Add a known node manually to the config file, then restart litecoin, this does the trick (sometimes). Once it started downloading you can then take out the node from the conf file.

I find this alt-currency interesting out of all the others I've researched.
It does profess a major advantage over Bitcoin with speed of the transaction. (that is of a complimentary nature)
From a development standpoint cannot deny how far it has come from it's inception.
If one were to add one sentence line to promote Litecoins in Forum Signature, what would it be?
Something like....?
"Litecoin, the Silver to Bitcoin's Gold. Find out more here: (org address)"
"Litecoins, A Lighter Version of Bitcoin! Find out more here: (org address)"
or ??
Considering investing in Litecoins as a "late early" adopter.

There is another hot topic - multisig transactions for better wallet security. What if litecoin implements BIP17 proposal? The bitcoin crowd seems to be slowly converging on BIP16. There is a heated debate over here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=61125.0This might bring some life and interest back into litecoin and it will truly compliment bitcoin by selecting a competing solution. I think I have posted about it here a few days ago, but nobody seemed to pay attention. Coblee, what do you think? |

I find it interesting that the price of LTC is rising faster than BTC is falling. Are people using LTC to shelter their BTC profits while the bears have the BTC market in a downward trend?

The Digitalis Open Transactions Server now supports LiTeCoin. Thus LiTeCoin tokens (digiLiTeCoins aka dLTC) can now be traded there, exchanged for any of the other supported assets, used as the currency of choice for stocks and shares to be traded there and so on. That is, it can serve as a LiTeCoin stock-exchange as well as a LiTeCoin currency-exchange. Currently though none of the companies being considered for stocks/shares to be traded on the exchange happen to be LiTeCoin based, but who knows, maybe that will change... -MarkM- |

Yeah, but you can also mine decently enough with some APU or some $100 GPU. That's some cheap supercomputer  (and that provides much more value in BTC than some quad core CPU provides in LTC). |

I think it'd be awesome to have that, at least then you could say who its from and such. |
