These are the games taking place this evening:
Ipswich Town vs Brighton and Hove Albion Manchester United vs Southampton
A couple of months ago I would have been confident Brighton would win the game but now I expect Ipswich Town to make a statement against Brighton by taking at least a point. As for Manchester United, the way they have been playing recently means they should beat Southampton by scoring a lot of goals and without conceding a goal.
RESULTS:
Everton 0-1 Aston Villa Leicester City 0-2 Crystal Palace Newcastle United 3-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

As for Manchester United, the way they have been playing recently means they should beat Southampton by scoring a lot of goals and without conceding a goal. Not conceding a goal is something that's very hard for Man united not to do, they have more goals conceded than points this season (26 points, 29 goals conceded). They also have more goal conceded than goals scored which is obviously why their goal difference is in the negative. To show how awful at the defence they have been, they even had an own goal scenario in this game. But on the positive side, Man united actually played well and their win wasn't shocking especially as they were playing against Southampton. Southampton themselves are the worst team so far in the premier league, having just one win in 21 premier league games is insane so Man united winning them isn't that big of a deal.

Wha? Against Ipswich? Yeah Brighton could lose but that's so unlikely... I wouldn't put too much weight on their win against Chelsea tbh. And if Chelsea and Ipswich would run it back, I don't think Ipswich would win again imho. It's just one of those things that happen in football. Man United against Southampton on the other hand could be one of those things. Lolol. Not saying I would enjoy it. It's just one of those seasons for Man U. Edit: Checked the fixtures. Yup Brighton...

These are games taking place today 18th January 2025: Brentford vs Liverpool Leicester City vs Fulham West Ham United vs Crystal Palace Arsenal vs Aston VillaRESULT: Newcastle 1-4 AFC BournemouthNewcastle United could have won 10 consecutive games but suffered a shock defeat in the early kick-off game. Bournemouth deserve full credit for the way they stunned Newcastle United mostly in part because of a hat-trick by Kluivert. RESULTS: Ipswich Town 0-2 Brighton and Hove Albion Manchester United 3-1 Southampton From being on the verge of defeat to winning he game with a key player scoring a hat trick, it was a good game. Southampton played their part, they scored and took the game to Manchester United. In the end, Amad was once again the reason Manchester United ended up with points. This will hurt Southampton a lot but they need to recover if they are to have any chance to avoiding relegation. The same goes for Ipswich Town, they lost at home again but they need points before it is too late. The fact of the matter is Manchester United have been playing average this season compared to their past glory. They have not scored enough goals and have conceded far too many, in the end they are where they are in the table for a reason. They had some moments including wins over Manchester City but they very few. These are the results from the games played today: Everton 3-2 Tottenham Hotspur Manchester United 1-3 Brighton and Hove Albion Nottingham Forest 3-2 Southampton Ipswich Town 0-6 Manchester CityNottingham Forest have been brilliant this season, they won again and deserve to be in second place (behind Liverpool). I do not know what is wrong at Tottenham but Moyes has to take credit for a fantastic win upon his return to Everton. As for Manchester United, Amad saved them against Southampton but Brighton are a different opponent. Having said that, they should really not have lost 1-3 at home to any team. These are the results from the games played yesterday: Brentford 0-2 Liverpool Leicester City 0-2 Fulham West Ham United 0-2 Crystal Palace Arsenal 2-2 Aston VillaAston Villa provided a brilliant comeback from being 2-0 down to end the game with a 2-2 draw. Arsenal looked all over the place at the end of the game and could have even lost as Aston Villa made one of their attempts count. Liverpool had a fortunate win away at Brentford with two goals effectively in time added-on.

RESULT: Chelsea 3-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers In the game played yesterday, Chelsea took all three points but Wolves did cause them problems. Chelsea move up to 4th place in the Premier League table and are 10 points behind leaders Liverpool and 4 points behind second placed Arsenal. If they have players performing on the level Chalobah did, they will be fighting Liverpool for the title at the end of the season. Wolves on the other hands are only outside the relegation zone because of goal difference and things are not looking for them as they enter a relegation battle.

Some really great matches this weekend... Nottingham Forest vs Bournemouth Man City vs Chelsea Aston Villa vs West Ham Then there's... Fulham vs Man United at Fulham's turf. That's two decent Portuguese managers. I feel like it's gonna be a draw or Marco Silva could outfox Amorim in this spot. Hard to fade Nottingham Forest, Man City has the better squad than Chelsea but dunno and Aston Villa has been looking good. But who knows, this one could have some surprises with West Ham and their new manager around.

