Question .

For the past 2 blocks my status page has shown "Approximately 0.00000000 BTC remaining to enter payout queue. Maintaining your 3 hour hashrate average, this will take at least another a few seconds at current network difficulty of 47,589,591,153.63.".

Also, before the last block was found, my estimated change did not get applied to my unpaid balance, even though it should have been more even.

What's going on with the pay system!?

SO it's not just me, i just don't know how to pin it down and thought I understand how the pay system worked with this pool and my pay stats haven't seemed to change for all most a week.

Also, now AFTER 2 block were solved, it says I am 142.35BTC BEHIND the payment queue... WYH? I was at 138BTC BEFORE the last 2 blocks..

 mine says that Approximately 0.11827577 BTC remaining to enter payout queue. but and i hope it is because Eligius  routine maintenance.


my payout should be  0.16827577 BTC or around there and again i hope it is because of the maintenance, if not its time to move on and form a new strat for me any way .

SO it is suppose to after each block Ive been seeing nothing, in fact i think it said once for me i was at  0.2 or around there then the block finished nothing went in to the as of last block . as i said i have no idea how to pin it or prove  it but wait for others to complain then that gives me idea on how to explain it.



This is my last try with them I'm watching my number when these two blocks finish and nothing moves time for me to call it. and only have one S5 here .

The number I see as payment supposedly accumulated vs payment that is "theoretical" shows that Eligius had 60% luck.
Is that so-I would appreciate some numbers.

Thanks for the numbers. I guesstimated 60% in the last 7 days, you got 61.7, so close enough.
I am curious as to long periods of underperformance as far as luck is concerned: 85% vs 99% in the last 90 days.
How statistically likely this is?
Did Eligius ever had 115% luck for 90 days? I can't remember if it did or not.

Wow, that was a lot of to-do about nothing... Look at any block explorer and tell me how many "empty" blocks you find. I've never seen one, though I know they can theoretically exist. Just because of this conversation, I think I'll pay more attention to it. but seriously?

You forget that during the first year of mining there were actually no transactions to process at all. The correct number should be for the last year or two only and it will be around 1-2% probably

I wonder if a plot of cumulative empty blocks vs time since previous block would be interesting.

See link I posted above, it's a little higher than 2% recently, but not much:

8 of the last 189 blocks are empty.  25 of the last 1000 are empty.

This time it looks like yesterday someone pointed 2PH to eligius and since then hit 4 of the last 8 blocks found by the pool.

If I take a "normal" calculator, the average result for 2 PH should be about 21 coins a day, i.e. a little bit less than a block.

"These" PH found four blocks in 2 days, i.e. way above the average.

If I take the same calculator (alloscomp) and put in the 8 PH Eligius has at the moment, a little bit more than 3 blocks should be the average per day.

During the last couple of weeks, the luck wasn't very high. So this may be a coincidence. But when I look how the difficulty is currently rising, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a test run from some manufacturer for a new chip.
