I think if we go out of our way to invite a veteran users to have a stake, we shouldn't then demand him/her to pay a  fee... it just seems rude to me.

We shouldn't go out of our way to invite people just because they've been here a long time.

Thumbs up!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I definitely don't think any senior members should get special treatment, but they hold a power and ability to contribute, so I like the idea of senior members having a 2nd chance in at some point and I especially like the idea of anybody on the waiting list getting a chance, even a person with only one post.

There are lots of benefits to this for NEM, but I don't know a good strategy. If I had to guess, I would say wait till a beta client is out to offer them stakes. Since a beta has been released, they can make a more informed decision if they want in or not. But since they have that advantage and their risk is lower so should their share. I say maybe ½ the shares at twice the price of the last stake holder or even ⅓ the shares at three times the price.  It could be put to a vote. This would deter sock puppets as it hurts their margins but will help newbies get into something exciting and help win over veterans as they would have seen a beta. I'm not really sure if this is a good idea, it's just what comes to mind.

I agree Old Timers should not just be given a freebie when the rest of us have paid unless they are going to do some work for the coin to generate a bounty. If they do some work for the coin then yes give them stake or bounty. Smiley

I assumed 'veteran' meant a member of certain respect... coin founders, large community players etc. not just a person who's owned an account for a while. I agree with you there.

Oh yeah, definitely that. That's what Utopian said he was going to focus on. People who could help Nem.

still wait for the results.
come on ,dev

Please, read the 'updates' section on the first post. You'll find all sorts of 'results' there.

Remember, NEM is being made from scratch. A premium product requires a longer time to build than a sub-par product. Be patient!

So of the people on the waiting list, what kind of people will most likely get in? Considering what they can bring to the table. And will they have to provide solid proof that they are who they say they are?

Maybe Utopianfuture should recruit 100 good people or so.

it take us long time to wait with no new information and we do not know whether we were take as a backup investor ,we need to know the truth here.

I would recommend inviting Sr. members of this forum to participate with a share of NEM.  There is no advantage to allowing the newbie "this coin great" members who are most likely sockpuppets anyway.

+1

+100

will they get a free stake?

I think that  their  donation/ fees should   be at least higher than the last fee (0.075BTC or 750NXT) sent in for stakeholders.

now we have dates, dev plans....fee should be much higher than the last fee

I have seen the waiting list, some so called newbies are willing to even provide ids to prove they are genuine, I don't think we should discriminate. Anyway it's a good sign we have a very long waiting list, one thing they should know is that they are to actively participate and not think of their stake as an investment.

Gimre made them so to be 100% sure he'll have to answer but I'm pretty sure they represent branche of the code repo and who worked on them over time. Can't see that very well because of the size but there are actually Letters floating around that represent the nicks of the devs.

How do we get nem coins

The IPO more or less closed on February 17 (or March 2, it's nebulous). The waiting list closed yesterday. The finalized stakeholder list should be posted Soon™, and some original slots may/may not be opened, and there might be a method implemented to include a few more folks. Or maybe not. I'm in no way affiliated with NEM other than being a general supporter and getting anxious like everyone else. Smiley

Once there's an alpha, I'm pretty sure folks will be spreading NEM around so it can be adopted by as many users as possible.

There will be no mining if that's what you mean.
