Media always talk about his name he got a legendary status already and any news about him is a big scope for them since there are so many people following an update regarding on his career path. Maybe he really need to win this fight since recently he encounter those upsetting lose and maybe this win is important to him since he can get back the glory as a champ under his name again if he win this.

The dude is about to retire and having an unforgettable win just before he wears out his gloves, will be one of his happiest moments as a pro boxer. Just like any other boxer after they came from a loss, this one is no different and I'm sure he will gonna be putting everything here to give us the most exciting and entertaining fight to remember. Santiago is also lucky to have him as his opponent for that title and if he can beat him because of some lucky punches or something like that, he will still the show and become one of the most popular boxers overnight.

A good win which could leave him a gokd record will be a sign enough for him to decide about his retirement. Of course, they will not quit and retire after a bad loss because they will surely recover from it and would still ask for a rematch.
Regarding Donaire, I hope he could focus on his training now that he's having some issues with his wife and his dad. He really needs to focus after his previous defeats.

Not good to retire coming from a huge lose so I guess Donaire's camp want to get a good victory before he hang up his gloves and announce his full retirement. But as he's eagerness to get more fight it make me also think that he want more maybe just for the sake of money since getting a match give him a good pay cuts so I guess there's little part of it is for profit since he will never earn that money again if he retire.

Its like grabbing the opportunity while he can able to do it.
Is Donaire really that old enough? I dont see for it to be the right time to hang up his gloves or maybe he should push up 2-3 fights more before he would retire and its true that on the time that he hang up his gloves

then there's no way that they could earn huge amount out of those fights. Its up into their own decision but for sure they would be aiming for the glory that they could possibly attained. No one really knows on whats up

into their plans into their minds because whether they would be calling it enough on the time he beat up Santiago and get the belt then decides to retire or simply
exiting out with some glorious victory.

He can definitely pull the trigger mate, he has fought in the last 2 years or so, it just that when he fight Inoue, he hit that wall.

Nevertheless he can still fight and his left hook is still very deadly and could lay everyone on the floor because it has power behind. But he might be cautious though, I mean it could be just case to case basis, and so in this one this is for the championship belt so it's very difficult to turn this opportunity again. So if he wins then he goes and fight again, if he losses turn him and Rachel Donaire will have to sit down and talk what will be their next move.

And he remains active while approaching the veteran age. It means his body didn't rest for long and was still able to keep up with Donaire's will.

Adding also to that, Donaire keeps doing training even prior to this fight that is mandated by the WBC.

Donaire also experienced already a tough wall on the bantamweight, Naoya Inoue. That's the best experienced he got against Alejandro Santiago.

Donaire can even beat Moloney, but instead Moloney chooses an easy way to get a belt in the bantamweight division, maybe it is just an excuse from his promoters not to touch Donaire at this point even if he is what we call 'old' already.

Yes, he has been very active in this division, beating young boxers until that tough wall, the best of them all which is Naoya.

Sign of relief for them when he goes up to super bantamweight, field is open for any of this boxers to become the new champion in WBC including Nonito and others.

Donaire could be considered everyone's personal favorite at this point. And in all honesty I would really wish for him to carry om boxing for as long as he likes, but there comes a time when one should call it quits lest they risk their retirement life being like Ali's, especially in contact sports like boxing. Altogether I'm pretty sure he'll put his A-game in this fight as always. He always does. But at some point he would need to hang the gloves for good. This fight, if it ends in a win, could be it.

Against Alejandro, for sure Donaire will be the A-side here due to the fact that the former hasn't faced big names in boxing yet in his career, unlike Donaire who has been in war many times and won most of the time. He will be hanging up his gloves for good maybe after two more fights and i could say that Donaire is just so lucky that he is in this situation wherein he could fight for a championship where the opponent's skill level is way below him, Moloney even avoid him for title fight.

Yep, he will be the A-side in this fight, actually in all of the bantamweight fights that Donaire could have in the future, he could be the A-side of all of it since Inoue has left. The timing though, when we thought he wanted to go down to 115 lbs and chase more belts, Inoue suddenly moves up that open doors for him again to fight for the bantamweight belt. Of course at some point, every boxer will have to hang their gloves for good and retire. And this fight could be a good testament for it, whether he can still fight or he doesn't have it anymore in his system.

I want to it see that too if Donaire can still take a win against boxers here in the Bantamweight division regardless if they are young or not now that the most dominant Bantamweight boxer is now out of that division, Naoya Inoue.

