I have no doubt that the other big title contenders must be wishing Liverpool to eliminate Real Madrid in this stage. 

Because maybe Real Madrid don't have the strongest squad on paper but they have been reigning in the Champions League for long years. They know how to deal with any kind of opponent here very well. The previous season was a good example for that. They were almost being eliminated by Manchester City though but they even made a comeback in such situation. This is an opportunity for Liverpool to have some revenge on them as well actually. Because Real Madrid have a strong history against them. Liverpool are much stronger here now comparing to their EPL effort. But let's see. 

Liverpool can win this trophy to break record in this season because, they started improving in some competition which they will surely display them in this UEFA champions league competition. It will be difficult for Liverpool to miss this opportunity because, many people are expecting them to win all their games to stand in a position to win this trophy to make their coach happy.

Liverpool have not been able to maintain their performance, their appearance is still far from what was expected. Competition in the Champions League is more difficult than the local league, there are still many big teams left which makes Liverpool's chances of winning all matches even smaller. Liverpool are still struggling to find goals to catch up with Brentford in the Premier League, due to poor performance Liverpool had to concede two goals.
Up and down Liverpool's performance is very vulnerable to going further in the Champions League, the arrival of new players is expected to provide competition to the top teams.

Leipzig can cause difficulty for Manchester City if they have their best players. Unfortunately Leipzig have many important players who were injured and have yet recovered. Manchester City are strong but now even have more advantage.

Leipzig must maintain their best performance against Manchester City, their performances in all competitions were very good, including when they beat AC Horsens and Radomiak Radom in the Friendlies match. The last time Leipzig failed to win was when they were held to a draw in Augsburg on October 22 in the Bundesliga, after that Leipzig always won and managed to sit in 3rd place in the Bundesliga. Even though this match will be played in February, Manchester City needs to prepare to beat Leipzig. Guardiola is still counting on Haaland and hopes he can play when they fly to the Red Bull Arena.

Leipzig could end up trying their best as much as possible but lets be honest, City is a huge team that is going towards becoming the UCL winners this year, and that is why I believe that they have a bigger chance. They are such a big team that they are capable of beating anyone, like it is not just about Leipzig but when I look at the entire tournament I do not see a team that is playing as well as they do.

This is why the only way City could lose would be a shocker, and that could be against anyone but I am not expecting such a thing. Haaland will probably score a bunch of goals and get them the win, it is their way for a while now since start of the season.

The competition between these two players is endless, although now that Ronaldo has joined Al-Nassr and certainly cannot participate in the UCL, it seems that this will determine who is the top scorer in UCL history. We know that Messi will likely still be in PSG uniform for one more season, it is very likely that Messi can break Ronaldo's number of goals if his performance does not decline.

It's not too difficult for Messi to find an additional 12 goals in the Champions League to equal Ronaldo goal tally. The latest news that I read, Messi will soon extend his tenure with PSG. Ronaldo is certainly not happy if Messi is the one who broke his record as the top scorer in the Champions League, not to mention that Messi has just won the world cup trophy with Argentina. These two players are friendly off the pitch, but when on the pitch they will always try to be the best.

True, it is undeniable that Messi is one step away from surpassing Ronaldo's number of goals in the champions league, moreover, Messi is definitely very motivated after bringing Argentina to win the 2022 world cup. The difference between 12 goals is very small and if you see Messi's performance which is slightly above Ronaldo, of course Messi will soon equaled the record.

In terms of players, there is no shortage because spending a lot of money to get star players, including Messi and Mbappe, was able to be kept at PSG with a big offer because for PSG money is not a problem, the important thing is that the trophy needs to be won as quickly as possible, although this is not an easy task.

I have started wondering how this form would reflect on their Champions League matchup against Milan. I know that there is still a long time until that but they don't look like good at all. To say they battled so hard to knock Arsenal out of the top four in the English Premier League and qualify for the Champions League last season is an understatement, considering the last time they did it was around three years ago. Tottenham finished first in their group, however, it appears that the teams weren't as tough and demanding as other groups, and they didn't have as many points as even the most serious groupings tiers. Milan would most likely use them as a starter pack to go through the knockout stage.

We don't know about Milan's condition yet as they haven't played a Serie A game after the break ended. But if they have a better form until the first leg then I might start giving more chance to Milan about eliminating them. I'm still saying "might" because Milan didn't seem well against a big team in the group stage - Chelsea.

Seria A is enjoying the holidays more than even the most watched leagues, but judging by what Milan has been playing, there is no doubt that they would not win against Tottenham; it wasn't like Milan did their best, but Tottenham isn't any different, and as it appears with Milan's recent developments, they have a better chance of making it out of the knockout stage.

You can compare between bayern and PSG about how much the club was worthy with money and there will be a huge gap between PSG and barcelona yet become the king of EU is about how good your team work to beat another club. it's not about how many great players in your club. If those clubs can't have a good work and then it will have the same result as PSG.

@X-ray the current Liverpool team is short on confidence and Klopp has so far failed to inspire them, and if he doesn’t fix majority of the issues then they’ll not be able to be beat Madrid even with the addition of Gapko (my analysis changed after seeing Liverpool’s yesterday’s game).

Furthermore Real Madrid should dip in the transfer window and buy a player as a backup for Benzema, but if Benzema is fit then he’ll definitely cause Liverpool lots of trouble and probably score the winning goal too.

Have you watch the matches? only Mbappe is playing on that's match, while Neymar and Messi doesn't play, which mean PSG doesn't play with their main line up/star players. I don't see why people are underestimating Lens and Marselle, both of this clubs can compete against PSG, so it's not surprising for those club could beat PSG.

PSG will humiliating Bayern Munich in the first leg since the match will held at PSG's home, while the second match PSG would be not really strong since they will play at Bayern Munich's home.

It is meaningless to think that they can eliminate Real Madrid with a single transfer.  Gakpo is an important signing but if Liverpool beat Madrid it would be a success for the whole team.  The first game is a little while away and we'll see in February.  At Anfield, they need to get the upper hand against Madrid and go to Spain like that.  If they can't gain an advantage in the first match, it will be very difficult for them to pass the round in Spain.
