Thank you! I hope you'll finish stats soon! I used Eligius for several years and still there! I'm sure that you'll fix it ASAP! Best Regards!  Wink You're not along, remember it!  Cool

Indeed, you are not alone! Thank you.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Hi

I don't bother with the protocol specifier - for me its just...

/usr/bin/cgminer -o stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -u 17BHMcuCNmo8REbmQyaLLqwGWbqX7jbH2P

...that's the linux command (hence the /usr/bin and no .exe)

Finally got the block.   Cheesy
I was just perusing which pools are signalling segwit yet and notice this one is still not signalling segwit (though I recall you saying something about doing it at some stage in the future?) And it's an empty block despite being almost 2 minutes after the previous block D:

I'm not really sure what that fork stuff means or will mean but when looking into that I found this link:

I'm still mining with Eligius and I've been trying to give benefit of the doubt, exercise patience and stick it out here, but I'm seriously starting to consider pointing my miners somewhere else since the updates are few and far between and there is no definitive timetable for when everything will be back up. Sorry to hear about all the troubles with the transition, but this is really dragging out and getting tough to wait on with so many other pools out there.

I'm also curious about the question asked about segwit. Some big pools have committed themselves recently to support particular scaling solutions one way or the other. I think I also read some pools are letting miners vote their individual preference, but I couldn't find anything regarding it at all when searching this topic or on eligius.st

I wonder if it's viable to revert back to the prior
Version with working stats until the new system
is really ready for prime time.

I agree the pool is less and less relevant.

I'd move but my miner is remote w/o ready console
access. ( at a house with excess solar )

At very least that is a sweet and ideal power situation!

At this point it would be somewhat more difficult to go backward, since it would require redoing all servers again.

As mentioned many times, the pool itself is fully functional (as evidenced by our last block), just the front end is not done/working yet.

I'm likely going to just do up a temporary stats front end at the next opportunity just to have some basics available while work is done on the full setup.

That would really be great, as it is kind of unnerving to not know what the miners are doing: Are they actually doing some useful work with all that electricity or are they just creating heat and a lot of noise. There is the off chance of local misconfigs etc. It just heps to know things *are* working. So, a basic stats page would be great... At this point it is not even possible to see the total hashrate  Undecided

I would really appreciate something temporary....  my miner is remote and I don't have remote access to it and I was always checking that stats page daily to make sure it was still mining....  I actually got a slightly bigger miner to replace it but I'm reluctant to because I'm worried about not being able to watch it's stats frequently.  As of right now, unless I'm in the location that my miner is I have no way of knowing what's going on.

Can we get a temporary solution? Or can we get the old system back until the new shiny thing is ready? Surely there is a working copy of the old system available somewhere? What is the current hashrate of the pool? How long to wait for a payout? I am not willing to point my miner to an unknown pool, without any idea how long to wait for a payout.
