>snip<

rig was never pushed past or even close to factory limitations..

SP20 is running harder and has hardly skipped a beat - SP20E has been a bit of a gimp since arrival.

possibly due to loose pins??

possibly due to crimped ribbons??

possibly due to 'pushing it too hard' ? - absolutely not!

possibly due to karmaic intervention? - doubtful

@SP-T - Thanks, i appreciate the offer of the parts - and am happy to give it a go.

the cables were not new but neither were they new in the SP20 - so im not going to point fingers.

Has anyone any experience of replacing headers? Im a bit of a virgin.. (...and considering non-solder conductive glue...)

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Swapping out the PCIe sockets? I've done that on a bunch of things. My best recommendation is, use a high-watt iron and take your time. You want a good solid solder contact between the pins and the hole plating, or you'll have more resistive heating problems again. It's kinda hard on heavy power traces because the board will tend to heatsink.

Any ideas what is up with this 243 degrees Celsius on Loop 0?  I just got 15 rigs less than 24 hours ago.

And a couple of minutes later:

Looks like a display glitch in the code, showing 243 instead of 43 as the board temp. Make sure you are on the latest firmware, mine are on 2.6.14

I was hoping that was the case.  I felt the rig with my hand and it feels cool to the touch like the other ones.

Thanks!

243C would be something to see, for sure. The lead-free solder in those things melts around 215-220C so your ASIcs would be sliding all over the place. More likely they'd have just burst into flames, but it's more fun to think about them skating across the PCB.

I'm running 4 each on IBM 2880W with breakout boards and under clocked

These 15 units today and a big exhaust fan for my new closet.  Everything is still in my old closet.

I was actually thinking the same thing.  I thought I was about to have a fire.  Went down stairs to feel the unit and it felt fine to the touch.

Awesome! Did you liquidate your S3s? I've sold off all my S3s and replaced all with SP20E & S5s. I'm no where near the hash power you have but still in the game for now. Looking forward to timk eating his words too Smiley

Yes, I hope to make him eat his words...  I still have big plans for Washington State!  I only hope I will qualify for bulk sales with SPT starting in Quarter 4.  I plan on getting $50,000 to $100,000 in equipment the 4th Quarter and at least $50,000 for Quarter 1 of 2016.  Then $75,000 for Quarter 2 of 2016.  I will keep bumping up my purchase every quarter till I have 2,000 TH/s minimum.  I would like to have as much as 10,000 TH/s in several buildings.  We'll see how it goes...

I still have my S3+'s and S3's.  I upgraded the firmware on all of my S3's and I have them under clocked to 193 MHz @ 0625 volts.  They all are averaging 380 GH/s each.  I wanted to upgrade the firmware on all of them to at least get them down to .60 watts per GH.  I also under clocked my S4's to 175 MHz and 0685 volts.  They are all averaging about 1650 GH/s each.

I must say, "I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THESE SP20's."  WOW!!!  The software, the ease of updating firmware, etc...  TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

Washington State home of low cost power and Starbucks.  Nice combo.  My power in NJ is 13 cents in the winter and 16 cents in the summer.

I use the heat in the winter to help heat the house. Turns my 13 cents into 10 cents, But for the most part I can't stay in this game much longer.

What is your power cost 4 cents?

What is your power cost 4 cents?

Wife and I want to move to Washington State (Douglas County) the 4th Quarter from Alabama.  Actually, I would be the one moving first and staying there by my lonesome for the entire 4th quarter.  I plan on living in the commercial building during that time to keep the costs down and enable me to spend more on rigs.  My wife is an accountant.  I want her to continue working till she gets her bonus the beginning of 2016.

Several things have to get taken care of before I can move out there. I have trained almost every telephone technician on the East Coast and most of the heart land.  Now it's time to move out west and train technicians out there while mining also.  I have a 22 year old nephew who is into bitcoin and he is computer savvy.  I've mentioned my moving out there to start mining big time if I can get the rigs.  He's interested.  So, I hope he comes along for the ride.  He's a great person and I trust him.  Only thing I dislike about him is he is an Auburn fan.  Roll Tide!!!

Douglas County PUD is 1.85 cents per kWH.

I got to get some sleep.  I've been up all night...   Shocked  7:01am CST (Chicago Time) right now.

Just as important as the electricity  rates  is the  access to technology.

With the  big boys  investing  millions into chips  at .3 to .1 efficiency  to mine for  themselves they  have no incentive  to  sell to retail  or other competitors.

Just as important as the electricity  rates  is the  access to technology.

With the  big boys  investing  millions into chips  at .3 to .1 efficiency  to mine for  themselves they  have no incentive  to  sell to retail  or other competitors.

actually they may believe what you just wrote.  but they will crash the price of btc if they don't keep small guys in the game.

why invest in holding btc if only 3 to 4  places control the supply?

unlike diamonds which have real use other then bling, drill bits come to mind

btc is purely  a cash substitute.  I can't see an investor wanting to hold 100,000 coins in the way an investor holds shares of APPLE (any company) if the mining is centralized to 3-5 companies.

I also still see miners in the home as space heaters.  I am not sure why

I think about them every time I come home to my toasty apartment heated by an A1 Dragon instead of a DeLonghi Dragon. The kicker for oil-cooled miners as space heaters is probably access to internet, and reduced returns. Sure almost everyone has wifi these days, but what's the overhead cost of adding a wifi-enabled computer and enough interfacing to actually configure it? Additionally, how much money is there in a gimmick heater that'll return bitcoins during the season but when you plug it in the next year the returns are about 10% what they were the winter before?

I do know some folks using immersion miners to heat industrial space by patching into existing in-floor heat piping, but I'm not sure how "off the shelf" feasible it is for average folks.
