Can too much cooling affect the cores on the Neptune miner?

It's winter here in Canada now, its about -20 outside. I have my basement window open in the room where my Neptune is running, a few of my cores have stopped working since it got colder.

Here is my miner status RIGHT now.

Here is what Advanced core info shows Right now.

I wonder if you could boost up the voltage, I mean hell they aren't overheating :-)

And how are you keeping from melting the plugs. 220w/cube is heavy load with Titans, you're pulling 300 (it's more than 300)

I bought special cables off here. They are thicker gauge wires.

Those are special cables all right.... Sandoz Laboratories probably makes those cables :-) Do they go all the way to a modular power supply?

The ones I have do, they are thicker wire and better plugs at both ends, you just specify what PSU when ordering, I got mine from Shakmods as soon as it became apparent how much power the titan (or was it my neptune can't remember) was putting through a single lead.

Touch wood, not had any of mine burn and been running at 325mhz since day 1, maybe just lucky or the fact it's an air conditioned room, but certainly glad I got them.

Mine I think are Shakmods too. I just remember the guy who was selling them was selling them in metric and I accidentally bought the shorter ones which work.

Uhmm all I can tell you is I had to tell the guy where I bought mine from which PSU they were plugging into as the modular connectors to the PSU aren't always the same.

I use two EVA SuperNova 1500's at home.

Hate to say it, but why? The Saturn will not benefit from more modern code in any way.

You could stick an 8-16gb SD card into it and run the latest BBB software or run the controller with a Neptune or Titan, but there's not much to do with Saturn code at this point.

KNC did, however it's funny to read old posts about ROI. If you just mined like hell, paid the electric bill, and buried your wallet in a closet you would have done well even with a negative ROI at the time.

Interesting.

Interesting.

But then again, depending on your costs that time, it would've maybe just been better to buy coins directly.

Would have been true...except that the KNC TItan was the last large scrypt miner made before the drought of 2014 when the LTC price was like $1.80..indeed that whole year my tagline

on www.bitcointalk.org was something like on 2014: "MY never to ROI, piece of sh*t Titan KNC 5th grade Science Fair Project of dubious crap. FML' Something like that.

What saved Maxumark and myself was the fact we were one of the few to get KNC Liguidation Auction KNC miners 5 cubes new ..so that is how we scored...but other than

that and hodl'ing LTC mined and sold for BTC you are probably correct....though I sold most of my LTC to BTC under $3 as things went along..I made 12,698 or some such LTC on lifetime on

www.litecoinpool.org So you do the math...ah so many boats missed......but again you are probably correct except for the longtivity of the Titans and later Garlicoin and Fujicoin (before FJC

went defunct and worthless) I think I got 4 plus years of profit out of about 12 Titans all but ONE picked up used....in fact in Feb of 2014 I picked my 2nd titan up for like $50 over shipping

from a guy in the outback of Australia I think maybe it was $180 to ship it ....he could not run it in the heat there...that was when we thought at around $10 LTC all those bigger machines were

supposed to come out and we figured this unit would be worthless by summer so I got it as a toy on the off chance i could mine oddball other crypto in summer at likely a loss

then all them mnfg's at around $2 LTC bailed and for the next couple years? (?) the KNC Titan used was the best deal and biggest miner in town till the Bitmain L3 (which when launched you could

only get from China not the states at first..another story)

but again, then as of now, buying btc/crypto of whatever flavor is probably the wise move...that or POS/masternodes..me thinks POW might be dead in the future Sad

later
