well ...looks like us home miner types yelling on here about noise/elec use etc were listened to I'm shocked.......no asic company ever listened before (have to sit down...world is tilting) Searing p.s. bet the price point is $1500 usd at best imho......still tough to justify at these BTC prices and 15c kwh in my case ... and the difficulty being completely nuts...imho they should be priced at end of Oct time line at around $1000 usd....even then tough to make ROI but at least conceivable? maybe? kinda sorta? But hell I might even pay the extra $500 usd over the $1000 to mine with the beast .just to decentralize BTC (take that KNC my 1.7TH will put a dent in your profits by golly!) and WTF I have no life....so again nice whirly noises...pretty LCD's and winter is coming...there it is ..thats the ticket...it is a HEATER we need someone good at math to prove to me that at 15c/kwh I can bank money back on this beastie with costs/elec figured in...yea..ROI via HEAT (man am I grasping at straws or what) (delusion is a foul fiend that follows home miners everywhere don't ya know) ah....another hopeless ROI guest......my life is now again as normal as it ever gets........some people gamble some people get home miners it is all the same.....keeps us in line placid and in worker drone mode......(off to get a lottery ticket) Searing Kinda complicated to read but: http://www.mhi-inc.com/Converter/watt_calculator.htm1000 watts in 24hrs=81950 BTU. @ 12,000 btu per 1 ton of A/C=6.82 tons (seems kinda high IMO,something is off ) At that rate you could heat a 1500 sq ft home quite well....maybe not in snow country Or: http://rapidtables.com/convert/power/Watt_to_BTU.htm

Its my article and I pester them a bunch for info on stuff. They were good enough to allow me to break the story first and I appreciate it so much. I really do like the the SP20 as it does fill the gap in the miner realm right now. Adding in they are talking a few week ship time as opposed to months and months this is a great choice. Quoted in part: Spondoolies-Tech is releasing a new miner named the SP20-Jackson that will start shipping in October.
Specifications as of press time: Hash Rate: 1.7 th/s +/- 5%, Over Clockable to 1.8 th/s, 8 ASIC Chips Power Consumption: 1100 watts at the wall with a Gold rated, 90% efficiency PSU suggested Power connections: 4x PCIe Smaller Form Factor 1/3 size of the SP30, 60dB or less estimated
What I like a lot is 60dB or less! By comparison sp-10 is at 80 decibel Decibel Levels of Common Sounds: Decibels | Degree | Sound Source | 80 | Loud | Average City Traffic | 60 | Moderate | Conversational speech |

Most of the noise was coming from the PSU fans anyway. If they don't ship the PSU with the new design, that noise is yours!

Yeah, isn't it crazy. This year is very strange: ~70 fold difficulty increase since last November, but more than 50% BTC price decrease. I would have never guessed that this would be the case. I don't think that this dichotomy can continue much longer, but who knows.
this! a shakeout is in progress.

2 The SP30 comes with 2 cables for power, but not the ones that you plug into your socket. They are only an extension that goes between the power cord and the PSU. You still need to provide 2 PSU power cords.

It's about being datacenter ready .. so these TWO cables plug OK in a PDU. Commonly used for data servers, this power cable has a C14 and a C19 connector. The C19 connector is commonly found on servers while the C14 is found on power distribution units. Features: Length - 3 Feet Connector 1 - IEC C14 (inlet) Connector 2 - IEC C19 (outlet) 15 Amps 250 Volt rating SJT Jacket 14 AWG Certification: UL Listed, RoHS Compliant A pic with what's in the box : miner + installed front ears, uninstalled back ears (supporting type, in the plastic bags in the corners of the box) + 2 cables and .. 4 rubber feet (you can't see those in the picture)

Problem is I found out that that only sent one cable with each SP30 instead of two, which means I'm running half speed till I can get Amazon to deliver to the datacenter on Monday.

Care to share where are you hosting them? A DC should have all sort of cables around. I think they are required by their internal rules for safety reasons.

The fault of not providing the correct power cables is not with the colo, it with the supplier of the equipment. The C14 male and female is fairly common I would be surprised if they didn't have them, but the C19 usually comes on only really high end servers and things like massive switches and UPS's PSU's

Never blamed the DC for not having cables. I was just trying to find a backup plan/solution for the missing cable not provided by the manufacturer so how are this machines now?
