Woah what the heck is this all about?!  Shocked  Explanation plz!!

Just a bit of fun I had while opening some A&G boxes last year. Since the A&G product has lots of non-baseball cards in the mix, I thought it might be cool to pull a mini doodle card...so I pulled a mini doodle card. Then I sent the card to PSA. Grin

Regards,
Me

lol that is not a full explanation good sir. Did you open the pack then reseal it??

We are going through the cycle with the #83 crypto card where certain cards will need to score a 10 to attract attention of the trade up collector.  We know that the black mini's are near impossible to get that 10 but, the brooklyn backs and no #'s are much easier to achieve a 10 and that would be what the trade up collector would be looking for.  The # 1/25 of the brooklyn back carries a nice little premium but, #2 through #25 would not so much and all would need to score a 10 to bring in the next level collector.  The red mini is so rare it has an excitement without any score needed.  Just a few thoughts for the day Roll Eyes

I respectfully disagree with much of the Brooklyn Back statement. Sure, like any other baseball card, the #1/25 might sell for a slightly higher premium (up to $100 maybe), but it shouldn't be much more than the other Brooklyn Backs. Any card that is rare (/5, /25, /50, /100) should sell at a fairly similar price, regardless of the particular #. (Baseball cards are kind of fungible in that way.)

Trade-Up is not a cycle, it's a constant, imo.  Tongue

LOL Agreed. Smiley

Chris

Cool Looking at the number of graded A & G X black mini's #83 and the rare amount that come up for sale I seriously doubt there were more than 50 ever printed.  If you are one of the lucky owners of one I would hang onto it.

Fair warning on buying single packs - the high value ones pre-pulled.

Normally,  you can offset high cost by selling autos, framed relics, etc. I bought a ton of single packs and not one hit.  :-(

The lesson to be learned- Just buy boxes (or cases)

I just reviewed the PSA population for the ginter x inserts and not one red mini has scored a psa 10.  I thought it would only be with the black mini's but it looks like the red ones are having a difficult time also.  Oh well!!  Roll Eyes

You may wish to revisit the PSA website. According to its Pop Report, the Greg Maddux, Buster Posey, and Mookie Betts red minis all scored PSA 10.

Chris

The crypto rookie has cemented the future legacy of the 2018 X. These other Reds are special in turn as well.

Agree, just like the 1952 Topps, Mickey Mantle cemented that set, and the 1986 fleer was cemented by Michael Jordan.  I wonder if the 2019 Allen and ginter x will have a future legacy or will it be eggnored.   Only time will tell.   Good luck fellow card collectors Shocked Shocked

Getting 30 million likes on social media surpassing a photo of a baby does not guarantee eggceptance as a coveted collectable. IMO
