Since I joined the cryptocurrency world and even this forum I have seen something that people always do that I think its not the right way. People always compaire ETH with BTC telling us that ETH is the best cryptocurrency. I really doubt that because looking at these two coins, although they are all blockchain based currencies but to me BTC is doing far better than ETH. BTC was created before ETH but look at the performances and judge it yourself. I really do not want to talk much about this issue. Guys what do think about what I am arguing about?

for many years now whenever newbie advertisers want to hype up their altcoin they start comparing it with bitcoin and they usually do it by saying "it is better than bitcoin". in case of ETH this has always been a point of advertisement for them trying to fool newbies into thinking that they have struck gold with ETH if they buy it. they even convinced them to pay high amounts of money for it at high prices telling them how it will surpass bitcoin price!!!
and again for years we have seen the pumps of altcoins that do this type of advertisement and the following dump that bankrupts all those newbies who listened to the ads...

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

You want people to stop comparing ETH and BTC but you just said on what's better which is correct and undeniable but I think you should be neutral on this. I don't even know why this is an issue to you since you don't want to talk about it. People have preferred coin so its obvious if they are comparing ETH to BTC then expect that their portfolio is full of ETH so let them say what's on their opinion.
Are you annoyed with those people that keeps on saying that "ETH will replace bitcoin"?

I agree without a doubt that bitcoin is better than ETH in some areas like price, demand and popularity but we should understand that technically ETH is much advanced when considering the speed and usability but because bitcoin was developed nine years ago so the time that ETH was developing the digital world had advanced techniques and methods but still bitcoin remains as the king in the crypto world |

there is nothing wrong with comparison, specially when you are comparing two cryptocurrencies. there is also nothing wrong with having a preferred cryptocurrency and bag holding it. however, what is wrong is when your comparison is ignoring every fact there is and only sticks to illusionary hypes to fool others. for example when people that OP is talking about are comparing the two coins they only say "ETH is faster than bitcoin" they never say this being fast has created issues such as more orphans, a gigantic blockchain which makes it impossible to sync your full node with the network and on top of that this "fastness" has not solved anything, the ETH network is still congested! and that is called "comparison". |

It's inside the human nature to compare things.People compare bitcoin to gold,fiat,stocks,altcoins,etc...
If bitcoin is really better than ethreum,then why do you bother with all the people making BTC/ETH comparisons?Just ignore them.They are wasting their time(and your time) with useless arguments.

Those who tend to compare the two any opportunity they have got, is just a way whip up sentiment that does not exist. I have seen it so abound in the altcoin section of the forum and especially during the times that bitcoin price is witnessing some challenges. Its even so ridiculous when ICO that is in pre-sale period that they are not sure its going to survive beyond that period are easily quick to claim that they are coming with the next bitcoin and I wonder if the standard set by bitcoin is that easy to surpass. For ETH and BTC I strongly believe they can co-exist in peace because they both offer solutions to the community that is still unravelled in the crypt world. |

Bitcoin never had a match and it never will. It has its own standing in the market. Even if all coins fail, Bitcoin will still stand strong. It also has the first mover advantage. Bitcoin is the reason why Blockchain was created. This forum is the major contributor to bitcoin and surely bitcoin will live forever. |

People will always like to compare qualities of good products or items with others just to get some kind of differences between the two products. Comparisons are not a bad thing or wrong to do, but adding wrong speculations to it is what makes everything wrong. People just want to give ETH some standards that is why they compare it to Bitcoin. Bitcoin is like the pacesetter of all cryptocurrencies and its the best option for comparison.

comparing btc with eth is not useful, as you say bitcoin and ethereum both have advantages and disadvantages. but it is impossible if eth exceeds btc, because btc will always be the best king and coin |

What is wrong with comparing Ethereum with Bitcoin? I don't really see anything wrong with that. Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies and every crypto coin wants to be like bitcoin. Most of the blueprint of cryptocurrencies are modifications of that of Bitcoin. In fact, it's a healthy thing for Ethereum by comparing it to Bitcoin. |

the funny thing we always see topics doing this so called comparison but so far i have never seen any of them actually comparing the two. the topics are always pretty much the same! it starts with saying something along the lines of bitcoin is bad, ethereum is good so lets buy ether and the starter of the topic reeks of loss as ETH got dumped while he was bag holding!

Bitcoin and Ethereum are two different projects. It is not possible to compare them. Bitcoin has a monopoly since it was the first cryptocurrency to appear. Ethereum is also an interesting project, the question is whether Ethereum will one day unleash Bitcoin. Personally, I do not think so. Bitcoin is far too far ahead of other altcoins to suffer from competition.

Even I do feel, it has become a trend nowadays. People especially the newbies in the community have made it a common thing to compare these altcoins and bitcoin. ETH is one of the best running altcoins these days but there is no need to draw out any kind of comparisons between these coins. Both have their separate position in the crypto currency market and accordingly one outshines the other in opinion of the community. Actually bitcoin has been in the highlights for so long and investors have reaped most out of it. But obviously you should have diversified investment portfolio, so you cannot entirely depend upon bitcoin only. Then there are these altcoins like ETH which can become a part of yopur investment portfolio.

Both bitcoin and ethereum have big contribution on the development of all cryptocurrency but the value of each differs and because of that people have a choice to choose which is better for investment. Bitcoin is the foundation of all digital currency and ethereum is now that supports other projects. Both have different functions but both are needed in the market. |
