I don't usually talk much about price, because honestly I don't really care. I'm mostly concerned with functionality and building something with real utility.
However, that's what the forums have been consumed with so here's my take on this. Darkcoin is six months old, last month we went from $0.77 to $15.00. It was literally four weeks long, and what goes up must come down. Crypto currencies grow in this way, it's actually normal. Next we'll form a base somewhere about here and things will get quiet before we make our next move to the upside.
I don't post all of the time because, I work insane amounts of time on Darkcoin. This is my job and when I'm posting I'm not coding. Plus, I'm an introvert and I really like putting on headphones and cranking out some code. It's what I do.
What's next?
Things will relax and I'll start perfecting the hard fork for the masternode payments, then RC3. When we're happy with that, I have contacts now all over the media that would love to do another article and update our progress.
Speaking of things coming down, that goes for X11Coin too. From the looks of it, you trust your money to the decentralized mixer by the way. They're pretty secretive about how it works, but that's what I gather from it. I'd love to get a response. DarkSend is trustless for a reason, you don't want the "XNodes" running off with the money.

Thanks Dev, this is a shock for people who invested at a high price. Glad you keep working on perfecting this.

Well, as I stated before I literally just returned from 2 week long vacation. Needless to say I was blown away by the attention DRK has received as of late, and to be honest it's well deserved. The amount the price increased was pretty insane just looking at the charts, so as you stated, it's not a surprise it's coming back down. With regards to the hard fork for resolving master node payments. Take your time and perfect it. Cryptocurrency investors are incredibly skittish and have a short attention span. I've been trading bitcoin for a couple years and have heard it all. People saying bitcoin was dead after it dropped from the $30 range back down to the $1 range. It was declared dead thousands of times by thousands of different people. You wouldn't know it by taking a look around today. The DRK price will fluctuate for sure, as it has with BTC. People catch a whiff of something and they react either way. Keep plugging away and do what you do best, I'm sure the end result will be something useful and unique.

Its a good point. I was thinking about that today.
The trouble is trust. you need a system with no trust.
I thought that master nodes could get paid in the same way as pools. all at once. if they are around they get a share, if not, the share gets divided up equally amongst all online. I'm sure there is a problem with that idea too, but it seemed to be easier to implement.
That's also what I thought, then I realized that all those extra tiny payments would totally bloat the blockchain, and that's probably why it would not work This exactly. Once we have "account" there must be some private key to it. Dev can say 1000 times he doesn't know it and I wouldn't believe.
There it is! That's what I wasn't seeing! Thank you so much. Sometimes I need it spelled out to understand And that's why I came to you!

I don't like the masternode idea myself (quasi-centralized anonymous spends seem just plain silly), but here's a possible idea for handling payments:
When a masternode comes online, it broadcasts its pretense to the network, and joins the back of a payment queue. Miners maintain a list of masternodes, along with the last payment time. The masternode that hasn't been paid in the longest gets a chunk of the next block. The masternode that was paid then falls to the bottom of the payment queue.
Checks could be coded into block validation that ensures the right masternode was paid, and if not, nodes reject the block.
If a coin needs dedicated nodes anyway (as every bitcoin clone does), then why not have them do additional tasks as well, like anonymizing functions for example? And thanks for those suggestions, I'm sure Evan is evaluating every option to ensure we will have the best product possible.