At the moment Manchester United are in big trouble, this is a perfect time for Fulham to apply the pressure and win the game. I think they are more than capable of getting all three points. Things are bad at Manchester United but they will be above the relegation at the end of the season, I think they are far too good to be fighting a relegation battle. Nottingham Forest should beat Bournemouth thanks to their home advantage but it will be a tough game. I really hope they finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League because they deserve it. As for Chelsea, if they beat Manchester City it will push them onwards in the chase towards Liverpool. On the opening day of the season Manchester City travelled to Chelsea and beat them but now Chelsea are more than capable of inflicting a defeat on Guardiola and his team. There really are some exciting games this weekend. Some really great matches this weekend...

^ Rofl yeah... It's farfetched to say Man United will be in a threat of relegation. But if it does happen, I'm here to get the popcorn and watch all the entertainment unravel. That's prolly when Alex Ferguson starts speaking publicly about the club's plight and what they should do. But what can they do except make the squad lean and young. Trim away all the fat. Anyway, can't wait for your leans for these upcoming fixtures.

Not a perfect timing, Chelsea right now aren't the Chelsea we saw last month that were on form. Man city aren't as awful as they use to be either so it won't be that straight forward win for Chelsea. Chelsea still has their chances but for me it's going to be a narrow win for Chelsea. Shouldn't be shocking if the game ends in a shared point. Only a fan/hater will see a small club like nothingham doing well and pray for their downfall. Irrespective of their downfall favouring Chelsea still I wish them success although not to the extent that they take our spot in the top 4 at the end of the season. Wolves making it difficult for Arsenal? I don't think so unless it's Arsenal out of their carelessness that lose the game to Wolves.

After what happened to Manchester City in the Champions League against PSG, I think it will empower Chelsea to go and get at least a point even if they find themselves a goal or two down. Nowadays any team attacking Manchester City manages to score and Chelsea have the players to punish them. Only a fan/hater will see a small club like nothingham doing well and pray for their downfall. Irrespective of their downfall favouring Chelsea still I wish them success although not to the extent that they take our spot in the top 4 at the end of the season. Well that is the generosity of real football fans, they want other clubs to do well but not at the expense of their own team As far as Chelsea are concerned, I believe they will finish the season in the four and everybody will congratulate Maresca for taking tough decisions at the start of the season. I do wonder what would have happened to their league standing if they had managed to get the Osimhen deal over the line. Either way, they are doing well.

Some nice thoughts but we don't have the defence to hold a lead when the other side comes attacking. Same as man city so the game is definitely going to be an open one. Boehly not getting the deal of Osimhen done is one of the dumbest things he has done since taking over from Abramovich, won't had been bad if we had two strikers so Jackson would had been used in the conference league and as a substitute. We missed an opportunity and it seems they aren't doing anything either to get him or a better option this January. I don't understand what they're thinking and then I hear they're going after another United reject (Garnacho). This men don't know what they're doing to be frank.

I have no idea why the deal for Osimhen fell through when all the indications were he was on his way to Stamford Bridge. Imagine what it would have been like having a player of that quality in the Premier League. If anything, he would only have added to Chelsea rather than take anything away from them. Maybe it was incompetence on part of Boehly or maybe he thought Maresca was a new manager and was not worth the risk on a huge player such as him. As for Garnacho, he has not developed in to a complete player yet. There is no doubting his skill but apart from showing fantastic form in patches he has never been consistent. As he is still only 20 years old, he has time on his side. I think at the start of the new season he would be much more of a complete player as experience and maturity will contribute to him. I am unsure how he will fit in to the Chelsea system if he were sold. Some nice thoughts but we don't have the defence to hold a lead when the other side comes attacking. Yep, Dean Court aka Vitaly Stadium, Bournemouth's home. No way Brighton loses against Everton in my eyes but yeah sure, could happen. Liverpool wins, Newcastle wins, Arsenal wins. As for Man City vs Chelsea, the away team could win as City sucks these days. But I feel like this is at least a draw or a win for City.

