Shame for Switzerland, really bad penalties from Schar, Akanji and Vargas. Sommer saved 2 after saving 10 shots before that, I thought it would be enough - all Swiss players shot them really well against France.

In the other QF Hazard not even on the bench for Belgium and Chiesa finally starting for Italy.
Belgium looks stronger to me but the bookies favor Italy. Let's cheer for a good game at least, the 1st one was a bore.

I also acknowledge Switzerland's suitability with Spain even though they have been pressured by the barrage of attacks but Sommer was able to deny it even that was a great save by Sommer the defender can't do anything if Sommer is not more aggressive in the match, I hope Switzerland can win the penalty shootout he deserved the French penalty shootout but this time made a big mistake for his shooter who missed 3 penalties and made the players cry because they couldn't get away with this dramatic result.

Switzerland almost repeated the success they achieved when they beat France in the round of 16. But unfortunately, this time they failed to beat the Spanish goalkeeper. I think they were superior in defense so there wasn't a single goal that Spain managed to score throughout the game except for that own goal. Spain have proven that they are better than Switzerland with the way they play and congratulation to the matadors who made it to the semifinal first.

Honestly, Switzerland is better than Spain, and had everything to win the game, unfortunately several players missed the penalties.

It was a great game by Switzerland and Spain was disappointing even when they were facing against 10 member Switzerland and Unai Simón helped Spain in the penalty shoot out and he had two brilliant saves when the pressure as on him.

On the other hand, Spain proved not to be a great team as expected.

I was surprised that they struggled to score the goals even after they had two back to back 5 goals scored matches and when they reached the crucial stages they are struggling which is not a great sign going into the semi final.

It's why I said that this game can be a draw, and it was! I can't agree more with 3meek, Spain will have to change some things if they wish to do something more, today they had luck, Switzerland was worse than them at penalties! We can't say that Spain was better in this game, after all, it was 1:1 even after extra time!

Italy is taking a lead for now with 0:1, it will be interesting now... can they keep this advantage until the end... I just placed another live bet on Italy to qualify! I am not sure will we see another extra time or not!

When the game headed to penalties I really doubted Spain chances looking at how many penalties they've missed during the group stages, but luck was on their side because a Switzerland that scored all five penalties against France missed 3 this night.

Real stroke of luck at the end for Belgium. Soft penalty to get them back into the game after it already looked like Italy is running away with it. I am really glad Insigne managed to hit one of his trademark strikes, he tried that shot several times on this EURO and he deserved that goal.

To be honest I wanted France to be against Spain today in the quarter-finals, but the penalty has changed a lot of fans' expectation. Obviously I think it's very difficult for Switzerland to reach the final because they are the underdogs. Switzerland have been dazzling and surprising in the uero this time around, their strong defense and style of play are hard to beat.

I had my hope up after Switzerland managed to hold it until the penalty shootout even with only 10 players and on top of that, Busquest and Rodri missed their penalties which makes it even more plausible that Switzerland would win but dang it was really bad though

Btw today's games weren't as dramatic as the previous games and favorites have delivered which makes the next round of games hard to predict, but I have a good feeling about Italy pulling something this off of this tournament because they have transformed their play style from the usual defensive type, todays Italy team is more attack minded which is a good sign.

i really thought Switzerland will qualify after Spain missed their 2 penalties, but somehow they showed the complete opposite of what they did in the penalty shootout against France, it's a bummer for them, they were so close.
