The development program

Old schedule...

- RC2 (magic numbers changed to darkcoin, DGW3) : May 14th
- RC2 (masternode payments) : May 25th
- RC3 (10 DRK limit and denominated change) : June 14th
- After this, I'll find someone to vet the code and open source.
- RC4 (Bugs, security issues)
- Testing, then opensource

The masternode issues and the 3rd fork for the 25th actually messed up the schedule. I've been rewriting much of the code masternode technology (released yesterday, if you haven't updated please do!)

There's still some oddities with the election voting system that I'm going to tackle this next week. This I'll start working again on RC3 .

+ ring signatures + IP obfuscation in v2.

is .1 btc possible or too farfetched?
I'm holding for .1 Smiley I expect it to reach .1 within 90 days.

Geez I don't know, 0.1 seems really far away.. the coin will need very strong support to reach 0.1. It sure would be something though.

Can't wait for one of you geniuses to set up an ebay type dark site.
dbay
dark nation
dark bay

A cam site would also get people using drk

What do you mean by cam site?  I'll put it on the list at darkcointalk Smiley

lol well... adult cam sites. websites where people (mostly girls) go on cam nude and raise money from viewers, once the money is raised they will "do stuff". An anonymous payment would be useful to the viewers and models.
Heres such a site NSFW http://chaturbate.com/

very good the XXX industry is a key industry for the web and will also be a key industry for the distribution of any digital currency... THE main must have here would be anonymity... So it is the natural habitat of DRK!... We should try to contact a big XXX payment company and persuade them to accept DRK... BTC is inappropriate !

I would rather Mintpal add USD etc than BTC-e add DRK  Grin

mintpal is the best exchange to trade your coins, and adding USD is more good.

I can't - Darkwallet is a centralized solution in a browser plugin.

Sidechain - no thanks.

Hello,

Sorry if this kind of info has already been given, or a stupid question, but there is a lot of pages in this thread and i cannot find a formal answer to this on google...
( only found something near : https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-wallet-fees.583/ )

I'm using linux version compiled from github.
I found differences between asked to be sent and the real balance, and i found transactions with anormal fees.

Example on this transaction : http://explorer.darkcoin.io/tx/63071f80064d88ed0571fd2dcf29703fb4381bf70a87defea304cb0941f0f0de

1. Is it a tax, or a bug at this time (april 26th) ?
2. Why if we asked to send 0.40119180 DRK, then a tax of 0.59720399 DRK is added ? tax is more than 100% of the original request !
3. Does it come from the Darksend system ?
4. How can i estimate this before to send ?
5. Is there a way to disable this kind of huge tax ?

Thank you very much for reading.

63071f80064d88ed0571fd2dcf29703fb4381bf70a87defea304cb0941f0f0de tx has no fee.

Fee and dust limit config : https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin/blob/master/src/main.h#L49-L89

What is transaction fee : https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fees

Darkcoin current mintxfee is 0.001

Thank you for complete answer to baddw and chaeplin.
I'm aware of fees with crypto in general, but i thought this proportion was weird.
I can't find any transaction back to another address in the wallet with the same amount.
I'm using listtransactions method.
Does it create a new different address in the wallet or does it use an already existing address randomly ?

In Bitcoin, it creates a new address (technically the address was already in the wallet, but it never shows up until it receives change... the default Bitcoin client creates 100 addresses when it first starts up).  I am not sure to what extent Darkcoin does the same thing, but I think that it is highly likely that it does... Bitcoin has been doing this for a long time, and all alt-coins use Bitcoin code as a starting point.

In your Darkcoin-Qt wallet, do this:

Help -> Debug Window
Console tab
type "listaddressgroupings" (without the quotes) and hit Enter in the command box

This should show you all addresses in your wallet, along with their balances.

Ok, it might explain the problem.
We restored the wallet only with known privatekeys, then if thos new addresses were created before this restore, i think we lost them.
