Watch they're forking the algo to SHA256 Maybe x13? We're actually working on reverse engineering Einstein's neural network into a working algorithm that uses atmospheric static coupled with quantum states as an encryption key. It's currently in alpha state, but hopefully, the guys at NASA can give us a hand with the atmospheric data so that by the end of May we have a beta product ready for implementation. We're 95% sure that our algorithm will be truly ASIC resistant! Wait what?? That sparks more interest in me then the other news! Also, i suggest you guys don't go in chatboxes on exchanges to hype up this kinda news anymore. I mean its good news, but its not the type that sparks short-term price increases. People are gonna think yall just trying to get a pump going to dump (which I know isn't the case, but still) idd prices just fell 150 sats.

I think no matter what we announced somebody would have been disappointed, the nature of the market. There is a certain irrationality to the market and expectations. How people are going to take it depends on if they are in it for the short or long term. I also think people keep forgetting we are announcing our finalists tomorrow, there will be voting, a winner, and at the end of voting we will be going through our first halving.

Just so you guys are aware, this legal NPO opens many doors for the foundation. Now were eligible for grants and able to contact other NPO's in hopes of building major long lasting relationships. When we contact organizations like experiment.com and the likes, they'll be more inclined to work with us knowing this is a NPO and were not just looking out for ourselves.
I know many of you may have been expecting other news but you really need to realize how this will effect us for the long term. Now we can open bank accounts and not rely on Christine's credit card to make donations. I dont know how many other coins are strictly run by a NPO but I doubt there are many if any. Block halving is coming up in a few days along with our next donation. I cant tell how awesome it will be to be able to cut a check from the einsteinium foundation and start funding science in a more legal way.
I hope you guys are happy with the headway being made and if you have any questions fell free to post them here.
This is just the beginning guys, remember this coin is less then 50 days old and is already on the road to funding our future with the future of currency.

The news came and I ran faster than string vibrations to sell my overpriced EMCs.... but I promise to buy them back for lower later today when things have settled. Its indeed long term news!

You could mimic the effect of the multi-pool easily with charitable cash and alt coin donations. So the way it would work is that any collected donation to include other alt coins, cash, etc, would be split into the appropriate percentages; divvying out portions into assets as needed. For example, a one hundred dollar donation could be split into separate holdings that would consist of btc, cash, and our coin emc2. This would in a sense be a by back program for the organization at which anytime emc2 coins can be liquidated or held for future investment. Another example, emc2 investors or bag holders could contribute scraps from there mining endeavors. You could accept them all. They would immediately be converted to btc in turn sold for cash and/or be used to buy more emc2. The program would add constant buy support and as coins become more and more rare the price would eventually keep rising.

It's hard to tell. Some would think after halving, price would increase to compensate the coin reward reduction. However, if price does not increase, less people would be inclined to mine since profit is halved as well. That would suck big time! Anyway, EMC2 is doing great. I have not seen it's pumped to the moon then dumped to the core of the earth like many other coins. Instead, it's steadily growing. It's the only coin I trust to hold some for the future. I wish all the best for this coin, for the foundation and the wonderful community we have.

It used to easile be traded for 200+ sats even on a bad day. When it halved, instead of the prices doubling, the miners left for other coins that could be sold for more profit. The whole miner psychology is usually never long term. Its to be sold in 2-3 days and if next day you made half the coins, but nobody want to pay double the price for it, its on a downhill path. Profit calculators websites will further accellerate it.

Almost exactly the same time as the halving (and the start of the price drop) is when Doge was changed to be 5% inflationary forever. I think that is the real reason for the long downtrend.

EMC2 has too much going on and you will end up chasing it like people did with blackcoin. -tb-

Being able to create a bank account as an npo is actually gonna be real nice. Team members wont have to deal with using their own money once donations start getting larg. AND its gonna make things even more transparent about where the money collected is at all times, making future investors more comfortable as well

I would be a fool to buy it once if it starts dipping after the halving. There is basically no return from there unless a "speculation friendly" announcement is made for the traders to show interest. A majority of the miners are already lost to other coins... prices going up will be completely dependent on hype and announcements then... and I simply don't think EMC long term type values are in sync with traders looking for the best time to buy/sell and hop trains without getting burnt.
