Could you please please please give the control of cancelling a fake renter to the rig owner? I just lost 4 hours of my time. I am sick of the fake accounts that block a competitive rig so that they create an an artificially higher price range. Its really not that hard.... If I have a 7MH rig going at 0.0100, all one needs is 6-7 accounts and each of them blocks all the 6-8MH rigs for a good half hour and have my 7MH rig lingering there alone for 0.0120. It will be picked up in 10 minutes literally. If not, another account just swing by and blocks them for another half hour!

I simply do not understand why rejecting a buyer is not implemented already. God know there are enough complaints about fake renters already. Having to automate and detect fake accounts and all gets really complicated and might end up with too many false positives (atleast in the early stages). Make it like ebay where you can proactively reject specific bidders from bidding on your iems. atleast give the rig owner the control of the situation UNTIL the status changes to waiting for confirmation. give the renter a reasonable countdown like some online movie theater ticket payment gateway does.... like a 7 minute countdown... just enough time to get even a paralyzed dude guiding his mom over the phone to initiate a payment. Once its waiting for confirmation, I'm sure nobody minds waiting for it to do its thing.

Agreed.  I should be able to free up my rig right now, as I am 99% certain ddink7 hasn't rented my rig, therefore this is likely a block attempt on my rig.

Now, to explain why this maybe hasn't happened yet - from a technical standpoint, if the renter were "real" they may have sent payment already or be in the process of sending payment.  If I cancel their rental while the payment is still working its way through the network, it would cause a major headache for legitimate renters and for BetaRigs who has to process the added tickets.  The great thing is, I'm still mining to my pools, so technically I'm not losing anything - I'm just not gaining as much as I might possibly if my rig were rented out legitimately on BetaRigs.

The "waiting for payment" status changing to "waiting for 1 confirmation" is pretty much instant and is seen within seconds of the payment being made. Its the confirmation that takes its time working its way through the network. But even then. to be on the safe side, a full minute can be given as a back end grace time after the renter's countdown has stopped.... you know, just in case the renter clicked on the send button half a second before it closed :p

Hey, check out my latest renter. Im sure they're a click away from payment  Grin

Haha since posting that thread i've had 5 rentals with payments not sent and the dispute in question has been refunded to the renter??

It's all very well having a good idea but actually having the staff and updates to prevent this sort of thing is a joke really.

I've had a system give constant worker resets for the entire period of a 24 hour rental, I guess that's my fault again and the renter will simply contest the order and get his money back with a days wasted for me.

Place is becoming a joke tbh

Mux seems a bit more interested in working with the dedicated pool guys who "Are not a bank" instead of working on problems that us lessors keep bringing up on this thread.

Seriously, why are you dealing with those dedicated pool idiots?  They yank the BC wallet offline after only a week of the coin being POS and say a big FU to anyone who had coins in there.  If saying "We are not a bank" helps them sleep at night then I want no part of them or beta rigs for putting up with them.

A big issue with beta rigs is people making spam accounts and mass renting out rigs so they can inflate the price and get their rigs bumped up. I have lost countless hours to renters with accounts like asdfgasdf… If anything kills this idea it would be this. Incorporate sometime of IP ban for repeat offenders. Having an option to cancel the order would also be nice.

This is NOT going to be resolved unless Betarigs implement a BTC wallet and accept funds into it for instant confirmed payments and until then, I'm done with this.

First, I love betarigs and Mux is awesome.

But I agree that something has to be done about all these "Rented: Waiting for Payment" issues. My rig has been effectively "locked" for fourhours now because of people renting and not paying. It seems like this would be a VERY easy fix...if a zero confirmation transaction isn't *detected* within 15 minutes, cancel the pending rental. Why can this not be done?

P.S. My last five supposed-renters were named: qweerwqq, 3fsdf234fLOLz, Renter1011sss1, fdsadfsdfsd, XDSDZXZX. Yeah, pretty sure those aren't legit renters.

Hello!

Yes indeed there was a wave of fake renting this morning, most of which was shot down.
I have tightened restrictions and will be likely to tighten them again soon.

We do are looking at this, and will be taking additional measures soon.

For anyone wondering I have spoken with the rigs owners and they have added some extra time to the contract and fixed the problem.

Was not sure, and didn't wanted to switch pools. But got it now. Thanks

Warning: Do not rent rigs from coinminer, you will can scammed and betarigs doesn't care

Rented a couple of rigs from coinminer. His rigs behaved completely unstable with hashrate going up to advertised, then back to 0, back to advertised etc. He then claimed that his rigs were running fine and that my pool was unstable but this most certainly couldn't be true because other rigs from betarigs were completely stable. Only his rigs did this weird wave pattern in hashrate and all of his rigs did it (they even did it in sync some times). He then proceeded to sent me a photo to 'proof' that his rigs were hashing properly:

https://i.imgur.com/zRG8hrB.jpg

As you can see it's set up to mine at multiple pools which corresponds with the behaviour of his hashrates. When I filed tickets for the rentals betarigs blamed it on my pool despite all of my evidence that it was clearly not pool related and even told me that I shouldn't have posted such bad reviews for his rigs.

So I'm just warning everybody here: If you're renting a rig from coinminer you'll get half the advertised hashrate at best and betarigs will choose the side of the (scamming) rig owner.

From what I see in messages, the best customer service comes from the rig owners themselves Wink

Hi Mux,  there is a problem with SSL cert on your website (something with CloudFlare certificate).

We indeed switched to full SSL -- I heard from someone issue with the Cloudflare SSL cert; she just rebooted his browser and it was well.
Is it still a problem for you?
