If Donaire is listed as the favorite, I doubt he will be a heavy favorite. He's coming off a big loss against Inoue, so he doesn't have much momentum, unlike Santiago, who is currently on a winning streak.

I guess there's no need to bring if's when it comes about the bookies favorite because although there's no list yet as of this moment, I know it will be Donaire and there's also a pretty chance that he will be listed as a heavy favorite like 3:1 because Alejandro's rapsheet isn't that impressive as well as his wins by a way of KO and TKO. You can evidently compare it even if Donaire just got out by a big loss against Naoya Inoue who just vacated his belts.

Not only a young Reymart Gaballo, but Ouballi, on how he destroys him when they face and you like seeing a prime Donaire, as if he turns back the clock. So it could be end that way, like the smaller fighters that Donaire faces, or at least he has the height advantages, he all knock them down or out cold.

Boxers, like Darchy, Arce, and Montiel. So definitely, we should all look for Donaire scoring a statement knockout.

If it is true that Donaire will fight Santiago then this fight is an opportunity for Donaire to be able to win because if we look at the way he fights and his last few fights, Donaire has the upper hand.
But here Donaire still has to train well and prepare himself as much as possible for that fight, because after all he has to stay alert and not underestimate whoever his opponent is even though the one he will face is weaker than him.
If this fight is the last fight for Donaire I'm still not sure because if Donaire really can win then surely he will continue on to another fight to be able to prove a big achievement and show that he deserves to be a champion.

I would rather see Donaire fight the best than see him fight against a fighter that he can easily dominate. If we believe that Moloney is better than Donaire, then why did Moloney cancel the fight? Maybe it's only us who believe he is the better fighter, but he doesn't feel the same way.

There's no assurance that it could be his last fight since he hasn't made an announcement. It's just speculation, but it would be nice if he retires with a clean record.

If it is Moloney then maybe it will be, but with Santiago, if this becomes an easy win for him then he could aim for unifying the titles.
I don't think he will retire after it, maybe 2 to 3 more fights before he will say he is done.
Santiago is the lucky dude here though, I cannot see him in the rankings posted by other websites but from what I read from another random site, he is number 4 in the WBC ranks.
But after this fight against Donaire, they are also obligated to fight for whoever will win against Reymart Gaballo and Nawaphon Sor Rungvisai which is set in May.

This will be a good for Donaire considering that his opponent is younger than him but with low probability of knocking him down. It's hard to choose who's going to win here since both of them has something that we can't look down. It's Santiago's prime year versus Donaire's experience in the ring. But considering that Donaire has a good chance of knocking down his opponent plus he's more dominant in height. I guess most of the topic would support Donaire already on this one just by looking at the record each one of them.

Talking about Donaire's current situation. Honestly, I can't help but laugh whenever I see and read some folks that we shouldn't add Donaire's age as a factor that will be given as an advantage for his opponent because his performance is still good. I mean, what? That's almost impossible to do and to turn a blind eye for Donaire's current situation as surely age is always a factor same as youth.

But in this case, it seems that Donaire's situation won't be a hurdle as Santiago is not that type who can give Donaire some huge struggle as he doesn't have the height-reach advantage especially the experience.

Many talks about the retirement but after that you’ll see them in the ring again fighting another boxer so I think there’s no real retirement in boxing as long as there are still offer for you to fight.

Donaire’s focused is on his up coming match with Santiago if there’s no changes anymore. Santiago is still young, so this will be a big challenge to Donaire to match the aggressiveness of young Santiago, though based on numbers Donair is on a good advantage here.

His age has caught up to him, but he's still fighting, that's one thing I really applaud about Donaire, which until this point to me is just "a Manny Pacquiao knock-off" honestly. But seeing how hard he's trying to prove that he's still got it just made me respect the man on a newer level. Anyways, yeah, retiring after a loss isn't a great track record to leave your boxing career on, might as well take up another potential win before hanging your gloves for a positive win rate.

Yes, that's true mate, Moloney though might change a different route to get a belt as well. But his not willing to take the fight, was somewhat a "blessing in disguise" for the Flash himself.  Santiago will be less of a challenge for him.

True, will not be an easy fight for Nonito, still have to work a lot in the gym because he is not that young anymore. He needs to get that body moving and definitely that counter left hook that he is known off will be in display here from round 1. So it's hard for Santiago to cope with that kind of counter, he needs to be very quick as he might be the next victim of Nonito's signature punch.
