Hmm how are you getting such low wattage ?

your temps are higer than mine as well.

my voltage hovers around 236/239
watts are 1350/1340

my Max voltage is .76 and start is at .66/.66

It seems different ASIC require different amounts of power ?
Other than that hash rate hovers around 4510 similar to yours but with a big higher power consumption it seems.

The max watts were set up @ startup when the unit does test the power supplies. I did not do any manual overclocking. The values you see there are the hard limits in PSU output set by the software.
When it was higher (over 1300) at startup, the ASICS were overheating .. I have some logs with most of them at 105 deg C. now only one/two arbitrarily get there, and only temporary.
The first unit balanced itself .. after that I did the upgrade to 2.3.30. with no major changes in power and hashrate. The (-50Gh/s) change in hashrate came after deploying the latest firmware.

I don't care about losing 50Gh/s if the unit is more stable. This is my ASIC stats now

I was also playing with the stats .. trying to balance them out and include the beagle CPU LOAD there ..

Zvisha, did you have time to review my pull request on GitHub regarding the minepeon UI ? Some more files need minor updates, but I'm happy now that my lighttpd.error file is not growing any more.

No, I didn't. I have too much load at the moment with the sw of SP2X and SP3X.
We are now hiring some more developers - hopefully it will allow us to focus on WebUI more.

Regardless, the lost 50GH does not add up for me. Try increasing the PSU limit - the limit the unit learned is a bit low - maybe it can work at slightly higher settings with latest FW and you will get your 50GH back ).

Your site says $1/w but I'm assuming that's not right because that's about twice as expensive as 2 phase immersion cooling.

Where can I buy/rent 2 phase immersion cooling for 0.5$/W?

Not sure if you can rent them yet but you could probably buy a container from allied control.

Hopefully datatank gets going soon and sticks to their hosting plan at $60/kw.

I don't know how air cooled/single phase IC datacenters will compete especially considering the efficiency bonus you get from 2-phase. (65C chips vs 105C chips.)

Hi all.
myminer.io updated with miner IP periodically, so it is not 100% correct.
If you want to get your miner IP for sure - go to your router.

very strange, but seemingly common enough to be in the FAQs

after 3 power cycles myminer.io is working - NOTHING else is

Hopefully zvisha or someone from support will arrange with you to remote access to your device and sort it out, I could be wrong but I don't think you will get much help from most of the enthusiasts on the forum, not for want of trying but more for lack of technical insight.

cheers biffa,

i PMd zvi after he replied earlier....
just did the recovery again, to make sure i hadnt fumbled it the 1st time.
end result is the same, can access myminer.io but cannot 'go to miner' etc
its getting silly now, im exhausted
totally regret updating FW!

myminer.io is not on the miner.
Please answer the following:
- when doing recovery, do you get the leds going green-yellow-green-yellow...?  yes
- Are you sure you are trying to connect from the same subnet as where your miner is?
- Do you get the led blinking twice after doing recovery? no
I think your miner changed IP, but myminer.io for some reason does not reflect it.
Go to your router UI and try to see what is the miner IP (see all the IPs and try to connect to each).

e2a - successfully upgraded to .40 - 45xxGH

i found no .tar file in the .46 link u posted only 'spon.shar' & 'spon.shar.sign' files

i found no .tar file...

after unzipping i found a spon.shar file & a spon.shar.sign file only...

are you implying that the zip RAR file is not to be extracted?

I don't think that you need to extract those files. Just use directly the .tar file as a new FW upload, not the files inside!

i think you might be right, but i'll wait for 100% certainty, as im not sure if the .RAR file is just called the .TAR file for convenience or if it actually is a .TAR file....whilst 'unextracted'

2.3.40 is running ok for now.

im surprised this 'bricking' issue hasnt been ironed out but i see other issues have taken precedence.

any info as to why .43 is the last version available via the GUI while .46 is floating around elsewhere?

I am pretty confident that I am right, but wait for an official statement.

The .46 is floating around while you only see .43 because of this:
Hi all
The line of SP30 will be renamed to SP3x in the SW.
SW version 2.3.43 will be the last SW release downloaded by machines identified as SP30.
After that it will request from SW update server SW for SP3x, and will be updated with 2.3.44 which is SP3x.

So till you updated to 2.3.43 you will not see any new SW releases in your SW upgrade menu.

so i'll give .43 another go.

at least i have my sp3x brick recovery sd card now...

e2a - .43 achieved.

quieter for sure!!  2-3C warmer too!

You should do another FW upgrade now. Don't know if the last official version is .44 or .46, but you can definitely can do another FW upgrade.

