Crazy game, despite dominating the game, Real Madrid couldn't find another breakthrough, the penalty was a bit absurd I'd say but the foul from Carvajal was highly absurd and needless. Real Madrid deserved to win the game, imho, but it is what it is! And another advantage to the Los Rojiblancos!

I think Barca will win easily. But that is wrong. Messi effect, makes Barca appear dominant but cannot win. Indeed, the results do not always match predictions, sometimes the luck factor also affects. But if you look at Barca's  statistics, 74% is dominant. There is a difference in quality, but unfortunately Barca cannot take advantage of it. It looks like they are only able to make five shots and a draw. It looks like Koeman should start changing his dependence on Messi. Koeman must immediately end the bad transition period in the last two seasons if they still want to compete as La Liga champions.

Didn't watched Real - Elche game because I thought that Elche have no chances today, I expected big Real win. Results against underdogs like this can cost a lot for Real in title race, especially considering that Atletico don't waste points and today achievd important win over Getafe.
Celta are doing impressive things, not so long time ago they were in relegation zone and now they are close to Europa league spots. With new manager they won 4 of 5 recent league games and achieved 1 draw
There is games between Athletic - Real Sociedad and Osasuna - Alaves on Thursday. Can it better way to spend New Year's Eve than watching Basque Derby and game between La Liga underdogs?

Yeah, at least they should be on the fourth place. They are close to go there, but it doesn't mean they must finish on there. Sevilla and Villareal are strong competitiors this season, Barcelona cannot underestimate them. However, I believe in Barcelona squad, they have good players. If the coach can manage them well, the fourth place is very possible to achieve.

With Barcelona's current performance I agree position 4 is a realistic target for Barcelona to achieve, this is also with a note that Barcelona
must have started to play consistently. If they still play inconsistently, of course, Barcelona will fail to enter the top 4 of La Liga. Because I agree
with you that Sevilla and Villarreal are not teams that can be underestimated. So I hope Barcelona can increase fighting spirit when playing,

they should be happy with a fourth place especially after the catastrophic start this season, their main goal is qualifying for the champions league next year, they need to survive this season with less damage possible and hope that things will get better.

Didn't watched Real - Elche game because I thought that Elche have no chances today, I expected big Real win. Results against underdogs like this can cost a lot for Real in title race, especially considering that Atletico don't waste points and today achievd important win over Getafe.

In fact many didn't expect such result! Now Real Madrid is behind ATM with 2 points without mentioning that ATM lacks 2 additional games so the score difference can reach 8 points in case they have the same number of games played. It is also an opportunity for Barca to reduce the gap between it and Real Madrid to 5 points if they will win their lacking game.

The title race could be between Athletico Madrid and Real Madrid, excluding Barcelona based on their recent outings, and I expect both Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid to win their games today against Elche and Getafe respectively, it has been a season of upsets, but I don't think there'll be any upsets in both games today. Having said that, Real sociedad are up against Athletic Bilbao tomorrow, R.sociedad have been outstanding this season, but I think that game is going to end in a draw or Athletic Bilbao wins, that's my prediction.

It's wise not to expect a lot from Barcelona this season. Let them play and watch from a distance so you won't be disappointed hehe.

I think it's safe to bet on draw no bet for Athletic Bilbao. They are playing at home while Real Sociedad has been struggling lately.

Between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid I prefer Madrid dominance to get title La Liga again for this season because Zidane is the specialist for trophy and have give more for Real Madrid, without Barcelona only Atletico Madrid become competitor for Real Madrid right now but Zidane have continue good result for Madrid and should give three points tonight for Madrid when faced with Elche.

It's not what you "prefer" since this isn't a game of favoritism. It's what happened on the pitch that matters the most and even Zidane cannot control the results. I'm sure he doesn't like the 1-1 scoreline.

It is hard to move on from Barcelona this year because you look at them one day and they are great, you look at them another day and they suck. They started the season very very horribly and looked like they were recovering for a while, now when you look at them they are back to being bad again. This is an important issue and not just about the game last night, it is about all the games that will be coming.

Normally if you martingaled your way into Barcelona games, you will definitely end up profiting, because they won games more than they did anything else, I look at it now and they have 8 games (4 loss and 4 ties) lost points versus only 7 games they won. This means it is getting very risky to wager on Barcelona games, if I wagered this much on Athletico Madrid I would have risked a lot less money and made a lot more money in return but how could I possibly know that.

It's up to you if you want to stick with Barcelona. I bet you already know the issues off the pitch.

At first I was laughing at myself for changing my bets on Real Madrid and Liverpool to DNB even though the odds were very low to anyone's standards. I laughed even harder when I found out about the results as it turns out it was the right call. Gut feel works sometimes

The Spanish and English football leagues are the best in the world in terms of quality, they have a lot of strong clubs, the competition is hard and it is very difficult to win all the time.
Still, I personally think that the champion in Spain will be one of the 2 clubs from Madrid, and in England again Liverpool.
Barcelona is very unconvincing this season and so is Manchester City.
Their chance for a trophy is probably in the Champions League.

As I said yesterday, I'm already at a point where I want them to win. This makes Barca feel it's more urgent to change the way they are as a squad, and also I think Suarez should get a nice title to prove himself, and as "repayment" for the way we treated him. Diego Costa has left so they definitely now put more burden on his shoulders, but I think they deserve to win it anyway, regardless of how they actually started playing the season.

Games in hand kinda suck to me though;)
