the reputable Spanish newspaper Marca talks about the great debt that Barcelona has and the serious possibility that the whole club will go bankrupt.
Barcelona's short-term debt stands at 730 million euros and in a situation where there is no more revenue from spectators and Messi is likely to leave the club for free, this is a very serious problem for the club.
Reportedly, Barcelona did not even pay the players their salaries in January, which only shows how serious the situation is.
What do you think?

It shows how much the previous president of the club and his staff obviously have 0 eyesight. They are continuing to pay Messi a big salary for months while they were able to let him go for a good amount in this difficult situation where there is no spectators revenue and no trophy. All that drama happening in Barca makes me feel sad, hope they will recover soon.

Are you sure? The Colchoneros are two games behind (yes, two games, meaning 6 prospective points) and already lead the standings by 7 points! Either they get hit bad by an atomic bomb or I do not really see them losing ground anytime soon. They may lose a game or two, that is normal, but you are a but deluded if you think a team like this year's Atlético will lose their chance to win the title.

Sure of what? That Real and Barca are still in the race? YES (mathematically). That all three of them will lose games in the second half of the season? YES.

Two games behind? To the rest of the teams, YES. To Real and Barca, NO (they are one game behind).

Slow down man, we are only exchanging opinions here. AFAIK this year's Atlético Madrid is the best I have ever seen in ages and the story so far tells everyone that they are leading La Liga, deservedly. And that is my take on it. You have a different view but I firmly believe those guys will not lose their chance of winning the title. That's it. Real Madrid are going to play a home game against Levante this weekend. Real Madrid are the 2nd with 40 points and Levante are the 12th with 23 points. Real Madrid didn't get any loss (3W 2D) and Levante lost only once (2W 2D 1L) in the last 5 games in the league. Levante are a really terrible team in away games (1W in 10 games). I think Real Madrid will beat them easily and continue following A. Madrid.

I think Real Madrid will get three points more easy when faced with Levante, Real Madrid should win and always get three points because third position Barcelona left only three points, if failed to get points Barcelona will replace for Madrid on second position, but still safety for Atletico Madrid because have left one match.

They should have won easily. Unless Levante is lucky tomorrow and beats Madrid. It looks like it's tough, Madrid are in good mental shape after winning against Alaves 4-1. Eden Hazard performed well at that time he also scored 1 goal. I think Hazard will have to play again tomorrow, he needs flying hours to get back to top form. In addition, Madrid must win to catch Atletico Madrid's points. But Madrid still have to be careful they lost 1-0 last season.

Hey guys, I am sorry to tell you that but Levante has nothing to do against Real Madrid. RM needs a victory and there is no other option. We also have no important injures into the team and Hazard is improving his gameplay with Benzema, look at the last match versus Getafe, It was an hurricane the whole Team. So if Levante wants a victory, he has to wait to the next match.

The next games in the league are approaching. There are matches like Cadiz-A. Madrid, Real Madrid-Levante, Barcelona-A. Bilbao and Eibar-Sevilla. I'd like to share my opinions about these games:

Cadiz-A. Madrid : Cadiz are located at the middle position in the league. A. Madrid have been marvelous so far. I think A. Madrid will beat them and won't break their winning streak.

Real Madrid-Levante : I don't think that Levante have a chance against R. Madrid in this match. It will be easy for R. Madrid to beat them.

Barcelona-A. Bilbao : These teams played against each other two times recently. Both side got a win with the same score 3-2. I think Barcelona will be the winner this time.

Eibar-Sevilla: Sevilla are one of the teams that are having a great season. They are at the 4th place and have 36 points. They follow Barcelona from 1 point behind. They have a nice form and I think they will beat Eibar.

Exactly, Madrid won everything from Levante, won over levante also very important for them since Atletico keeping up with their performance, losing event 2 points from Real Madrid will make them more far away to race for the champions. Next Atletico will meet againts Cadiz, easy points for them i think.

They won't do it, both are important. There is no guarantee they will get the best if they focus on one tournament. As a professional club, they should do everything to get the best result in every tournament. Regarding squad problems, all the football clubs in the world are experiencing this today. So, you cannot judge like only Real Madrid that is in a bad situation.

Playing against teams of a lower division is always hard. The other team have the chance to prove themself and Barcelona isn't that motivated like players against better teams.

Again Frenkie de Jong was important for Barcelona. He became a better players since he left Ajax. He is now scored much often.

They may not refuse, but what difference does that make? They will not have enough strength to compete in two tournaments with dignity, and in the end they will not win anything, especially since the opponents also want to win the tournament.

I agree with you but you and me know that barça is really out of their best performance, Messi is walking during most of the match and he looks really demotivated. It is a pity that they needed some of the main players to score 2 goals, they were playing with a minor team (with due respect). In my opinion Barça will not win any championship this year becasue Messi is really out and he is not concentrate at all. So, Real Madrid or Atletico de Madrid will win 'La Liga' and who knows about the Champions League.

Vallecano put up a really good fight against Barcelona in this match. So, I appreciate their performance despite playing against a big team like Barcelona. After they got ahead 1-0, I thought that the match would go to an interesting point. But Barcelona managed to turn the game around and won 2-1. I usually become afraid of the second league teams in games like these. Because they have nothing to lose so they try their best.

Maybe it has to do indirectly with the competition, but I thought Barcelona played well for the copa del rey at times. I also notice that Frenkie the young scores more and more and gets free play. In that respect, Koeman is a good trainer. Now for the results. If Barcelona could keep on winning, they might have chances in the competition but they can not efford any mistake at all.

Bilbao won 2 times (2W 1D 2L) in their last 5 games in the league. In the last 5 head-to-head games, Barcelona won 2 times and A. Bilbao won the rest of them. In addition, Barcelona lost only once in home games (5W 3D 1L) and A. Bilbao won only once in away games (1W 3D 5L) so far. I think we will see a tough game surely. But I think Barcelona will beat their opponent here.

Barcelona has been great everywhere this year for the past few weeks, sure they didn't start amazingly at the start of the year but they have been great for the rest of it. If you do not consider the big loss they had against Bilbao at the super cup, they haven't lost since fifth of December. Juventus and Bilbao are the only teams they lost to in that span of time and all the other league games and cup games they have either won (mostly) and with few ties along the way.

So, basically they have found a fountain of youth once again and became the great Barcelona we all know about. Their only problem in the league right now is that Athletico Madrid has been doing very very well and that is why they are far away from the top, Athletico Madrid won 15 of their 18 games which is awesome, if it wasn't like that Barcelona would have been fighting for top spot right now.
