I'll pay for an updated block explorer and keep it paid as long as there is development. That can be my part. Just get me the info on whoever you want to use.

Lurking, Mining, Trading/Buying.
Looking forward to making a little time to promote.
A thought was to print out the Bill of Rights on a decent sheet of paper, with a paper wallet printed on the back to give away at the local gunshows and see what happens.
Will the new wallets have paper wallet printing capabilities?

Printing paper wallets is not really a wallet function, it is actually just a printer app that just creates keysets and prints them out.  There is no coins assigned to said keyset until sent to them by a wallet.

It was considered to be added to the latest wallet, but decided to be later, if ever, as it involves printer drivers, etc.  There's apps that do it a lot better than the wallet could for the amount of work to wedge it in there, and it would bloat and slow down the wallet as well.

Right now, core functionality is the key.  If you really want paper wallets, PM me and I'll dig up and send you the info on how to make them.

Will do.
I realize that there are some wallet generators out there, but I have a particular idea in mind on layout where that design doesn't work well and definitely would appreciate the assistance.

Is there some kind of trick to solo mining? I have added a conf file and still nothing.

I believe that for now, you need to use a pool until there are some updates to the wallet.
Some things changed when it went to NeoScrypt.

I am using:

There may be some others.

With the new block explorer working, I assume that we will jump up a couple places on coinmarketcap when the actual supply is correct.

We must be able to solo mine and have multiple pools. Developer, are you solo mining with the new wallet?

I assume that you're trying to solo mine with the latest public version of the wallet, where solo mining doesn't work.

That was repaired in the version of the wallet that I'm looking for people to beta test.  Wink

May I suggest that if we switch algorithm, to consider a cpu-only variant? One that takes advantage of AES-NI in most modern cpu processors that everyone has, so everyone can mine, even those without GPUs or ASICS.

I think the wallet should be updated at least every 6 months, with forks announced way in advance, minimum of 2 weeks notice (but I'm sure there are oldies who don't even check that often.)

I have to disagree. I don't see anything wrong with Neoscrypt. The argument that everyone would be able to mine GUN with a CPU is not true either. We live in a world were many households are completely run on tablets, smartphones, and streaming devices. I believe in the future this will be even more so. The network hash is growing so lets just see where it goes.

Note: I'm not just saying this because I have lots of GPUs. I get to see a lot of households in my profession and there has been a major decline in PCs overall in the last 5 years. Unless you can find a way to mine on XBox One, PS4, Roku, and other streaming devices I believe your argument is invalid.

Neoscrypt is a fine algorithm, the fuckup is in the implementation..  It's a pain to downgrade to this driver, upgrade to that driver, can't mix generations pf GPU's on the same computer because this version of miner doesn't work with that GPU, bla, bla, bla...  We're used to one miner for ATI and a different one for Nvidia, but needing 3 different miners just for different generations of the same card is ridiculous.  It takes it out of the hands of the every-man, when it was supposed to make it easier because even older GPU's could mine a worthy amount, and puts it right in the profitability chart for the farms.

What we would switch to, has a lot less bearing on the outcome..  Whether we go CPU based, GPU based, or ASIC, if the coin seems profitable, there is a farm out there that will jump on it.  And there will be people that are upset that we didn't choose the algo they they had a farm ready to jump on.

What is best for the coin in the long term, is to attract the widest group of miners, by not making it a PITA to mine by having to jump through hoops to get it working like has to be done with neoscrypt.

While there is a trend for a lot of people to have mobile devices instead of personal computers ... I think a lot of people would prefer to do their work on either laptops or desktops, as in those who do any word processing or spreadsheets kind of work.

The widest group of people (not miners) would be on these mobile devices, but making a coin that can be mined by phones or tablets would simply make it easy for Intel or AMD chips, and even easier on GPUs.

I'll take a guess that most households would have at least one normal desktop or laptop computer, or at least the ones who have guns, or are interested in guns.

The farm people won't care what algo GUN uses, they will simply farm on the coin that they already have equipment for.

If a coin is CPU based, the most likely scenario is someone will buy a farm on Amazon E2C or something similar, if the costs of buying that power is less than value of the coin mined. Or some malware will control a zombie bot-net. Or some admin of some school or company ...

For disclosure, I have sold all my bitcoin asic miners, and I have sold all my old 5 GPU rigs; the only thing I have left is this laptop, which mined 2 blocks of GUN the week Neoscrypt was introduced, from a hotel, on vacation.

I am going to buy a desktop soon, because I'll need it for my MCSA/MCSE/CCNA lab work. It's not a farm, but I would put it's idle power to good use. If ever I will buy a GPU, it's only to play a 3D game in ultra high def mode, or to do some video editing.

Oh, I just solo mined a block right now! On this newer laptop I got this year. Using only two threads, using the wallet. Hahahahah. Nice. I think I will leave this mining overnight and see if I get another block.

Yeah..  lol

I have discussed thoroughly (and even did some experimentation) with my buddy the possibility of making a coin that could specifically be mined by pads & phones, we eventually shot down for several reasons.  That was only one of them.

Same here, left two different systems running yesterday and managed to find a block using the in-wallet miner on both.
May be silly, but those 400 GUN just might feel a little more valuable than the rest to me.

Well, everybody gets lucky sometimes..

I decided to hold off on releasing the new wallet until it had some testing done by other users, and there is at least one bug to be fixed before public release.

Nothing like feeling justified in a decision..  Smiley