If Donaire can't stand against other Bantamweight boxers then that's it and he should call it "a career".

But even after beating Santiago, I want to see him clashing with Jason Moloney. Hopefully, the next in line for him.

The result of this fight will determine the future of Nonito Donaire.

If he can't beat Santiago here which far can't be compared to Naoya Inoue's level, then Donaire should retire.

Santiago is not even a threat to consider and Donaire can't handle him, he needs to think twice if he will still do boxing.

This fight is key for Donaire, if he is able to win easily against Santiago then he can keep pushing the envelope and see how far he can go while he still retains his ability to fight, however as you state a loss should make him think immediately about retiring as even if Inoue is no longer in the division, failing when all the titles are available is not a good omen, however even if Donaire wins if he experiments a lot of problems to do it then he should still consider retiring.

Yes, a good fight and at the same time, a measuring stick for Donaire, to see if he can still proceed throughout his career and then go as far as where no other bantamweight did in the past, at 40 years old and others say a way past boxer. But still fighting at a high level despite that sort of disadvantage as he will be fighting a young boxer here.

And he is still very positive, who ever it is Moloney or Santiago Donaire will not back down from the challenges.

Santiago is not a good boxer to use to measure Donaire, as Donaire is obviously the better fighter.

We have seen before how Donaire dominated a young boxer who did not have the same skills as he does, so I wouldn't be surprised if I see a knockout here. Actually, Donaire's loss to Inoue is not a measuring stick to consider Donaire a bad boxer or a boxer that is getting older, because Inoue is just exceptional. As a fan, it has been my dream to see Donaire fight Casimero, but unfortunately, that won't happen now since Casimero has moved up in weight.

i also believe that this fight will test his endurance if he can still fight younger boxers to aim for those coveted belts. if he can snatch such belts, that's a great reward before he hang his gloves. at least retire from you sports as a winner.

Hmmm, if he can't withstand with this fight or I don't know maybe he could  change his division but I really doubt that he will be lose in this fight against Santiago . I really believe to Donaire but the thing is I think his team should learn to enhance his skill such as agility, because as he get older and when his opponents are younger than him he should go along with their speed and strength of course.

There's no need for Donaire to change his style. Donaire is Donaire, and he has special skills that make him successful. Aiming for a KO fits well as a strategy for him, as if he leaves the fight to the judges' scorecards, he might get tired and lose. He has power, which is why he is a KO artist, and if he cannot use that in this fight, then I don't expect him to win, as many of Donaire's fights that have not resulted in a KO have not been in his favor.

Yes you are right that and we all know that every fighter have thier own style and for this fight donaire have his old but gold style which is until now it is very effective and for this matchup between Alejandro Santiago and donaire then all I can say is that it's okay if he will not change his style because. A counter puncher is very good once your opponents are too aggressive. And Alejandro must be careful for this matchup.

Yes, I definitely agree with that. Just in case though, then Nonito Donaire's future is guaranteed that he doesn't have any future left in the boxing industry because if he got defeated by Santiago then how much more to Moloney and other boxers who is inside the Top 5 bracket. What's left for him is to retire rather than become a laughing stock in the industry.

But I guess that won't happen because Santiago's chance is really slim compared to Donaire who can still dance gracefully inside the ring, let's just expect though that there's some changes because The Flash is not that flashy anymore.

Changing division won't be a good idea knowing he can't beat a boxer in his comfort weight zone that's not even in the high rankings.

No need for any enhancement of skills or what. That is not necessary. Donaire just needs to follow his usual boxing style and do his usual training and workout. Shifting gears will not work now at this point in his career and as I mentioned, Santiago is not even a considered high-tier boxer.

If Donaire can't keep up with Santiago, he won't surely can't keep up to the lower division and better just retire.

I totally agree with you. Donaire is now in the right division, and Inoue is giving them a chance to be a champ, so it's a good opportunity for Donaire to win again. He was once a champion in this division; it's just that Inoue took that from him. Now that Inoue is gone, it's time for him to come back.

Changing divisions is usually only good for young boxers. Donaire is not young; he is already old.

At 40 years old, his body will be having difficulty in coping up with the weight changes for sure.

I guess their camp already know Donaire's current situation and probably already acknowledge that if Donaire will not be successful versus Santiago, then a retirement will be his only option. You know, that is just sad because it's not a good exit for him but it is what it is. Well, in the positive side, Donaire's chances are greater than decent because this Santiago is not really a threat.
