Note that when he used the word DarkTor, everyone instantly know what is he talking about. That is a functionality of a good name.
We can't use the name "Tor" in the project at all it seems. So we'll have to come up with something else. https://www.torproject.org/docs/trademark-faq.html.enCan I use the word "Tor" as part of the name of my product or my domain name?
Please don't use Tor in your product name or domain name. Instead, find a name that will accurately identify your products or services. Remember that our goal is to make sure that people aren't confused about whether your product or project is made or endorsed by The Tor Project. Creating a new brand that incorporates the Tor brand is likely to lead to confusion, and commercial confusion is a sign of trademark infringement.

Good way of spreading the word too. Or since it's The Onion Router - DarkRouter, DarkOR

I like Iris. We should move away from using "dark" in our branding.

I was trying to come up with something that went in and out easily without resistance, but all I could think of was condom..... ah well, don't think that'll work though it's perfect... protects you as well!
DarkSheath? I vote for Darkland. Or DarkSkein. Or DarkBrane. DarkTopography/Topology. Or Dark(Mani)Fold. Forget the Dark bit, just call it The Manifold. Web, net, mesh, brocade, tapestry. DarkTapestry. DarkSpace. DarkMatters. DarkEnergy. DRKSpace. DarkRealm. DarkDemesne / DarkDomain. DD! Who doesn't like DD's? DarkTown! DarkZone. DRKZ. DarkWell. Darkopolis.

DarkNet is OK .. or DarkTunnel I'm in for DarkNet I second.... for DarkNet. if we are going to stick with the "dark" moniker... then sticking with it here makes sense. DRKNet/ DarkNet gets my vote... its simple.

Now connecting to DarkNet... http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/or it could be branded as a different entity than anything dark, if it was my project I'd market it around the idea of freedom and privacy rather than darkness.

Maybe we could create new branding for this, since we are talking about private internet access... It could be something like Privatus by Darkcoin, or Libertas by Darkcoin. The point is we can think beyond the word Dark. Lets have some brainstorming.

DRKNet/ DarkNet gets my vote... its simple. The problem with Darknet is that it is already a term associated with Tor, maybe we could create fresh branding, to something more marketable. Just my 2 duffs.
