone that tried to cheat the pool, dont worry, the stratum is working as it should, its just the webpage having trouble loading
edit: seems like they figured out that it was no use.. pool website up again.. stratum has been running nicely during the attack
I'm always asleep during the excitement.... sigh BTW, I often have trouble loading pages here at bitcointalk. Is that my computer or the network, or bitcointalk being under a lot of load? Just wondering?

Don't fee the troll. --- So, Hiro is doing well because they are marketing the coin properly, but I think it helps DarkCoin by making X11 more popular. Originally X11 was just planned as a different hash, Evan never thought that it would consume less and generate less heat (could be interesting to know if a nVidia GPU miner has the same characteristic), but this should be a very important selling point right now, to miners it matters a lot, specially with summer coming soon, I think a new thread called "Summer is coming..." could be awesome I'll start a thread, can I use your picture?

My GPU found a lot of blocks, and a lot of orphaned. Should use testnet address. But for hashing, any address will do.
