I don't think that Modric will stay in the national team for the whole Euro 2024 qualifications. I think that he will say goodbye after the Nations league final four in June this year. But the game against Turkey really showed that when he is not at his best, the rest of the team doesn't play that good. I agree, when you know you are going to get paid real nice up until your retirement, that gives someone a boost of morale and that would make anyone happy. However, there is also a thing about the fact that he may not want to work as hard as he used to, because he worked hard before the contract deal since he wanted to earn it and now that he earned it maybe he will not work as hard as he used to?

I feel like Kroos definitely did that back in the day, good player all around but doesn't show up as much as they used to, plus Madrid has some good young midfielders as well so it could be an issue for Modric, if he has a slump for a few weeks that would cause him to start losing in the end as well and make him lose his spot.

England is the cradle of football, but the only time they managed to win a trophy in football was back in 1966 when the world cup was played in England and that was after a big controversy in the final with Germany, because it was never confirmed whether their third goal in the final was according to the rules.
They never won anything after that, although English clubs have always been good in European club competitions.

They still play some of the most entertaining football compared to other teams as they never play defensively which is great football to watch when you play most of the time in attack.This is also the reason why they have not won anything after 1966 because soccer has become a game of strategy from different coaches who after they score a goal they immediately keep the team completely on the defense and that is not beautiful football,England has never done such thing and against any team they have played open football which even people who are not fans of England have enjoyed.

I also don't know what exactly is the obstacle for England to win in the Euro and World Cup competitions, even though the composition of the English players is quite good

in group C, England is currently leading with 6 points while Italy is in 2nd place with 3 points, it is very likely that England will qualify from the qualifying round but they will have difficulty when they are in the quarter-finals or semifinals
