I'm tired of it. Go read previous replies. We'll deliver SP30 on spec and on time.

Back that up with a refund or compensation policy. It costs you nothing if you ship on spec and on time.

Talk is cheap.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. Server-assisted clients like blockchain.info rely on centralized servers to do their network verification for them. Although the server can't steal the client's bitcoins directly, it can easily execute double-spending-style attacks against the client.

Can you tell us how many SP30 units were sold up to today? At least KNC told us how many units they were selling on their website.

As long as the cheap talk is repeated what's the harm repeating the (accurate) warning as well?

If you want to turn this into a pure marketing/cheerleading thread where only one side is being heard, you can do that. Moderator powers, after all.

The 5k isn't so far from 6333$. Simple math.

With logic like this you can see why we have conflicting views on the subject of difficulty increases.

Psst what about the price of BTC?

If we are going to speculate on hashrate why not BTC price?

If you think the price is going to rise, buy BTC.  Further, in the US, you avoid double taxation.

Buying coins under USA tax rules is passive income ie investment like a stock.  Mining under us tax rules is active income ie  a small business  schedule c.

I do not want passive investment income I want small business schedule c income.

Right now buying gear to  achieve schedule c income  means buying antminer s-1's   no one does what they do. Sell working gear and get to you in under 1 week.

It kills me to see sp10's demo'ed and I can't buy one quickly. Very frustrated about this.  It kills me to see a company that could make serious money with the sp10 and

they choose to not do it.

Build them sell them ship them.   Figure the correct price point and do it. hint 3200 to 3800 is the right price point if it ships  NOW.

I understand they have a different business model then I do.

But if they offered a good deal on an sp10 I am in for the group buy.

I mine alt coins with https://simplemining.net...
I see BTC as the super highway and alt coins as taxis and trucks needed to move transactions.

Everyone that had a refund policy found a way to bend it. For example Bitmine.ch managed to find a way to push it 10 days later. HashFail was bragging so much about the BTC refunds and we all know how that ended up. Why not do things a bit different one time? Just think for a second, if they wanted to just gather a lot of money they could post some kind of honeypot refund policy, but it's not the case because they don't need it. Also customers should always take into consideration the risks before ordering. If they would offer a refund policy and in July BTC goes to 100$ then everyone will refund and if the money are spent on components they won't be able to refund everyone. Every company is saying that they don't guarantee customers ROI.

I resent the comparison. Anyway, we won't reveal actual numbers, but you can do the math from previous replies:

- Sold out July batch (small, since ASICs only arrive in the beginning of July)
- Our production capability for the first month (take time to ramp-up) will be 20-40 machines a day
- We won't sell more machines than we can produce

August is a long ways off, are we likely to see any sort of performance increases or optimizations beyond the expected 5.4th on the SP30?  Is that just a low ball estimate of power and it'll end up being faster, or is that a best case scenario?  With the orbital death-ray of KNC and BFL shipping before August arrives we're likely to see the difficulty rate jump up significantly before you ship.  We know BFL has more than 20,000 Monarchs to ship out and however much that purchased hosting contracts.  Also Black Arrow ships in two weeks, and Asicminer has boards in hands testing right now.  So the difficulty is about to explode.  Trying to view this from that angle and think about what 5.4th will really return by August.  Are you able to ship sooner than August if everything goes well?  Any sort of other perk to this process that makes investing the money to buy something so late worthwhile at this point?

The refund policy to which I refer is only if they don't deliver on spec and on schedule. People would not have the option of a refund just because bitcoin price goes down.

Everything you said about shady and unreliable vendors in the bitcoin mining space is likely true, but that doesn't change the fact that repeatedly making promises without putting anything of substance behind them is cheap talk, and is very different from making a binding and substantial commitment to the customer.

August is a long ways off, are we likely to see any sort of performance increases or optimizations beyond the expected 5.4th on the SP30?

No. They are quoting estimates straight from simulations that may or may not be correct. Remember, they are jumping node processes so it is a complete craps shoot.

Is that just a low ball estimate of power and it'll end up being faster, or is that a best case scenario?

They are quoting best case power estimates and guess what, if they don't come in on spec, the power supplies chosen won't be able to handle extra capacity so they'll have to completely redesign the PCB and the box will end up running slowing at the same wattage.

Are you able to ship sooner than August if everything goes well?

No. They are quoting August as a "flip a dime three times and it lands on it EDGE everytime" timeline. I've asked them to post their timeline and contingency plan in this thread and they have decided its not worth it to be "transparent".

Any sort of other perk to this process that makes investing the money to buy something so late worthwhile at this point?

No. You are taking on their risks for the $$$/BTC spent.

Spondoolies you have an unusual website ... a friend of mine just ordered a SP10 x2 bundle, and lost the web page after ordering ... so doesn't have a reference to the BTC address you require payment to.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't have a login page to get back into the system ... to get back into their account ... so maybe you just lost an order?

I'm also interested in your product, but why don't people create their own account (which can be checked for order process etc.) on your site ... am I missing something?

We'll improve our web site. We're using Shopify e-commerce platform and it has it's limitation.

It is not BS that the buyer is assuming all risks. No refunds, no escrow, no compensation for late shipment, no payment upon shipment, etc.

You say the risks are small, which they may well be, but you aren't willing to take them on, which speaks loudly.

Thanks for your quick reply ... however, does this mean that once a product is ordered, a purchaser has no way of tracking its status?
