Just try to reach out and politely explain your situation and hope the owner is in a good mood.

Well another newbie... Unfortunately he is a planned raper, striking a defiant pose.

Huh? What do you mean?  Huh

Is there a way to solomine using a cloudminer? I really hate relying on pools at launch. If there's an easy way to create your own pool, let me know.

(abbreviated, too long)

Hi, invactus, namely sonysasankan, how was your dinner purchased by scamming people? Stop making excuses for yourself.

Why did you create a new account on this bitcointalk? Because you feel guilty!

*Facepalm*.... Sigh... ok Sherlock.... you got me. But hey, if you need to add some sort of rationality in there somewhere, you could dig deeper and you will find me paying and rating my alter ego's rig after renting them (when there's already plenty of positive feedback before me). Coz you know... that's how I roll  Roll Eyes

Hi there my alter ego  Tongue nice to meet you. So you rented my rig before? Thanks for renting! If by any chance you rent my rig again, let me know, I will hook you up with special bonus (not gay stuff..lol). And remember to check the price before you pay. I won't refund you for being generous with me.  Tongue

=D

But in all seriousness, I definitely wouldn't consider this a scam.

Think of it like going to a store that doesn't have a return policy. You expect to buy something for $10 and upon checkout it turns out that the sale is over and the item is actually $15. If you put you card in the terminal and enter your pin it is assumed that you're aware of how much you're paying and you agree to pay it. Now you could later go back to the store owner and say "I thought this was on sale, that's why I bought it. Can I have a refund?" and the store owner can give you a refund if they want but it is up to them. In a situation like this your best bet is to very politely explain that you made a mistake and if you could possibly have the difference refunded. A human approach will usually get you more understanding as we're all human and make mistakes, while fighting and demanding will usually get you nowhere in a situation where the owner technically did nothing wrong and has no obligation to refund you other than out of the goodness of their heart.

TL:DR
It sucks that you overpaid but this is not a scam in any way. If you rent a rig and don't check the price you're renting at you can still avoid the mistake by having a second chance to check before you send the money from your wallet to betarigs. If you miss both checks you can't go and blame the owner. Just try to reach out and politely explain your situation and hope the owner is in a good mood.

That's my two satoshis...

Good one and what a lovely panda you have over there. Can i have your 2 satoshis though? *asked politely*  Grin Grin

Main rig list page: Scrypt farms are now > 10Mh/s

To us, a farm would be at least starting at 4 well equiped rigs. As such, we have bumped the limit so that, in the main list, farms are now considered with an scrypt hashrate >= 10Mh/s.
Can you put middle ground between 2 and 10 then, please? Now the gap between big (2mh is big?) and farm (10mh) is too wide.

Completely agree.... as it is there is no sorting facility. The "Big Rigs" page is a mess with rigs scattered all over from 2-9MH/s. It also makes it a pain for owners to one up each other and make the prices competitive  Embarrassed It would have been much better it it was the old subsections, with an extra section for <10MH/s rigs.

Getting feedback from here, tickets and IRC -- yes we'll introduce a "Small farms" category tomorrow!

I really hate having to wait for pools to come up on new coins is there a way to lease rigs but still mine without pools?
Sure, you just need to have the wallet on a machine whose IP can be reached from the internet, so you can point all the rented rigs directly to your wallet. Wink

I know, but betarigs adds stratum+tcp automatically so that won't work. Same goes for leaserig

LeaseRig supports solo mining - just choose rigs that don't have LRP icon.

Looks like there are still issues with fake renters. User "Siewruk" tied my machine up for 10 consecutive rentals, never paying. Just took it offline for maintenance to prevent it from happening 11 times.  This is a huge problem!

What is the current timeout period for payment?  Did you shorten it from 1 hour?

I thought this issue had been fixed?

Anyone else have this problem?

Hello,

Current timeout period is now 30 minutes (changed a few days ago).
According to his behavior and rental activity besides him, this is a one-off case (only your rig affected), probably a good-willing new user being noobish. Anyhow, he has been blocked.
