Now PSG's next fixture is against Metz home. I expect a comfortable win by PSG honestly. Metz have been losing for three weeks in a row and it is about to become four weeks. As Nice are going to play a tough game against Lens as well maybe PSG can increase the point gap with Nice too.

It was only a draw and even though PSG failed to win, at least they still secured 1 additional point. Lille is one of the teams that is always consistent every season so it is not surprising that they can make it difficult for PSG who are the defending champions of Ligue 1. Today PSG will play Metz and this is an opportunity for Luis Enrique's men to again widen the gap from Nice and even though previously had failed due to a draw against Lille, this time it was a home game so they couldn't look weak.

The last PSG vs Metz meeting last season left deep wounds for Metz because PSG beat them with a landslide score of 5-0 without reply and it looks like this time the result will not be much different from the previous meeting. Kylian Mbappe, always the spearhead of PSG, is expected to score goals again in this match and I think he will score at least 2 goals in this match.

Le Havre and Nantes are both middle teams in the standings. I wasn't expecting them to be the ones to make Nice experience their first losses. This gap can really be even higher by the end of this match week as well because Nice have a tough task to perform.

They never really had momentum, but they managed to not lose any games for a long time and they have the best defense in the league, which allows them to win many of those very close games. But when we talk about momentum, I am thinking of a team that is constantly on a higher level than other teams. Nice won many of those games because it was close and they didn't get punished. But that wasn't sustainable. Atletico Madrid takes this to the next level sometimes with a low number of goals scored themselves while having the best defense, but I didn't expect that from Nice.

You can't go wrong betting on Rennes because this team is really good even though this is an away match for them against Clermont. Currently, Rennes may be at the bottom of the table, but actually this team can continue to rise, especially as they always have a good record in each season, so I think they will soon return to the middle table in the near future. Rennes also still really needs full points and one way to do this is by beating Clermont in the next match.

The distance is 5 points and Clermont is in the relegation zone and it is very difficult to move on, but if they win this home match against Rennes then they will be free from the relegation zone for a while. Indeed, in this case it is not too much of a problem in terms of the current standings because after all until now their performance can still be said to be maintained and still comfortable with their position but still this is a little painful for me who still expects PSG to win full points and the goal in the 1 minute before the game ends really hits back the bets that have been maintained before.

But anyway they still get 1 point and this is better but one thing is certainly still nagging because when looking at the current situation with the strength of the players and the money they have they should be able to be more than that although I realise in every match something like this is quite common even though it is done for a club whose dominance is very strong like PSG.

It is very possible that Lens will beat Nice in this week 17 meeting, and again create full points to continue to improve their position in the standings. For Nice, losing points means breaking their stride in overtaking PSG at the top of the standings, even though we know that in the end PSG dominance is too strong for any team in Ligue 1 to break.

I was very surprised by Lens when they were able to beat Arsenal who were at the top of their form, and I thought after that they could qualify for the last 16 of the UCL. But apparently Arsenal took revenge by beating them and creating a large goal margin. I think Lens could be a troublesome team for Nice, because their consistency in the previous few matches is very promising.

I predict the match between Lens and Nice will end in a draw, but we'll see how the match goes. Even though on paper Nice is the club that deserves to be favored, extra consideration is needed if we want to bet on Nice winning this time.

Clermont performance this season has been one of there worst season because they have not for ones in this season play like a team that have an ambition to go far on this season because they have lose so many matches this season that has made them to be on  the button of there table so perhaps is quite obvious that Clermont is going on relegation because they have played 14 matches since September till now and they win only two matches, so perhaps I agree with you that betting for Rennes is actually the best because considering the performance of Clermont on this season is a very certain win for Rennes because Rennes has also pulled a quite performance this season by staying on the 13 place of the league although even if there position is not quite impressive but comparing with Clermont Rennes has really made an effort so betting for Rennes to win is the best decision.

You brought up a few interesting points and one thing I would like to raise here is that you said Mbappe knows how much he can raise the price tag for his salary and whatever else is needed. Yes he knows that, but I think that players can also make a lot of money by showing to their fans that money at some point can become secondary. I understand when all of them want to become billionaires because who doesn't. But picking a club because it means something while leaving out the money factor can also gain new fans. I am missing that sometimes.

Today, to be honest, I missed a lot of matches in all the leagues that I follow, unfortunately with the busy work I have to do, I can't predict the matches that are displayed in several leagues. speaking of Paris Saint-Germain, Enrique's squad beat Metz with a big score after drawing against Lille in the previous match. referring to the differences between these two teams, both in terms of ranking and performance in Lique 1. Nice have no posing threat for PSG because they're very inconsistent and will not become any more connected with the former oppositions. PSG coach, Luis Enrique is strict and he means business for his side, not only pursuing for good results but also an improved strategy that will yields prominent results. Paris Saint Germain doesn't stand in any position to struggle with these random average clubs in the Ligue One. Winning Metz 3-1 was consider good winning and that have sent Metz back to falling close to the relegation zone.

Honestly, maybe it is just me but it is getting boring a little bit. At the start of every season there is like this "lets see who will do what" period, and after a while every season it becomes clear that PSG will be champions, and the rest get their position and usually end up at that position. Maybe there will be few changes that's true, but usually it will end up where it is and nothing big will happen.

I think that's an issue and we need to focus on that. At least whatever the federation for French football should distribute the money a bit more equally to make other teams stronger, otherwise we are going to keep watching the same boring football just like these games and just like every game that will happen this season.

exactly! and this is what I meant a long time ago when PSG failed in the UCL.
I often say that even though PSG has 10 star players in its line up, PSG will not be able to win the UCL title if they continuously replace their coach because a coach needs a lot of time to study how PSG players can be more solid when competing in the UCL, at least they can be more consistent continued to survive until the final peak to win the UCL title and all this took a very long time, even Guardiola, who was the coach of Mam City, also did the same thing, survived longer and succeeded in providing the right strategy to be consistent until the final round and win the title.

It took a process for Luis Enrique to bring PSG into a team that can be reckoned with, but if management doesn't give him time then I'm sure it will be quite difficult to achieve. The owner of PSG has a lot of money and in fact we are worried that if Luis Enrique fails to deliver a title in his first season he will be fired. So the long-term target of making PSG become one of the best clubs will not be achieved because usually clubs that have a lot of money like to replace coaches if they fail to win the title.

Star players like Mbappe are indeed needed in the team, but it is much more important when players can show their collective ability together not individually. That is what Pep Guardiola built at Barcelona and Manchester City so that he could bring success to the two clubs he coached, Luis Enrique needs to emulate that attitude and try to implement it into his team.
