This post of mine from last month now appears prescient in hindsight: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg8073765#msg8073765
Pretty good forecast but RC4 works. Buggy but works. Unfortunately the market doesn't care. DW won't be out till year end at best. So current price drop surprised me tbh.

Edit: you cannot have forecasted how things have turned out, is my point.

That's probably true. If I could reliably forecast the price of things, I'd be rich. I'm also limited by my profound ignorance of coding, etc. I've never even been able to figure out how to download the DRK wallet onto my PC. So everything I say should be taken with a huge grain of salt, to say the least. That said, I still don't see the utility of an anonymizing coin when anonymizing Bitcoin wallets are right around the corner. Anyone who truly wanted to stay anonymous would prefer to own a large cap coin like BTC in order to be lost in the crowd, no?...as opposed to a niche coin like DRK with low volume and a limited number of users.

No, Darkcoin anonymizes the whole coin supply in a continuous basis, there is always people to mix with and you can do several rounds, this provides a very strong anonymity.  Bitcoin wallets and workaround solutions for a transparent blockchain coin wont compare.  Just looking at the Darkcoin blocks all denominated is impressive and soon will be even more.

Here is the version I'm on  v0.10.12.29-gf7b7e35-beta

I typed Darksend auto and this is what showed up in the debug log file:

2014-08-15 17:17:03 DoAutomaticDenominating : No funds detected in need of denominating (2)

Same here..
Please show screenshot of coin control with list mode ticked.

Did you tick enable darksend and have amount at >300. Also, make darksend rounds =1. Check whether -0.001 is deducted. Type darksend auto in console.

May as well just wait for the new update. I have the same issue Ozzie.

Hmm, maybe RC4 should have waited for release.  No release is better than a release that doesn't work for everyone.  And this isn't testnet.  People are playing with real money now.

have amount at >300

Is this a requirement?  Why do I need an amount greater than 300?

Hey, I'm trying to give this a chance but it looks like I need to wait for another update apparently.

****** PLEASE UPDATE TO v9.12.30 (Stable) OR 10.12.30 (RC) *******

This update addresses the following issues:

1.) The round > 1 error was caused by a lack of fees, because of this the network refused to accept the transactions. I've made the default darksend fee 0.0125, or currently $0.043 per 1000DRK. This means to anonymize $3450 it will current cost 0.0013%. Even with the higher fee our solution is decentralized and cheaper than any comparable mixer on the market. Also, it's good to remember this fee goes to the miners, so it will actually benefit the network and make mining more valuable.
2.) The "DoAutomaticDenominating : No funds detected in need of denominating (2)" issue was caused by something added in the last version to improve anonymity in some cases. It's fixed in the new version.
3.) This update is backwards compatible.
4.) Updated the splashscreens. A big thank you to raze!

lol you cant download a wallet and you have an opinion on price..tut tut, and lmao at the low volume comment, drk is probably the most favorite coin for all exchange owners that trade drk, consistantly perfroming daily trades of 200+ btc everyday.

I think DW is promising but Drk is here and now. We don't know how DW will handle mixing without multiple servers and what trade offs are required. A lot of unknowns. The best thing about it is that Amir is working on it and he cares about anonymity. But DRK is already functioning now. Yeah, hard one to call. I hedged my bets.

because truly anonymizing Bitcoin wallets are not right around the corner.

Why would you want that? Are you planning on selling? We all know its going to go up in the long run, let it falllll for now and buy more even if just a couple. Let it crash and burn, it'll recover.

OK updated but log shows an error:

Running darksend denominate. Return 'Error: Darksend requires a collateral transaction and could not locate an acceptable input!'

Although it seems like something is going on from the rest of the log.  Am I doing something wrong?  Or is this expected behaviour?  How long does the process take?

Edit:  Another .001 has been deducted from my balance.  Where is that going?

OK updated but log shows an error:

Running darksend denominate. Return 'Error: Darksend requires a collateral transaction and could not locate an acceptable input!'

Although it seems like something is going on from the rest of the log.  Am I doing something wrong?  Or is this expected behaviour?  How long does the process take?

Edit:  Another .001 has been deducted from my balance.  Where is that going?

→what is the fee 2.5%?
CoinGain: Hello
CoinGain: We currently are testing some new features.
CoinGain: Although it says 2.5% fee
CoinGain: There is no fee.
CoinGain: We are just building the API at the moment.
→nice. when will you add darkcoin?
CoinGain: We have decided that Darkcoin is having quite alot of problems with exchanges.
CoinGain: And DRK disappearing from wallets.
CoinGain: We have therefore decided we will not be integrating DRK.
CoinGain: We will give it a few weeks to sort out it's troubles.
→what exchanges are having problems? i have not seen drk disappearing.
CoinGain: Votes will remain saved for the next time we put DRK up for voting.
CoinGain: http://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/comments/2djmc2/do_not_use_cryptsy_with_drksend_their_support_is/
→what exchanges?
CoinGain: http://www.reddit.com/r/DRKCoin/comments/2di1h5/all_coin_is_now_unconfirmed/
→this site was started by cloakcoin people right
CoinGain: How do you assume this?
CoinGain: I already stated in the Darkcoin reddit that we do not bag hold.
→i thought i saw this was started by a cloakcoin person. am i wrong
CoinGain: Yes, this was started by a Bitcoin and Litecoin enthusiast.
CoinGain: We don't hate any coin, we just need liquidity, volume and community support.
CoinGain: I can assure you DRK will be implemented in the future.
→ok cool. i'll check back in a week or 2
CoinGain: Thank you for understanding.
CoinGain: Is there anything else I can help you with?
