What happens to the drk network when some masternode servers get hacked? If anyone can run them, do we all just trust that the individual's pc's have adequate protection??
I think DDOS attacks on the masternodes will be a big issue.

I think DDOS attacks on the masternodes will be a big issue. Absolutely! The network relies on masternodes being safe, secure, and online. When these get hacked the dark network could be in lots of trouble

I think DDOS attacks on the masternodes will be a big issue. DDOS protection was already implemented on darksend, i think it will not a big issue on masternodes

Sure, I'm going to throw all my DRK away because some idiot drew a squiggly line on a graph somewhere in the fundamentally deluded and arse-backward belief that past statistics have some causative effect on ongoing reality. Sell your own DRK mate. Maybe you can buy a nice book on astrology with the profits. Here's my own 'technical analysis' of the Mintpal order depth chart: The big green crocodile on the left and the big red crocodile on the right both eat idiots who believe in voodoo.

If one goes down, it will be quickly discovered and removed from the list and the rest will remain active.

I think it would be good if now a little correction would take place so that its not such a huge pump because than i fear that a huge dump will follow. We should avoid to have evolving this kind of pattern. So far it was one of the outstanding charakteristics of DRK to grow slowly but mostly stable over time. I hope that we will return to this soon. It is much better for your nerves and ist is much better for the coin cause the recovery from a real big dump takes very very long. Cause the people who was burned and are sitting on big losses sell on any little recovery so that the prrice can not rise for as long time. I even whould suggest to think about to postpone the release of the payment for the masternode even later than the 25th cause this will probably initiate the next hype. I think we need to avoid this scheme.
Special coins do such a quick rise towards its true vallue, then go waay passed it over the pump then go down on a dump. Litecoin went up really fast from 1 to 10 dollar.. So did bitcion. So will darkcoin where do you see its true value? i think we actually we are still far under the true value... shortly in this thread there was this: I pulled an excel sheet to check coin prices adjusted for same mintage numbers.
If all of the coins below had 10.000.000 coins in circulation (so that we can compare price per coin without having to factor in the problem of some coins having billions, other millions and other thousands of coins in circulation), the price per coin would be:
Bitcoin $570.35 Litecoin $29.77 Peercoin $4.49 Dogecoin $3.56 Nxt $3.24 Darkcoin $2.08 Namecoin $1.80 Mastercoin $1.37 BlackCoin $0.73 i dont know but i would say we could go approx 10x up this would be still under litecoin i say if we can do something to avoid a pump and dump scheme... lets do it i am shure after this big rise now there will be a massive correction ... let this happen to the coin it is good for it. Do not come in the middel of the correction with the next hype like - working masternode payment - come out with that after the correction happend

The only thing why you should sell now is to buy it back cheaper later - i don´t see any other reason why to sell. It´s like playing lottery. Sell now and you maybe sit on your BTC because you are not able to buy back cheaper. If you win you can own more DRK, if you lose you sit on your BTC. Looks like selling now is a loose loose game I like more playing win win games Buy the way, if you had followed the advise of AC2 you would be out of the game since 2 weeks now and you would damm hin selling your DRK for BTC on levels like 200k

Why I like DarkCoin By Jesse Livermore
I like DarkCoin because I can imagine a not-too-distant future where 99.999% of all available DRK is locked up in master nodes thereby making my non-master node-connected DRK be priced as I wish. Evan has successfully designed and created the most insane positive feedback loop that has ever existed in the capitalistic world.
1 question though: -Why the hell can't I buy DRK with fiat yet? (I would rather not buy through other coins' USD conversions on moolah, coinbase, etc)
JL Very interesting point. How will the masternodes receive an income if most of the coins get consolidated into masternodes? Would there be low liquidity and low volume due to consolidation? Low volume would mean low income for the masternodes? Nobody says the the money in a masternode has to be locked away forever. I can see a future where people run masternodes on a very temporary basis, meaning when they trade they suspend the masternode, but when they don't trade they activate the masternode again, etc... Masternodes should have a very jumpy ninja-like behaviour anyway, so they are not an easy target like a sitting duck. They should appear and disappear, here and there, now and then, having the maximum amount of unpredictability possible.
