229 mininghub
250 p2pool
251 official
1005 suchpool
2091 coinmine

I find this VERY interesting. Thank you!

If you have the time/patience, I'd love to see the same analysis done on the first 4k blocks, and then compare the two.

That's another story, because local darkcoind dosn't have tx record for the first 4k block.

I don't want to mess up with precious block explorer.

I have learned how to get those txs.
Analysis done on the first 4k blocks.

remind this.
1) both xcoin wallet and cpu miner provided at launch
2) wallet use new addreess when coin mined every time, not like pool
Those high number of block found shoud be pool.

Announcement regarding Dark.SuchPool.pw

Hi guys,

You probably noticed that some of our pool had intermittent availability issues.
Basically, our HiroCoin pool has been hit by multiple types of attacks simultaneously. We have had some Stratum DoS that we managed to mitigate as best we could, but we received some attacks through cloudflare on hirocoin's front end that shook off the entire front end server.

Combined with the stratum DoS, the wallet server became heavy and ultimately had to be rebooted because we couldn't even access it anymore.

As of now, all our pools are back up and stable except HiroCoin. Front end for hirocoin is down and will remain down for some hours by the time we come up with a fix.

Thanks for your understanding

I think one of the more mainstream features that we can add at some point is to merge the cpu miners (or their optimized code) with the qt-wallet and automate the process of mining through p2pools.

This is an excellent idea, both in terms of fostering mainstream adoption and in protecting the coin by distributing the hashrate far & wide.

Heavycoin did this well, with the cpu miner integrated into the wallet: http://heavycoin.github.io/mining.html

I'm now checking out the wallet of anoncoin, it's pretty sleek with the cpu miner option (extra button "Mining") to the right (I've clicked to expand it):

http://s30.postimg.org/gidypfsb5/walletanon1.jpg
http://s30.postimg.org/prg4zk175/walletanon2.jpg

...however due to scrypt use, it's practically worthless for them.

Something like that could be used and have 3 options, solo, p2pool (with a ready list of p2pools - perhaps pinging them to show latency) and pool.

Maybe further mining options can be provided in parallel, by allowing the user to run a DarkSend node or an IP obfuscation node etc.

+1 cool feature and ideas

This is great. Pretty much confirms that "smalltimeminer" got ~ 90k DRKs during the initial release. Which also confirms that the exchange hack was far more damaging to DRK prices since release .....

  • P2Pool merged with Chaeplin's changes to f77ee11-dirty + custom mods and live chat
  • Darkcoin daemon upgraded to 0.9.1.0
  • Still 0% fees!

Note to other pool ops: This hard fork is really easy to update. No worries like the last one - git pull is enough for P2Pool, and a simple git pull and recompile of darkcoind will do fine!

P2Pool for beginners guides. Please spread your hash rate - coinmine still has a worryingly large share of the full network hash!

Why? Please try to add value. Is there any mention of Darkcoin in this article or video?

If not, why make it viral? This thread is about Darkcoin, not Bitcoin.

In the USA, the IRS just confirmed that Bitcoin is taxable as a capital gain - its an asset.

Those who make any gains should inform the IRS or they will be facing criminal charges.

This then will apply to all crypto coins.

What's more, the government will no doubt be seeking out and testing out ways to track bitcoins in order to ensure US Citizens around the world notify and pay their correct taxes.

http://blogs.wsj.com/totalreturn/2014/03/25/qa-the-new-irs-rules-on-bitcoin/

Everyone please pay your taxes. Do not attempt to hide your crypto wealth with DarkSend. That's just not playing fair or giving the IRS a sporting chance.

This has always been obvious.  I mean, unless you make a deal with someone outside an exchange, and trust them enough (or they trust you) to give you cash for your bitcoins, then it's obvious that the government will see what you have.

in the same vain, keep records of the money you've put into cryptos, you can take that OFF your capital gains Smiley

Actually very good news, I'd been hoping they'd classify it as an asset.

Does this include mined coin or simply appreciated/depreciated value on current holdings, do you know?  I can't view it at work for some reason.

It does include mined coins.

You should still be able to take the electricity and equipment off.

yes. but then you have to declare your coin collection. That could spark an investigation. So now the government knows your wallet addresses. Once the know, they will always know as they can follow your spending habits on the blockchain, which becomes your ball and chain.

Enter stage right, DarkSend.

Come and help mine darkcoin, and get a chance of winning the lottery pool.

once a week 50% of the fees will be drawn,
to one lucky winner... is it your turn next?

Pool Pays Witdrawal fee: 0.0

Dedicated pool, we only run Darkcoin mining
DDOS Protected pool, resistant to: fake shares & scrypt ddos
Only time stratum goes down is for VERY short periods when updating stratum, or wallet
Stable Fast Server, but dont take my word for it, see what others have said in this thread

I'm a terrible LOL'er

Anyway, I love your render but they look like foil covered chocolate coins, with that edge on them.  Actually, I like that, as I LOVE chocolate coins, LOL (oops, there I go again)

It really is a beautiful render but if the coins could be made slightly thinner and the line/crease around the edge eliminated, it'd be perfect.
