This know your customer is not for investors but only for the TEAM ICO.
They are just making sure that they will not have an investor in a restricted country.
Video call is just the same of ID verification! both are not good to investors identity.

using the video call facility for KYC verification is very possible, but this requires a long time, because the DEV must make a video call to each participant of the campaign and investors. this takes a very long time because they are not likely to receive video call calls at the same time

yes agree with you, it must be very troublesome for dev and also investors. and most importantly it all takes a lot of time, I'm sure if this is done it can take more than a month just for KYC verification

i think thats not really work with attracting more people or investors to join like ico's or a bounties. and aside of that so many bounty hunters are quitting or transfer the other projects that has not need kyc or any documentations.

I haven't seen any ICO that implement video call KYC and hoping that it's not going to happen anyway I'm not into KYC much more on video call that's too much for privacy concern and besides these ICO's are not compliant also so why should we, it's unfair.

That's possible. A year ago I participated in a bounty, the tokens of which were created on the Waves platform. So I couldn't figure out their wallet. But when I finally figured out, I received a video call, where I had to show my face and passport. But I certainly did not do it

But sometimes some people are not comfortable doing this, like me, I prefer uploading my documents rather than a video call kyc, if they will scam even video calling can screenshot our documents so we can't really avoid it if they want to.

Now this is just going too far. You have already collected their ids for confirmation and now a video call. I think that that the kyc requirments are just getting more ridiculous but the day. But looking at it from another angle. if they can use the video call for the confirmation and do not ask for the ids of the people then it might be better

I guess that could be worth a shot mate. I mean uploading your documents to unknown people and without knowing who is receiving it can be dangerous. Many times people are getting out of the ICO because they think its insecure to make such upload where you are giving full detailed identification to the people you dont know. This can also lead to misuse. I think with video calls you can at least see their offices, real working staff and things like. I know fake set up can be done but on the bigger scale it could be more convincing to have these verification to at least give some transparency in the process.

Maybe I will prefer the video call option for KYC as it is currently. The uploading of documents is what I think I hate most. This is because the documents can easily be reused for another purpose.

That is possible, But that kind of idea wasn't need. Uploading our info's about us is enough. So if you really wanted that procedure we need a developer that can make apps for that thing. So obviously they have a lot of processing before it works.

I was also asked whether I'm part of the LGBT lol, I don't know how they all connect this but whatever. it wont be effective anyway, someone could just hire a homeless guy or whoever in need of money to fake the video verification.
With KYC it's your real identity thats going to be verified but with video everyone can fake it.

like it is too excessive if KYC verification has to make a video call, actually the usual way such as providing documents is sufficient as long as the document requirements are many and every user must be tracked starting from ip address and mac address, I guarantee it can reduce the action fraud

i dont like kyc at all. what is the meaning of sharing private informations for unknown people. why would i trust ico teams? isn't investing enough for them. isn't it ridiculous to demand kyc from investors? oppositely investors should request kyc from team members to understand that they are not fake.