Nothing is really priced anymore for the bitcoin starter, only the guy who already has hashing power and wants to add some more to what he has.

Huh ? Why would an experienced miner overpay when a newbie wouldn't ?

Cause experienced miners usually have a small hoard of bitcoin they made from mining and if they have paid for all their hardware already they'll essentially be purchasing gear for free.

I already cashed out the money I spent on bitcoin hardware. Everything I have left (minus small costs) is basically "free" money in my eyes. More or less an opinion really.

Newbie bitcoiner's most likely won't have bitcoins. I hope I explained that correctly.

how is profit "free"? profit = BTC = value

If i made +20% ROI on my previous generation of mining equipment, it doesnt mean that I am more than willing to overpay 20% on my next hardware purchase. thats just silly. I buy hardware only if my calculations indicate it stands a good chance of making a positive return (as a result I have not purchased any hardware in over a month now, despite a growing stash of BTC that I would like to be re-investing by now)

prices need to be <1BTC/TH/0.8kW without a PSU to be worthwhile purchase, +/- 10% based on the ease and stability of operation. (my SP10 and bitmain gear has almost zero downtime, unlike all the sh*t running on RPis that constantly wreck SD cards or have issues when there is a power blip)

Last thing we need in here is another math war. I'm a layman and do it simple.

If I pay $2000 for something and it cost me $2500 to operate it over one month and that something gives me back bitcoin worth over $2500 then I'm good. I don't take it out of control on an OCD level and since I never did, I have never "lost" money. If after I'm all done paying for my hardware and operating costs on what is left over, if you don't see that profit as free money then I'll just agree to disagree. Well in your case profit = BTC = value. To me, profit is the difference between the amount earned and the amount spent. That is a widely accepted definition of what profit is.

The SP20 at the current price will not break even. Even if you adjust the diff down to 10%, it will take you 320 days to make $27. And that's just with today's rate. Don't forget that $200-$300 shipping price tag also on top. $1400.

If the price was even $800 you'd only max profit around $430. Wow, almost one bitcoin!

People, get OUT of the pre-order gamble.

Nothing is really priced anymore for the bitcoin starter, only the guy who already has hashing power and wants to add some more to what he has.

The SP20 weighs less than the SP3X and we were able to negotiate better shipping prices. Shipping price the SP20 depends on the destination but is not $200 and certainly not $300.
I don't think this is the thread to discuss ROI but if you insist on doing that at least get the numbers right.

Gadi

I didn't see shipping costs in the monster thread you guys posted or a shipping calculator on your website. If you don't like incorrect numbers on the thread, then just post them. Could of posted average shipping costs in the large advertisement thread you guys just did. At least an average? Also, ROI is the central core and most talked about subject on any new hardware. That subject is what drives sales or not. If you don't want ROI related content in the thread related to this thread's company's product's which this thread is about then they must be bad. I thought that would be a selling point for a mining rig.

ok, giving it a spin. .46 done.  its gone back to sp30 yukon from sp3x yukon - watching the hashrate like a hawk.

@opentoe - sadly have to agree, its all about the 'spin' & the equally significant lack thereof of relevant data, that gives the game away.

It does take ~24 hours to get a stabilized hashrate from what I know.

ROI is subject to many factors. The calculators can't predict future value of BTC or what that would do to difficulty. Also what do you base your ROI on BTC or fiat? If BTC takes a dive to $10 then difficulty would go down as farms shut down due to overhead costs. You will make back your BTC but lose fiat. Same if BTC goes to $5000. You will get your fiat ROI but possibly not your BTC.  Making predictions based on current BTC value and percentage increases in difficulty is a fallacy.

I'll just say it will not return your investment and that's it. Who wants to talk about ROI and stuff like that in here? Hmmm, how is the weather these days?

ok, giving it a spin. .46 done.  its gone back to sp30 yukon from sp3x yukon - watching the hashrate like a hawk.

It does take ~24 hours to get a stabilized hashrate from what I know.

so its going to climb >100GH over the next 23 hours??

Not sure. Have you reset the PSUs or are they using the old limits? (For reset you can put both PSUs at 1330W and afterwards the miner will reboot several times so it can learn new settings)

Max Watts
    1350 / 1345

since recovery in the early hours they started at 1360w each but i didnt upgrade to .46 until they'd already settled at the above watts.

do you think its worth going back up to 1360w for reeducation? Edit - did it, might as well.

please let me know if you see the hash rate going down in the pool/self reported after the upgrade.

Kudos on excellent customer service Z. Getting any information from KNC is like pulling donkey teeth.
