Unfortunately, this is the same thing CoinTerra, KnC, BFL all said.  It has about the same meaning as 'the check is in the mail!'

And HashF*ck, Bitmine and Black Arrow...
Although Bitmine and Black Arrow (especially Black Arrow) have been transparent and apologetic about their problems and delays.

Black Arrow (especially Black Arrow) have been transparent and apologizing with their problems and delays.

"oh by the way, we also developed a scrypt miner with your pre-order funds", was a little less than transparent, was it not?
anyway, slightly off topic - i do believe that what you see is what you get with spondoolies-tech.

How can you archive 0.58 W/GHs with 40nm and 0.38 W/GHs with 28nm when KNC uses 1W/GHs with 28nm and "maybe" 0.6-0.7 W/GH with 20nm?
I don't understand this.
It's actually 0.35 W/GHs with RockerBox our 2nd gen (28nm). We need to update our web site.
Our 3rd gen ("PickAxe"), to be released in Q4 is also 28nm and has much better power / performance ratio than our 2nd gen.

We achieved it using multiple techniques and much better engineering. For obvious reason, I can't get into the specifics.

You can read in past posts, we've released Hammer (1st gen) datasheet and RockerBox (2nd gen) brief.

Sounds like i have to refund my Neptune  Tongue
Send us proof of purchase and get 10% discount coupon. Send to sales@spondoolies-tech.com and mention this post.

Hm?

If i send u the proof that i ordered i get a discount?
Or am i getting a discount if i proof the order and the refund?
With the refund i could buy at your shop Grin

It's becoming a bit of a repetitive subject. Here we go again:

- We don't promise "full refund" since failing to deliver will be a catastrophic event. You won't get your refund in that case also. Promising "full refund" will be a marketing lie. We want to avoid those.
- The 2nd gen ASIC is a relative simple die shrink of our 1st gen ASIC. Almost the same engine. Nevertheless, we've done verification and FPGA simulations of course.
- Everything is on track for tape out at the beginning of May.
- The entire project is on track. PCBs, mechanics, DC2DC test boards, Supply chain, etc
- Our VCs investors won't allow us to take pre-orders unless we're 100% sure we'll deliver on time
- There is simply no way to finance building the amount of miners we want to sell without taking pre-orders
- We have a payment terms that split the (non existing, really) risk: 40% in advance, 60% before shipping
- We won't take pre-orders for our 3rd gen ASIC since it's an higher risk effort
- Edit: take a look at our (partial) talent list: http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/pages/team. This is a simple project. We've done much more complex...

Just proof of order from other vendor. You're responsible to get your refund back, or not. We don't care.

I think my english is to bad i try it in another way.
You just need the proof of order. If i refund i get the discount nevertheless?
I know that refunding is my own responsibility.
The 10 Percent discount is on every product? Or only on sp 10?

The 10% discount is on every product we sell in the store. We want to distribute the hash-rate. Getting your money stuck in limbo at some other vendor pockets doesn't help distribute the hash-rate.
Just send proof of order to sales@spondoolies-tech.com and we'll create one time 10% discount for you. Applicable to any order.
Go spread the word and help spread the hash-rate.

Thanks for a quick response. There is still probability of not delivering on time because of some unpredictable external circumstances.
If such scenario happens and you cannot deliver on time or at all it means that we lose that 40% we invested and get no refund. It is a very risky for customer regardless if it is 40% or 100%. Especially if someone purchases larger quantities of devices.

There won't be a delay, unless force majeure. In such case, we'll find way to make our customers whole. However, we won't promise full refund which is a lie.
The entire mining business is risky. We firmly believe that we can get the delivery and spec out of the risk equation.
If you feel uncomfortable with the risk, please don't order.

So how is the production on the SP 30 going? I think I also read somewhere that you're working on a 3rd generation. When would we expect that to come out and how much t hashes?

"RockerBox" (our 2nd gen ASIC) - Tapeout beginning of May. The entire project is on track.
"PickAxe" (our 3rd gen ASIC) - Q4, too early to know exact month. The preferred deployment method won't be rack mounted boxes, but probably IT containers. Enough TH/s to make Boden menace obsolete.

The problem with making Boden obsolete is that you make everyone else's gear obsolete also. Kick in the nuts to us community miners that don't have the deep pockets of the elite.

There will be enough time to make very good ROI on the SP30.
Making Gen3 ready by Q4 doesn't mean immediate deployment of massive PH/s. Most of the deployment will be in 2015, the EH/s era.

Edit: And we'll support community efforts like shared DCs. We're already working towards such efforts.

When was this not ever going to happen? at the very least we have a company here who are committed to spreading the hashrate - I know whom I would prefer to bring up the level of bitcoin mining. Spondoolies are carried by a group of top people, each individually as concentrated on the good of the miner. Big rigs were inevitable, I'd much rather it be Spondoolies-Tech than KnC or other.

OK ... I've had this thread marked for a while, but only just had the time over the last few days to read a good many pages, also done a lot of research.

I'm quite struck by people's feedback about this kit, and the positive feeling that runs throughout the thread. The boxes look well made (not sure that the noise issue has been resolved, but couldn't quite find the answer to that) and Spondoolies look to be delivering the product.

To be honest, I have been waiting for Bitmain's batch 3 of their S2, but they seem to have a lot of ongoing issues with quality control. I'm running a load of Antminer S1s at present (All run solid as a rock, but power consumption is an issue).

So ... if I decide to invest in a SP10 box or two from Israel, I wonder what import (Customs/VAT) payment might be payable on delivery? Can anyone in the UK advise what they had to pay?

Many thanks.
