Australia after losing the first two matches in this world cup returned back strongly and won the remaining of their matches. On the other hand, the Afghanistan defeat hurt them badly and their chances of moving ahead in this tournaments becomes even more dull.

What an excellent match. I really appreciate Glenn Maxwell who just pull his team to the victory line and cross the line and won the match. What a massive score he made 201 runs. I was thinking that Australia just lost the match because they lost 7 wickets under 100 runs. All the credit goes to Glenn Maxwell. I really enjoyed this match. Congratulations to Australia.

I think today's match was the best match in the history of cricket in which Maxwell played a brilliant innings to take his team to the semi finals. I think Maxwell has not won the match but has taken away the match from Afghanistan. I have rarely seen such matches in my life, but today's match was the best match of my life, in which one player turned the dice of the whole match. I don't think anyone would have believed that Australia had won the match even though at one point Australia's chances were slim after 7 wickets fell for 91 runs.

Maxwell remained at the crease despite a leg injury, He had trouble playing short but he still stood up. Playing an innings of 201 runs off 128 balls is an extraordinary performance. For cricket fans, today's match was in my opinion the best match of all World Cup matches, and this innings will be the memorable innings of Maxwell's life, but this innings will be written in golden words in the history of Australian cricket.

Phenomenal performance from team Australia they played thier wao cricket and to be honest they were on fire, we have rarely seen such kind of performance from player at such pressure situation where they lose thier important player already and everyone expect that now nothing can help them out of such trouble situation and out of no where Maxwell come Maxwell hits and Maxwell win . The second match of the Bangladesh Women vs Pakistan Women ODI series has started. Bangladesh Women have won the T20I series, but have performed very poorly in the ODI series, losing the first match as well. Bangladesh women's team could not play relatively well at home.

Paksitani women team performance is really bad from recent time they lost most of thier bilateral series and recent bad performance in Asian cup really push thier Moral and confidence down which has really bad impact on thier performance. But now in series against Bangladesh they played sensibly and shown some good results at first match but now during second match they played well by chased required target but due to lack of significant partnership they lose a grip on match and that why they just level the required target on last ball while during super over they unable to match the required target that's why they lose second match and tie the series by 1-1 now last and Third match will be deciding I am sure paksitan will took his Asian game revenge from them.

Exactly that was an excellent win. Maxwell is Maxwell. When Australia lost 7 wickets. I left and was sure that Australia will lose this match. But when I came back. And saw the stats of the match Australia just surprised me and when I saw the Maxwell score I was smiling how he is managing with injured leg. He didn't leave pitch due to his leg. He just played and made 201 runs and just because of him Australia won the match.

Australian 5 players got out very early in this match but when the Glenn Maxwell came to the crease, there was raining of sixes all over the ground and every bowlers he smashes down the ground. He hits out 10 sixes, what a batsman he is , never seen such of his batting as he was really smashing today. Although the first batting by Afghanistan was quite good, they also give them a better target according to their team, but when the Afghanistan got first 5 wickets they though that they win the game. But this is cricket any thing and anywhere can happen.

Finally good luck to the better team Australia as they work hard and win the match by 3 wickets with having some balls remaining as well. See them in the coming matches with more speed batters.

Credit should go to Cummins as well, he held his wicket so well, without him despite Maxwell being there nothing could have been done. It was wonderous to watch Maxwell last night, how his shots either find the gap and go for four or for a six.

I am not sure whether it is lack of experience or overconfidence. From what I have seen, this is not the first instance where Afghanistan lost a match, that was firmly in their grasp. Australia was down to 91/7, with Maxwell and Cummins at the crease. Maxwell wasn't able to walk so he was restricted to hitting boundaries. The required run rate was well over 6 per over. At this moment, how hard it is to defend a total of 291? All the effort put in by the Afghan batsmen (especially Ibrahim Zadran and Rashid Khan) was wasted by the pathetic performance form their bowlers.

@TakeItEasy when I had started watching the match they needed 121 runs and then I saw that Maxwell was on the crease and I said to myself if this guy sticks around for a while Australia would win and then he turned the heat on and won them the game. Lastly I’m not surprised to see Australia win because of their experience and winning mentality both which Afghanistan player’s will develop over a period of time.

Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad had completed their quota. Mohammad Nabi and Azmatullah Omarzai were expensive (and still Omarzai would have bowled at least one more over). So at this point, I don't really want to blame the Afghan captain. It was a good opportunity for them to enter the semi-finals, but they made a mess of it. Still there is a chance, in case they can win against South Africa.

The way Cummins defended the balls, he undoubtedly acted like a worthy captain. Seven wickets already gone at that point if Cummins didn't play a defensive style he was likely to be out and if he was out Maxwell would have no one to support him on the other side no matter how well he batted. The innings played by Cummins is called leading from the front. Maxwell's innings history page will also feature his magic moments from every World Cup tournament to come. He not only did well but played for his country at the highest risk of injury to himself. Those who don't find confidence in themselves must follow this innings of Maxwell and hope they regain their lost confidence.

And there were a number of dropped catches off Maxwell and Cummins during their 8th wicket partnership. Perhaps this resulted from complacency from the part of the Afghan fielders. They thought that the match is firmly in their control and there is no need to put that extra mile. But Maxwell is a typical Australian cricketer. He knows how to get a win for his team. Australia has now won 6 consecutive matches in this world cup.

Glenn Maxwell was injured and he could not run properly so he opted to hit boundaries. This thing went in favor of Australia and they won. Had he been fit, he would have played a bit for carefully and perhaps, Australia would not be able to win. But in this situation, Glenn Maxwell knew that the only option for him was to hit the boundaries.

When anyone is so clear in his mind, then he will hit the ball hard and luck favours the brave. Another thing was the bad fielding by the Afghanistan team, missed chances due to which they were not able to win this match, which they should have won. After this win, Australia will be going to the semi finals with huge confidence and this may be advantageous for them as compared to their most likely opponent South Africa who had a bad defeat against India recently.

Even now Afghanistan has a remote chance of qualifying for the semi-finals, but it is much more difficult given their poor net run rate when compared to New Zealand and Pakistan. Also, their next match is going to be against one of the strongest teams (South Africa). On the other hand, both New Zealand and Pakistan have relatively weaker opponents (Sri Lanka and England respectively). So it is mainly going to be between NZ and Pakistan, on who will qualify as the 4th team.