These are the games taking place today Sunday 26th January 2025: Crystal Palace vs Brentford Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City Aston Villa vs West Ham United Fulham vs Manchester United Who agrees with me? win: Aston Villa, Fulham draw: Crystal Palace, Tottenham Here are the results from the games played yesterday: AFC Bournemouth 5-0 Nottingham Forest Brighton and Hove Albion 0-1 Everton Liverpool 4-1 Ipswich Town Southampton 1-3 Newcastle United Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-1 Arsenal Manchester City 3-1 ChelseaI could see Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest end in a draw just because it's gonna be played at... Yep, Dean Court aka Vitaly Stadium, Bournemouth's home. Who imagined Bournemouth would score five past Nottingham Forest? I was disappointed as they failed to secure at least a point but Bournemouth dominated the game. Congratulations to Everton as they continue their impressive form under Moyes and are now 7 points away from the relegation zone. Liverpool won their game as expected but Arsenal had a tight win away at Wolves and are now 6 points behind leaders Liverpool. As for Manchester City, they had to earn the win over Chelsea after going 0-1 down but the Chelsea defence should never had gifted them all three goals.

As far as Chelsea are concerned, I believe they will finish the season in the four and everybody will congratulate Maresca for taking tough decisions at the start of the season. I do wonder what would have happened to their league standing if they had managed to get the Osimhen deal over the line. Either way, they are doing well.
If we had Osimhen, we would still be in the title race race debate, not the top 4 discussion we are now in. The only reason we're in this situation is because our top striker has not scored in 7 games!!! If someone whose primary responsibility on the pitch is to score goals hasn't done so in a long time, how can such a team survive? Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City are going to occupy the top 3 leaving a spot for Chelsea, Nottingham, Newcastle to battle out for, so our chances are slim. We lack a decent CB, GK and ST - just bunch of kids.

Didn't expect that Bournemouth match to end like that. Lmao. And wtf happened to Brighton? And wait... What do you mean Moyes? He's back?? *Looks it up online* Oook... Wtf!! The genius Moyes is back, yes! I didn't know as I haven't really been looking into football that much these days. And this is the only football thread I go to as the others are cluttered with spam. If I only knew it was Moyes back at the helm, I would've picked a draw tbh.

The only reason we're in this situation is because our top striker has not scored in 7 games!!! If someone whose primary responsibility on the pitch is to score goals hasn't done so in a long time, how can such a team survive? If strikers do not score you would expect a world class midfield to produce the goals. Until they find a solution to their striker problem other players have been stepping up even from defence to score and that is a good sign. Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City are going to occupy the top 3 leaving a spot for Chelsea, Nottingham, Newcastle to battle out for, so our chances are slim. If I had to choose between Chelsea and Newcastle United, I am confident Chelsea will finish above them but when it comes to Nottingham Forest I am unsure at the moment. Under normal circumstances I suppose it would be safe to say Chelsea will win more of their remaining games than Nottingham Forest but who knows what will happen this season. We are all waiting for Nottingham Forest to run out of steam and exhaust their squad, they are still are 4 points ahead of Chelsea. There is a chance Manchester City will go back on a losing streak and drop out of the top four race altogether. If I only knew it was Moyes back at the helm, I would've picked a draw tbh. Moyes has always has a special relationship with Everton. Over many years he worked brilliantly there on a shoestring budget and did not want to leave but when he was offered the Manchester United manager job he had to take it. Now he is back at Everton after Dyche was sacked and with Moyse leaving West Ham United last season, he was available for the job. I think he will easily help Everton avoid relegation.

^ Yup it was the reason why Alex Ferguson personally picked him as his replacement when he couldn't convince Pep Guardiola to come out of his sabbatical from football. It turned out Guardiola had other plans and spent a couple of season in Germany while Man City was being prepared for is arrival by Ferran Soriano and Txiki Berigistain.
As for David Moyes, I really think the club should have stuck with him instead of pleasing the fans and appeasing the dressing room just go try to make everything run smoothly. It was the wrong decision. They were on the verge of going through hard times at the time and the best manager to go through it all is Moyes imho.

If memory serves correct, Moyes had a clause in his contract about receiving a massive payment if he was sacked while Manchester United were still in the Champions League. It was only after they lost to Bayern Munich 3-1 (after taking a 0-1 lead) that lead to his eventual departure. Manchester United are still facing the consequences of sacking Moyes to this day. He probably should have been given time as being dismissed after 10 months was too soon. He signed Fellaini and Mata but would have added to the squad if he had kept his job. The following season he would have been without Ferdinand and Vidic in the dressing room and things might have settled but all that is now in the past. He can look forward to trying to save Everton from a relegation battle. As for David Moyes, I really think the club should have stuck with him instead of pleasing the fans and appeasing the dressing room just go try to make everything run smoothly. It was the wrong decision. They were on the verge of going through hard times at the time and the best manager to go through it all is Moyes imho.
