The stage is set for the PBA All-Filipino Cup Playoffs. As expected, SMC and MVP teams are again in the playoffs and the 2 independent teams who managed to get in the playoffs are Converge who got their first playoff appearance in their debut season and Blackwater Bossing who are having a better season after having a 29 game losing streak. Which are your bets in the Quarterfinals Round? What are your predictions? These are mine . SMB Vs. Blackwater - These 2 teams played well when they faced with SMB won by only 2 points. I think that SMB will get this one and will eliminate Blackwater in only 1 game. Ginebra Vs. Meralco - PBA Finals? A best of 3 series and when they faced, the Bolts won by 17 points. Even though the Bolts won on that match, I think the Ginebra will win on this one in 3 games. Magnolia Vs. NLEX - I will pick Magnolia with this one in 2 games. I don't think that the NLEX can beat them. TNT Vs. Converge - A big congratulations for Converge for getting into playoffs in their debut season but TNT will win this one in only 1 game I believe.

Not fair if Wright will go to Gin kings, the current squad is already composed of talented individuals. Though the possibilities are not by far as Gin kings can offer him a decent amount of contract plus the chance of playing with his favorite team, I can say that if ever that the trade will materialize it will add additional firepower, especially from the outside territory
It's not that Wright will be added to the Ginebra lineup that easily. There's a salary cap on each team and knowing the players in Ginebra, almost the entire key players have a decent contract with the team. Wright's value is not a joke as he is the ace player of Phoenix FuelMasters. I'm sure FuelMaster will try to keep him. But he is also getting offers from overseas. His contract will expire next month. He is currently enjoying his vacation. Let's wait next month.

Outside league also has an enticing offer with a caliber Wright have, we know he's more valuable than those who already signed their contracts and already playing outside the country.

I would agree with that, he has the height and the athleticism but the fact that he played in the PBA, I think he just wants to settle in the PBA but to the best team which definitely not the Phoenix Fuel Masters. I think Ginebra had enough superstars already, but if Wright will choose that team, then there's nothing we can do as definitely Ginebra can afford to pay him.

As far as my wild analysis is concerned, Matthew Wright's talent will not use much on Ginebra. They are already a complete team. Tim Cone is the type of coach that doesn't make things mixed up. If he thinks that the current players on the floor are already good, he won't hesitate to bench a player even if that's a good player to start with. Wright will also have limited minutes of playing time on Ginebra and I'm sure he already knows it. I'm sure Wright won't sign to Ginebra but maybe on their sister teams like Magnolia. And maybe he is just waiting for the right moment that he will now sign to play overseas as imports are having good playing time there plus a wonderful big contract.

Teamwork is a must in the world of basketball and Magnolia have that and they used that as a weapon to claim the victory. We all know that Paul lee is very dangerous in terms of shooting outside and in paint area so the team find him. But Magnolia use that as a advantage they work as one every player contributed well scored well and in terms of defense they got gallon as a defender on the outside.
They had already formed a bond that would make them a very defensive team. look at the total score in their game today, they only limited the Blackwater to 66 points in the whole quarter, so you can really tell how effective their defense is, and they are not easily getting tired due to everyone being given minutes to play. Magnolia has a very good line up now if their players don't have latest injury then it's good for them. That's the advantage of a team if many players will be given time to play and their star players did not feel tired because their backups or let's say support will give their best also and have a good points and a good defense unlike another team that only their star players can make some points and that's the reason why they have a small percent of winning every game. That's why I'm backing them to win in this conference, though all Filipino cup are usually dominated by SMB and Fajardo is obviously back, but I like the teamwork of Magnolia. Abueva was added and some role players, so they are getting better and better.

Playoffs are different, so let's see what they can give during the playoffs. I also trust Magnolia but SMB and Ginebra are more experienced teams, they have the size and they can dominate the paint. Though Magnolia had Laput who is a 6-foot-10 guy he is not proven yet in tougher games.

I also hoped that SMB's dominance in All-Filipino Cup will be stopped at the Finals at this conference. But hard to think that way since JuneMar Fajardo is playing again like he was in his prime. In an instant just after the long recovery of his injury, he is putting close to an average of 20PPG and 10RBG which is a threat to any team in the All-Filipino lineup. I don't see any players that can stop Fajardo at 1-on-1 that's why teams need to form a plan on how to beat these SMB guys without focusing too much on limiting Fajardo's offense and defense. There are other SMB calibers that need to focus on

Since SMC and MVP take the top 4th spot, it's fortunate for them that their teams will not meet early in the quarterfinals. I hope for the other way around to make these teams perform the Sagip Kapamilya moment lol. I trust those below-tier teams will do their best to upset these teams owned by the giants. I feel a waste of series that Ginebra and Meralco will face each other early. Unusual to see other teams aside from SMC and MVP competing in the Finals. Who knows this conference, we can see a change although, for me, the chance is just below my expectations. Again, who knows.

But I magnolia can beat them by a good teamwork they have singalong any faffy in center and lee, baroca, jalalon and abueva in the outer and the rest of team they can score.

They don't have Santos and Cabagnot anymore, these two are veterans, they are very composed during the playoffs and in the championship game, so we are not sure who will step up aside from JMF. CJ will have a big responsibility, of course, Jericho Cruz as well but the championship is just a different atmosphere.

SMB and MVP both are the known common teams that will possibly meet again in the finals. Still have many games to enjoy betting with your favorite might bring a decent amount of profit!

The key is to not just stop Fajardo but rather teams have to do their best to fully utilized their offense. Although PBA teams can't be compared to NBA teams, I just like to give a good example related to this. Golden State Warriors is a great example of a team that had poor defense before. Since they are always being dominated inside whether it's offense or defense, they think of a way how to solve that problem without thinking about how to defend purely those giants. What did they do? They utilized their outside shooting so that no need to force themselves to get points on the paint. They changed the NBA with those continuous rainbow shots. However, there are no PBA teams or players who are closed on doing that currently (I miss Ren-Ren Ritualo's 9 or 10 3-points streak before) that's why they need to find a solution on how to deal with SMB once they faced this team.

That's the big difference between the NBA and the PBA, and it's actually not just the Warriors system it's because of Curry's greatness. Take curry out from that team and for sure they'll not be the same Warriors even though the system is still there.

That's the big difference between the NBA and the PBA, and it's actually not just the Warriors system it's because of Curry's greatness. Take curry out from that team and for sure they'll not be the same Warriors even though the system is still there. Yeah, because without Stephen Curry, the Warriors would not reach to the playoffs, and also, Curry alone cannot make this team a championship team, remember when they missed Thompson due to injury? They missed the playoffs that time. By the way, Magnolia with another big win, beat the NLEX 98-89.

Is anyone here thinking of betting on Ginebra now?
They are down double digit and the odds are very attractive, what do you think? I believe Ginebra is a strong team, they can come back even with a huge deficit and they are good in the 2nd half.

They're good and lucky that most teams last season weren't that great. But this year, many are great teams and I remember a lot of seasons with Curry and star players still Warriors didn't end well for those past seasons. But they've proven a lot already and although this comparison is totally off and far away from both teams and leagues, we understand that it can be just an inspiration and there's a lot actually to improve for them.

Have bet for Ginebra before the game started and as I have said in my post on our local board that this is a very risky bet as Meralco is a strong team and this is a conference where they don't have a Justine Brownlee that could score for them if they badly needed one, no go-to-guy. A lot of time remaining and hope they will recover and win the first game of the series.
