Looks great. I support NEM. But watch out for competition Exo, Numus, Edge etc. all new kids. The way I see it, tech aside, each community would need a core group of supporters. Take care of them and pay no attention to detractors. I will be back. XXX

I would disagree. Exo, Numus, Edge, all unknown developers and creators, nothing released, they could all easily be scam coins. NEM has a very trusted and intelligent group of individuals involved in development.

NEM has a very trusted and intelligent group of individuals involved in development. I also disagree on the fact that NEM has MANY stakeholders thus there is no need to take care of a few. As the British government would say "We are all in this together"

I think we have a big chance to reproduce (or even surpass) NXT initial success
Nxt small number of stakeholder turned out to be advantage in manipulating prices (in nxt favor), as number of coins in circulation (on exchanges) is lower than it could have been with wider initial distribution. Add the fact that there are 4 times more Nem (and many more people will be trading on exchanges) I am not entirely sure how high would one Nem go. Plus things have changed with all crappy altcoins around. People are burnt out with buying alt clones then prices go down as developers dump big amount after initial pump. We will see how it goes, but I am keeping expectations low. I would be cautiously optimistic. Hopefully, Bitcoin and general crypto scene would be in a better state than it is now when we launch. It looks like that at the end of April to the middle of May, things will turn around quickly. So, starting in four to five weeks a dramatic shift should occur.

Can somebody point me in the right direction. Do I have to wait for the release, or can I submit a stake? Sorry for the ignorance.
You are already too late for a stake.

The initial 'call for participation' ended about a month ago. There is a waiting list to join here, which will be used to bring the total number of stakeholders to ~3000 people after the removal of sockpuppets. Unfortunately, apart from the above, you will have to wait till launch in late May to buy up some NEM. I know there are people selling their stakes, but I'd wait until the final stakeholder list is produced before buying anything; their accounts could be caught sockpuppets.

NEM is mentioned a lot in that thread! I've posted my bit for NEM. I advice everyone else to do the same! This is when the SWARM team would come in handy.

Hello all, I have been following you for quite a long time and I would love to have your coin in our exchange, we are not like any other exchange that have full of silly worthless coins. At Binary Fund we choose our crypto currencies wisely, we do our best to investigate and research a coin before adding it. Only coins that we think may have a future are added to the exchange. We don’t accept bribes or have paid voting systems. We have very few coins and we like to keep it that way but we would like to have your coin with us. www.binaryfund.com has been in Beta version since a few days ago and we are fully functional now. Please take a look at our exchange and tell us what you think. We are based in London. Please see below the explanations of Binary fund features. WHAT IS BINARY FUND? Binary Fund is a state of the art exchange platform for crypto currencies. It has been developed to meet the needs of those new to trading and experienced traders alike. FEATURES •Secure coin storage. Every coin is send to a cold storage wallet so only the Binary Fund crew can access it. •Candle stick graphs for every market pair to view the price history. •We allow bank transfer to deposit fiat into your account without going through a third party. •We have trading pairs for trading with GBP, EUR and USD. •User friendly website with adjustable market pairs. You can hide market pairs you’re not interested in. •Withdrawal through PayPal and bank transfer. •Regular competitions with crypto prizes. •Lively and engaging chat. DESIGN Binary Fund is designed with the user in mind. Trading is laid out to make it as easy and powerful as possible. With a clean, clear, concise layout even new users will understand how the platform works in only a few minutes. www.binaryfund.comLooks good! Will you add NXT and later NEM? Thanks marek3ball, we would like to add NEM with the permission of the owners and not NEXT, I think NEM will do one million much better than NEXT because of it's wonderful community, I would like to invite you all to try our exchange and let us know what you think, we will welcome your ideas and add things you think will make us better, we have competitions where we give alt coins away I came across your exchange a while ago, and from what i read, it looks pretty good. On the release of NEM, I will very likely get myself authenticated on your site. I appreciate the consideration to add NEM. Me too. If this is the only NEM-Fiat exchange on launch, they've instantly made 3000 new customers. Great news! I think ideally if NEM could have an exclusive exchange with NEM vs. the major crosses like nxt-e.com then that would be great!

I was thinking it might be handy to compile a list of stakeholders with useful skills. That way it'd be quick and easy to locate and ask for services related to their skills. Some areas I was thinking of: - Graphic design (for infographics/logos etc.).
- Web design (for... web design).
- Economics (obvious reasons).
- Programming/computing (obvious reasons).
- Public relations (dealing with the community as an official NEM representative).
- Persuasive writing (selling NEM to newbies).
- Law (cryptocurrency can often be on the blurry edges of the law; it's good to know exactly where NEM and it's various products stand).
If you want to be added to the list then I'll make a Google Doc which I'll post to here and on the Trello board.

If we mention Nem to others, it should be simple. Like a simple mention, simply to let them know it exists, let that name register in their head, and not about trying to convince them to buy in.
If they get curious they'll research it and decide on their own.
Being on this board, coming across all the latest coins, it gives me an uneasy feeling seeing so many people pump their current new copy coin, just to get others to buy in because they have lots of it. I just feel that comes off wrong.
I think the coin should speak for itself, it's innovations, what real value it has to offer.

So how many stakes are allowed per household? 1, 2? I'm an original stake holder, but I'd like to put my wife on the waiting list if possible.
Maybe we could provide photo Id, facebook or blog history to show we are different people as opposed to taking people's word for it (and using vpns).

you should drop by the audit thread. And then take a trip down to memory lane and see older posts about socket accounts coming out of people with multiple stakes
