There is a very capable squad for this. They shouldn't play very cautiously unless it is really necessary in some kind of an important match.

I wouldn't say Diego Simeone has run out of strategy, but indeed now his playing style can be read by the opposing team which might be one of the factors why they have been declining lately. On the one hand, changing coaches will not always be a solution for them, but on the other hand it seems that Atletico Madrid's game is slowly becoming monotonous which makes me doubt whether they will be able to do their best this season or not.
