It is true, a favorite club can be defeated by a weaker club. The real example is Dortmund defeated by Ajax today. There were many previous matches that implied the favorite team possible to be defeated. We can say it is the beauty or charm of a football match. A weak team doesn't always be defeated, they always have a chance to win or destroy the favorite teams.

Ajax is no weak team Pal, they've been their league Champions for sometime now, I'll only side your claim when you say in terms of Champions League they haven't performed as expected.
A total of four goals against a very good side as Dortmund is shocking.
Dortmund have been poor actually whenever they're always playing away.

Maybe it will be the most boring match tonight. Because the two teams here are strong and no one is interested in losing points. So both teams can play defensively. We have seen that in the Champions League before. We hope the matches of the strong teams will be very competitive, but these matches are not enjoyable. Still, I would expect aggressive gameplay from Liverpool today. Their team is in a very good position now.

Guess it was not the most boring match indeed. From the report alone it said it was an epic encounter. From the red cards the penalties and the VAR issues and everything,,, wow, I have to watch this game again.

hard to believe but the happy goal scoring continued in the remaining games and in the 8 games 35 goals were scored (most in brugge, 1-5 against man city and the fewest in porto, 1-0 against ac milan)

the performance of dortmund disappointed me a lot - didn't think the club would be so outclassed in amsterdam

Exactly, it is shocking. At 1:0, I was expecting  Borussia Dortmund to equalize or something. Later on I saw 3:0 on my phone page. I had to watch the game and know what the issue was. Borussia Dortmund play their game and are used to relying on striker Erling Haaland's talent. And their often-unreliable defence couldn't cope with Ajax's smart movement off the ball. Ajax pressed well in midfield to cut the service to Haaland. At a second I was like Ajax  was never the underdog if you know their history. There are a few  top clubs that copied the ajax system around the world.  So i was not surprised the way they played that way. Ajax manager is a very tactical man. He knows the team and how to dismantle the midfield from the attack.

Salah also Mane which in the last few matches always makes goals and in the EPL Liverpool are the most productive team with 22 goals while the other teams still under 20 goals, maybe this time Atletico's good statistics over LFC don't work well, I prefer over 2.5 and BTTS, although Atletico has good records against LFC, currently LFC more favorites to win by bookies.

The biggest surprise yesterday was Ajax's hammering of Borussia - with Haller having another good game. I laughed at Ajax when they spent huge money on him but he's really proven to be a great buy for them so far.

I was also surprised how easy it looked for Ajax to defeat Dortmund yesterday, as i thought before the match that both teams are pretty much on the same performance level. It became pretty obvious very quickly though that Ajax is playing at least 1 tier higher than Dortmund. At least that was the case yesterday. Also Dortmund was pretty successful so far both in the Bundesliga and the Champions League in terms of the points gathered but if you look more closely then it becomes obvious that they were pretty lucky in their first two matches of this cl season.

I think almost all of last night's matches were almost as predicted, but still I really regret it to bet over 1.5 goals in the Porto - Milan match because it ruined my parlay bet. Porto as a home team clearly dominated the match, I just didn't expect Milan to be really like a mediocre team here unlike in the previous two matches when against Liverpool and Atletico who seemed to have high spirits. In this match even Milan seemed to have lost their identity and with this defeat too, it seems that Milan no longer has any hope of being able to advance to the knockout phase, which is a pity.

Manchester United will face Atalanta. Even though Man United is playing at home, there is no guarantee that they will be able to beat Atalanta because Man United is in bad shape. Since losing to Young Boys, Man United's performances have been erratic and obviously, this is a problem.

Actually Man United has good players, it's just that they haven't been able to play solidly and their defense looks so fragile. If there is no improvement in performance, then Man United will have a hard time beating Atalanta.

Ajax is this year in a phenomenal form, in the league itself they have only 2 goals conceded, yes it is the Dutch league but also in the Champions League only one goal conceded. All 3 games won in the Champions League and Dortmund dispatched, impressive. Real Madrid and Manchester City have also won their games sovereign, PSG thanks to Messi. Except for Ajax, there were no surprises for me on yesterday's match day.

... I hope you won your bet Mate. I was expecting the usual blank play and overall defensive play throughout a match. You know how Atlético can decide to play sometimes, always play dirty. Aggressive when tackling, yet screaming, rolling, crying like drama queens at the lightest touch. If they had used more of their energy and intellect to play football rather than trying to hound and con referees, they'd have easily won that  match. Their mind games for once didn't work. Their dirty tactics didn't earn them a single point. Even with 10men they still had brilliance that could have drawn the game. Red card justified.

I wonder if anyone knows what the odds were for over 4.5 goals. Sportsbet had a special for something like over 1.5 goals each and over 19.5 booking points each, and over 1.5 corners each, which for sure never in my mind I would ever take but who on earth could see this result coming right guys?

I think this is the first time that AC Milan has lost the first three matches in the group stage of the Champions League. Maybe maybe they have not adapted to the uefa Champions league football yet after they have been off for many years now. It’s a bit surprising that they are unbeaten in the Serie A and AC Milan can't find a way to win in the Champions League, or even grab a point after three games. Maybe they’re wanted yo turn things around against Porto but they were without many of the first team players like the goalkeeper, Mike Maignan, suspended Kessie, Ante Rebic and Theo Hernandez, who tested positive for Covid. It’s just not right that a club that was dominant in the competition is now struggling to get a point in three games.

A great Liverpool performance yesterday - although Griezmann's red card helped them to take the game under control. Atletico showed once again that you cannot relax against them, they will use whatever opportunities you give them. Still, scoring 3 goals against them is really hard to do - Liverpool attack is really on fire recently.

Atletico Madrid has struggled quite optimally in that match, even though they were 2-0 down but they were able to rise to level the score, but unfortunately the red card received by Griezman, made Liverpool even more daring to press the Atletico Madrid defense, even though they played with 10 people Liverpool were very difficult to beat Athletico in that match, but Liverpool were lucky enough to get a penalty, which made them more confident because they were in win condition.

Almost all the matches went as I expected, especially producing high goal margins.
Club Brugge vs Manchester City was actually not a single surprise to me.
I knew Liverpool will win, but I expected a lesser goal margin but it turned the other way round.
PSG score was cool.
Sheriff I expected to replicate their wonders, or will this be the end of their shine?
Ajax vs Dortmund shocked me to my marrows. I least expected that result. Who will believe that Dortmund will go 90mins without a single goal against Ajax?

Who shocked me today is Borussia, Ajax is a strong team, but losing 4-0 to it is surprising, to put it mildly. I have not watched the game, but I see that according to statistics, Ajax deserved this victory (possibly with a smaller score)

Ajax being at home, I was not surprised by the Borussia Dortmund loss.

I didn't follow that game and just saw the score after the end and I assure you that I double checked it before realising that Dortmund is the one that got knocked by 4 goals and not Ajax! And honestly I don't think that I am the only one doing it
So far this is the most surprising result tonight. Even Milan defeat vs Porto wasn't surprising regarding the poor performance of Milan in CL. Otherwise big scores +4 goals in almost all games except Milan's one.

Few of the fans could have guessed that after 3 matches, Ajax would have 9 points with a goal difference of 11-1. It seems that it has already secured an exit to the next round from the first place. As for Borussia, despite such a local catastrophe, its position is quite good in order to take second place in the group. It is unlikely that Sporting will be able to prevent this.

Well it's a shame, Messi should be ambitious to make a hat-trick because even if it fails, the final result will still be the same for PSG's victory.
