What an amazing match... in the end Pakistan managed to win with 0 balls remaining.

Pakistan always like to surprise the cricket fans, i was watching the last overs and i was thinking about betting on South Africa to win the match as you never know when Pakistan would collapse after some strong performance and once the last over started i thought they are going to mess this one as they lost a wicket and then the player who was batting was leaving the ball  .

I thought for a moment that the match was fixed and hence they are playing according to their plans leaving the ball when the match situation is really tight rather than rotating the strike and win the game rather they extended the game to the last ball which was insane .

Pakistan do have a habit of losing close matches, and that too from a winning position. However this time they managed to win, thanks to the composure shown by Faheem Ashraf in the final over and the incompetence of the South African captain and the bowler. Pakistan were 186/1 at one stage, before collapsing to 203/5. Their middle order was just clueless against the raw pace of Anrich Nortje. But Nortje didn't got any support from the other bowlers.

I think both the teams are too much weak and needs a lot of grooming. After seeing the first match, we cannot say which team performed well than the other. We can only compare which team made less mistakes. I think both the teams lacks the mental strength which is very important if you want to win matches.

South Africa has a reputation of chocking in tight situations but that was in high profile ICC tournaments and it started when they returned to International tournaments in 1992 World Cup and they did not choke that time but they were extremely unlucky because of a shady calculation for rain interruption during that tournament and that unlucky demon followed in the rest of the world cups and major tournaments as well.

I do not remember Pakistan winning close matches outside the sub continent but one thing i can say is that i did not expect Pakistan winning the match against South Africa in their own turf and i am curious to see whether Pakistan can follow up with that victory and win again and i am not denying Babar Azam as he is an exceptional talent and the ease in which he was finding the gaps was incredible.

10-15 years ago, maybe your assumption would have been right. Right now South Africa is a shadow of its former self. On top of that, there are a lot of internal issues within the team, related to the selection policy and others. So actually I was expecting an advantage with Pakistan in this series and the first match proved me right. But I never expected the sudden collapse from the Pakistanis (186/1 to 203/5).

Arey when did this Temba Bavuma guy become South Africa captain? Is he captaining for this particular tour or its a real deal for the proteas. He only played 8 ODI and got the chance of leading the team, great.. Just great!

I don't think Alone baber Azam can save Pakistan today. The way south africa are playing, it look like they will easily score 300+ runs today. This would create a lot of pressure in pakistani camp and their batting is not capable to handling the batting pressure. I think pakistan should have batted first in the match.

Yup  Temba Bavuma is the young South african captain . In recent times, he is the first black African cricketer to be the captain for South Africa.
Previously they had an era where they had Hansie Cronje, Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla and other white people as their captain. Will this be the beginning of a new era for south africa ?

Yup  Temba Bavuma is the young South african captain . In recent times, he is the first black African cricketer to be the captain for South Africa.

I would have been much happier if he was made captain based on merit. There are South African players of color who gets selected solely on the basis of merit. I am talking about layers such as Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj. But unfortunately Temba Bavuma is someone who doesn't deserve a slot in the playing XI. If someone check his ODI and Test batting average, then it is clear. How can someone who averages 32 with the bat in tests become a regular part of the playing XI?

BTW... Bavuma made 92 today. Still my opinion remains unchanged.

What they could do after draining out of talents thanks to kolpak deals? They are really struggling to build a team like how they enjoyed during the times of 90's and early 2000's. But, this time they turned to a black captain which must be an appreciating move from CSA.

Game seems pretty much over for Pakistan. Don't think this middle order can do some wonder here for the team.

But Fakhar Zaman is still batting from the opening which might the last hope for Pakistan. I am not seeing big depth in lower orders in Pakistan's line up hence getting 11.3 runs per over from the remaining 11 overs may not be possible today. After letting South Africa to score 341 runs, I guess Pakistan players might have got morally demotivated for chasing this much big total which simply reflected on their middle orders.

Pakistan is back with another performance that is not surprising and i was expecting this as i do not remember Pakistan playing back to back matches where they dominated and that is what happened here. I missed watching the entire match but South Africa made sure Pakistan will not have an easy target to chase and i wanted to see Babar Azam to take on the challenge but that did not happen.
