After the first half ended in a 0 - 0 draw, I was bored so I didn't see the second half. To be honest, I was surprised a bit by the final result because it didn't show in the first half that the game would end like this and Barca could take the three points. That was a very vital win, a win that Barca wants badly and for sure will boost them and give them confidence. It's very early to say something about Xavi with only one game. However, his mentality and winning spirit are obvious that affect well the team.

Barcelona is starting to show its quality, gradually hopefully this will be a turning point where Xavi presence can provide something different for Barcelona which is in a period of improvement. Barcelona victory over the achievements that Xavi tried to rebuild was not in vain, he managed to show how to manage Barcelona well. Not a convincing performance from Barca, but the job done. Barcelona first away win in La Liga. I don't know this is impact after Xavi become manager, but fact is they are remain in seventh. Barcelona are not yet a compact side they always look vulnerable every time they lose the ball. Xavi still has a long way to go rebuilding this team. I would not be so sure about Atlético, despite the weak opponent, they can again play with one striker in their tough and boring football. I would not be surprised if it will be another win with a minimum score or even a draw.

Had a draw in the first half they finally won. Villareal seemed unlucky that night. After losing 0-2 to Man United they lost again to Barcelona. Barclona was able to not lose while with Xavi. I believe with optimal conditions Real Madrid can steal that position by taking advantage of the match against Sevilla in a few hours. So that adds more points that Real Madrid collects. At least it can make them further away from Real Sociedad who continuously want to take back the first position.
