Retail & Merchant Solutions.

Hi gang.  I'd like to spear head some discussion on real world useability in the merchant space.  I know we know have some logo's to post by our tills.  I know I had talked to a couple of you about promoting a POS(point of sale) system...I would like someone here with that kind of knowledge to see if there is a POS system that can be used with BTC?  I know BTC has a POS system...and it would be great to partner up with that system to promote the use of quality crypto payment solutions for merchants.  thoughts?

"Stripe" are launching in Australia, they are a competitor to Paypal and they will be supporting Crypto Currencies.

I have already written to them and informed them of DarkCoin + a small list of benefits.

I think it would be prudent to co-ordinate a succinct and well written introduction pack to use as a communication tool for potential new merchants.

Considering how well this project has been run to date, I would be surprised if Eltito isn't preparing something of the sort as we speak, however I'm sure it's better to wait until RC4 is live...

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...

definitely
better to wait that RC4 is solid, and then it is time to get out there and really promote this thing !
More Press/Magazines, Looking for Merchants/ Retail, talk to Max Kaiser and such (to get Evan on the show), ..... but RC4 has to be out and 150% solid,
so we hold a bit longer
and then ..... Boom Shakalak !! ....>>

Sounds good. I'm just looking to start some foundation work ahead of RC4.  As one of the first merchant for Darkcoin a long time back...I had very little information.  This stripe solution seems likes its the ticket...unless Evan and company is looking to build their own POS system...which would rock for sure.  I know of a couple of local businesses that would be interested in this kind of solution.  I certainly can wait long.  I'm just looking to get some footwork in while we wait for RC4.

I'm in this until my masternodes shit out another baby masternode, in a year and a half. And then ill hodl while those three fuck and spawn the fourth. If all that was being implemented in RC4 was raising the 10 drk limit it would be done. But fuck that. Darksend+ is some ground breaking shit, and as long as I'll be hodling I dont give a what about cry babies dumping for not having their half-ass RC4 when they expect it. Evan is a baller and I trust he can comfortably insulate himself from the bullshit, bc if he cared about every day trader worrying about their $1000 RC4 would be done by now, and it wouldn't be half technically as what he is steadily making progress toward. Cry babies gonna cry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2l2O-JOXG_I

Sorry, too many pages to read.

What happened at price? I missed some bad news or just traders with some panic seller?

I don't know their motivations, impatience perhaps? But there's no news specifically if that's what you're asking.

People losing patience...

It seems a lot of holders are used to developers that put the emphasis on marketing as opposed to actual development  Roll Eyes

I don't think you'll hear one long term DRK holder complain about prices coming down before RC4...

Interesting. BigCommerce is an eCommerce Web Host in Australia and they've been hawking Stripe for quite a while now. Their platform beats the pants off of Volusion and Shopify.

I start to get a wee bit light-headed when I think about all the applications for DRK post RC4 and beyond...

Multipools are dumping but they are only getting 1k to 2k of Drks per day max. Exchange turnover is about 20k to 30k Drks per day.

I think there were some people selling Drk to "profit" on cloak, which AFAICT is vapor.

The Darkcoin RC4 tests are going alright. There are no forks that I know of but the auto denomination isn't 100% yet but will likely be fixed in the next RC4 release. Other than that RC4 looks really ok to me. The 10 Drk limit will be lifted and the network should work pretty good in the main.

TBH, IDK why people would dump at such a juncture. DarkWallet does not work to the best of my knowledge plus they have one server with no incentives for people to create more.  Darkcoin has like 800+ MNs at last count, that are geographically scattered.

Btc and Ltc can never fork over to Drk due to consensus issues over block reward splitting and specifying MN threshold.

A small period of time will then be required for Kristov to do his code review before the Drk code is finally open sourced.

My best guess is that people are impatient and short term focussed.  They're trying to ride the pumps. I personally don't play that game because it's zero sum and overall I think hurts crypto more than helps.

Lastly are the Ltc investors. I really think they should consider splitting their portfolio between Btc and Drk. Ltc is a dead end. Development has halted and they offer no material tech differentiation to Btc.

In terms of Btc's price - I think Mr Lawsky put a major dampener on things. We'll see if the industry fragments and leaves NY out. I hope California looks at what NY has done and go 180 to show how it should be done.

Yeah, that's totally the problem. Not giving away free DRK in tiny, unusable quantities. That's totally it...

I prefer that DRK keep to it's core function as a Proof of Service hybrid: Do something to earn some DRKs, there's your fucking faucet.

georgem made his own faucet with animated babe gifs. Everyone got mad that he was making DRK and used prudish/slacker excuses to run him off...

Go whine about not getting free shit somewhere else.

The issue with cutting off superblocks is that it appears there is no way of stopping a snoop from recording past transactions. Just because we cut it off does not mean that someone, somewhere does not have a complete record of it.

I simply do not see the point of truncation. by the time the BlockChain is big enough to fill a 4TB hard drive of today, I'm pretty sure we'll have bigger hard drives and MNs will have been paid way more than enough to afford a stupid hard drive.

Still waiting for Multi-Entry and IP Obfuscation...

Glad to see denom working on testnet. Bang out a few dents and she's good. Have BTC ready for the douche-sells when it passes July 31.
